    A meticulous and thorough review. The Renovator wins but not all of us newbies would have the balls to use a buffer.

      I've got a video planned for helping newbies get started with a polisher.

    Hi!
    I used to use renovator with machine for colour and swirls, after that I used super resin for buffing and finally coated with extra gloss...super resin and extra gloss have to dry very well, it comes of almost as dust...after putting on these coatings I first wiped most of them off with cloth and buffed up with wool...and after extra gloss I did it 3 times to get it really shining...but these were times when I was young and had the time and interest... 🙂

      That was a good way of doing it but as you mentioned, time consuming. Well done on taking the time, I'll bet the car looked incredible after.

    Used to use the AG Ultra Deep Shine and a 10inch buffer as a stand alone about 18 years ago. Results were spectacular on a deep magenta red colour. That kind of sent me down the rabbit hole of the Wonderful but expensive World of Detailing.

      Must take you ages. How often do you polish?
      You need to try Garage Therapy Sigma.
      Just ask Specky he bought 5 litres of it! 😅👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    Thanks again for another great video. Let me qualify that praise: You are concise, with a pinch of humour to keep things light. Also, methodical, well read in the products you are testing, and very honest and fair. Happy New Year!

    Wishing you a wonderful New Year. Look forward to next year's content. Was that a Rio bonnet? I have used all but one of these products. The high gloss polish. Whenever I've used the renovate compound, I always do a pass with the super resin polish after to remove any hazing left. Great video 👍😊

    • @SpeckyMcSporran
      @SpeckyMcSporran  3 роки тому +1

      No, the bonnet was from a Mk 6 Fiesta.
      Any AIO polish will help improve the finish after compounding due to the fillers and waxes etc. Good shout.

    Lucky for some who have time to video on Xmas eve 🤣🤣
    Good comparison, everyone has their preferred methods... Personally I wouldn't want to waste my time any more with hand application when I've got so used to machine work... Its like using a screwdriver when you have a cordless 🤣 prefer to save my wrists 😬😬

    • @SpeckyMcSporran

      I totally agree mate. I hope more people are willing to try a machine polisher.

    • @Setright
      @Setright 3 роки тому +2

      The "beauty" of hand polishing is that beginners can get very reasonable results, with minimal chance of damage. Power tools make work easier...but a short loss of concentration can mean costly mistakes.

      Can't argue with you there, I mentioned in a previous video that you need practice before giving it a serious go. That's why AutoGlym don't recommend using SRP by machine, they don't want to be responsible for novices dropping their DA etc.

      It depends on how much light there is on the day and the colour of the paint etc. It should be pretty good but if you need more light then consider it's big brother the IL-1250R.
