Lucy was signed by a record company at age 13, but it looks her parents did not want her to be too close to the show business at a too young age. It is why she is ,really, blossoming now, and just started to give concerts.
In view of this one song, she did great! I know I like her - to know how much, I need to hear more. Now, I don't know enough to proclaim she is the best in the world or not, but also I can't limit myself to one who is the best. I mean every single singer/artist I've reacted to so far is amazing in their own way - Dimash with his insane range, Diana with the color of her voice, Lara with the emotions outpour along with an excellent voice and control, Ren with extremely thought-through live videos and lyrics packed along with his unique tone... I don't want to choose. I want to listen to the best, and so far, I have thanks to the very good taste of this community. The only one that didn't impress me is Brandon Stone, but then he had Diana to save the song...

Yeah, I don't think there is such a thing as the "best in the world". There could be someone out there we never heard of and never will who is even better, and even then, it's a matter of taste.

She started at 7, auditioned at 13, got a record contract and the leading role in a musical (Rosie) at 14. Did 5 albums + an album from the musical by now. About 10 of her songs are duets with her 5y,8mo younger sister Martha. These duets are special gems! She is 20y now. 1st public concert last March in Manchester. Next one Sep 8 in Tokyo.. Enjoy.

Hi Aleks...Very excellent reaction! I think that Lucy is certainly one of the best of the current generation of young vocalists. Personally, I have never heard or seen anyone who can surpass her. Lucy is pure and genuine. She does not need to use any gimmicks or flaunt her body. Her voice and presentation is gold. Award winning! And her inner and natural outer beauty is a rarity in the world today. Putting it plain and simply, Lucy is world class.

You have to go back in time to when she was 14 or 15 years old and she covered a song from Dreamgirls called "Listen" this song blew me away, how can such a young girl sing like this. she is now just turned 20 years old. Stay in your comfort zone and don't try to be clever and stay true to the melody. You have stumbled across one of the best female vocalists in the world today Lucy started singing at 7 years old ,given a recording contract at 14 She is starring in a musical opening in London´s West end early next Year This musical was written for her to star in by award winning songwriter and owner of Cavendish records Chris Broom. Chris has had Lucy under contract since she was 14 .Lucy has over 70 songs on her channel she has covered all of the Divas and many say bettered them But that is something you will need to find out for yourself. This song has been my favourite song since I heard it in the film Ghost by Bobby Hatfield which up until now was my favourite version Now it is Lucy´s .She just has a beautiful pure voice and her vocal abilities are master class. But then I believe she is the best singer on the planet, and I am far from being alone. It is the exact definition of Lucy Thomas "A crystalline voice" Pure and perfect... that clarity reminds me of Sohyang, which I already mentioned to you (She is the queen of the mixed voice). The beautiful Lucy is perfect, seamless and seems easy; I guess there will be a great training behind it. In any case, there is nothing written about tastes, I agree with the versions of The Righteous Brother and Elvis Presley. Not a single but for Lucy... the versions she mentioned touched my heart. It is a beautiful melody among the great classics and great covers have been made (I seem to remember another one by Morissette Amon). Anything Morissette does is great; but I don't have this one marked in my memory. I wasn't humming, could have ruined her singing if I was, but I was very aptly lip-syncing. Her voice is clear, her control is excellent, this song suits her, but before I can tell if she is one of my favorites, I do need to hear more than one performance. At age 14, Lucy was considered to be a vocal prodigy. At that age she challenged Byonce with her cover of “Listen”. At 15 she was considered not only good enough for Broadway but good enough to star on Broadway! At 16 she covered Hallelujah which one of the most beautiful covers ever recorded. It has amassed almost 50 million views on UTUBE. Somewhere originated by Barbara Streisand is another great cover. Lucy’s voice has now matured to the great cover you just reacted to. There are so many covers to listen to including some from her upcoming starring role in Rosie the musical due to open on the West End of London very soon.

I don't know if I can listen to I Will Always Love You again, but maybe that's a good reason to try. Believe it or not, I never heard Celine Dion's Prayer. When someone mentioned it for the first time I thought it was My Prayer by The Platters. 😂 Later on someone else said whose song it was and I realized I don't know the song at all.

The original is from Todd Duncan , from the film unchained 1955 . Not the RB brothers, although they made it famous . This performance from Lucy as you noticed follows the Bobby hatfield version very closely .Thats what you get from Lucy crystal clear vocals .Her lane is mainly musical theatre.

Admittedly, I liked this one very much, but before I can say anything more I think I need to hear more. In that spirit I have written up your suggestions along with all the others that poured in so quickly, I'm still a bit stunned. Btw, you can always check out what's been suggested/requested so far on a Google sheet link on my channel, if you're interested. So far the entire community on this channel has only suggested excellent artists, some for people of different tastes maybe, others very much the type of music that Lucy sings as well, but all are very good.

Lucy was signed by a record company at age 13, but it looks her parents did not want her to be too close to the show business at a too young age. It is why she is ,really, blossoming now, and just started to give concerts.

I mean every single singer/artist I've reacted to so far is amazing in their own way - Dimash with his insane range, Diana with the color of her voice, Lara with the emotions outpour along with an excellent voice and control, Ren with extremely thought-through live videos and lyrics packed along with his unique tone... Hi Aleks. You just tumbled down the rabbit hole. You'll find out there's no way back. She's that good. About 70 masterpieces to enjoy. She started at 7, auditioned at 13, got a record contract and the leading role in a musical (Rosie) at 14. Did 5 albums + an album from the musical by now. About 10 of her songs are duets with her 5y,8mo younger sister Martha. These duets are special gems! She is 20y now. 1st public concert last March in Manchester. Next one Sep 8 in Tokyo.. Enjoy.

Hi Aleks...Very excellent reaction! I think that Lucy is certainly one of the best of the current generation of young vocalists. Personally, I have never heard or seen anyone who can surpass her. Lucy is pure and genuine. She does not need to use any gimmicks or flaunt her body. Her voice and presentation is gold. Award winning! And her inner and natural outer beauty is a rarity in the world today. Putting it plain and simply, Lucy is world class.

You have to go back in time to when she was 14 or 15 years old and she covered a song from Dreamgirls called "Listen" this song blew me away, how can such a young girl sing like this. she is now just turned 20 years old. Ah... yup! We can tell you really enjoyed this performance! This young lady certainly did this song justice, and I completely agree with you, this is what a singer does. Stay in your comfort zone and don't try to be clever and stay true to the melody. So rare these days to see someone her age perform a song from seventy years ago and do it with the grace and elegance it deserves.

You have stumbled across one of the best female vocalists in the world today Lucy started singing at 7 years old ,given a recording contract at 14 She is starring in a musical opening in London´s West end early next Year This musical was written for her to star in by award winning songwriter and owner of Cavendish records Chris Broom. Chris has had Lucy under contract since she was 14 .Lucy has over 70 songs on her channel she has covered all of the Divas and many say bettered them But that is something you will need to find out for yourself. This song has been my favourite song since I heard it in the film Ghost by Bobby Hatfield which up until now was my favourite version Now it is Lucy´s .She just has a beautiful pure voice and her vocal abilities are master class. But then I believe she is the best singer on the planet, and I am far from being alone. If you listen to some of the stuff she knocked out four or five years ago when she was only 15 or so you will soon see how extraordinary this girl is.

This will give you an idea how versatile Lucy is. It is the exact definition of Lucy Thomas "A crystalline voice" Pure and perfect... that clarity reminds me of Sohyang, which I already mentioned to you (She is the queen of the mixed voice).
The beautiful Lucy is perfect, seamless and seems easy; I guess there will be a great training behind it.
In any case, there is nothing written about tastes, I agree with the versions of The Righteous Brother and Elvis Presley. Not a single but for Lucy... the versions she mentioned touched my heart.

Thank you so much! I only said what I felt, and seems many are in agreement on the main quality of Lucy's voice - clear and pure. What's not to like? I've noted both Sohyang and Morissette Amon. There are 400+ requests, but I will go over them slowly, but surely. Sometimes I feel I need a totally new artist, so that's when it will happen.
I wasn't humming, could have ruined her singing if I was, but I was very aptly lip-syncing. It's also funny how I remembered all the words, as it really has been ages since I heard the song. 😂

Stunning performance from Lucy,don't know if she is the best vocalist around,but she is certainly my favourite,i have followed her & seen her grow over the last few years,she has been brought along carefully by her family & Chris Broom of Cavendish records who is very much her mentor,he saw something special in her on hearing her at the age of 14,she was 20 last February,Lucy has also finished all her schooling whilst being involved in her musical career!.she is sheer class!😊
Her voice is clear, her control is excellent, this song suits her, but before I can tell if she is one of my favorites, I do need to hear more than one performance. She has intrigued me, as did so many comments from serious people like you, so I will. I had no clue she was this well known. Only one person prompted me to listen to her.

You will never be disappointed in anything Lucy does, I promise. I have been following her since she was 13. She is now 20 years old. she actually sounded this good when she was 13 even. The only thing that has really changed in her voice over that period is her lower register. It has gotten more richer and fuller. See you soon! Oh, I should warn you that there is this thing we call the "Lucy Effect". You will be drawn in by Lucy in such a way that you feel mesmerized, stunned and possibly a little teary eyed and if not teary eyed, I promise your emotions will be stirred if not aroused. I have to say that Lucy is my most favorite vocalist. As you stated her clarity is just amazing. If you listen to her again you will notice that her breath control is something to be hold. She sings a lot of two verse without taking a breath. I would suggest Lucy’s cover of Barbra Streisand hit song “Evergreen” twice song of year back in the day.

Hi ya again Aleks - I forgot to mention ... I loved this reaction and the look on your face when Lucy hit that high note close to the end of the song. I sincerely believe you will love Lucy after reacting to or just listening to a few of her videos. All of her videos are very tasteful and not complicated. Some of the 4 LIVE videos that have been posted from her concert are re-dos from studio videos but are even better since she is older and more mature. AND her duets with Martha are other-worldly - thanks again - enjoy this rabbit hole I think you will enjoy going down. Cheers!

At age 14, Lucy was considered to be a vocal prodigy. At that age she challenged Byonce with her cover of “Listen”. At 15 she was considered not only good enough for Broadway but good enough to star on Broadway! At 16 she covered Hallelujah which one of the most beautiful covers ever recorded. It has amassed almost 50 million views on UTUBE. Somewhere originated by Barbara Streisand is another great cover. Lucy’s voice has now matured to the great cover you just reacted to. There are so many covers to listen to including some from her upcoming starring role in Rosie the musical due to open on the West End of London very soon.

@@AleksReacts she also did Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You at age 17. Not what you would expect from someone so young. Quite amazing actually!! She also does duets with her much younger sister which produce harmonies from heaven! They did a cover of the “Prayer “ which many believe was better than the Celine Dion version. I hope you enjoy!!!
I don't know if I can listen to I Will Always Love You again, but maybe that's a good reason to try. Believe it or not, I never heard Celine Dion's Prayer. When someone mentioned it for the first time I thought it was My Prayer by The Platters. 😂 Later on someone else said whose song it was and I realized I don't know the song at all.
I loved your reaction to discovering Lucy Thomas. If you want to compare her to Barbara Streisand, Try "Evergreen" or my favorite, "Memory" from Cats. Her duets with her little sister are priceless - "You Raise Me Up" or "The Prayer" are great starters.

The original is from Todd Duncan , from the film unchained 1955 . Not the RB brothers, although they made it famous . This performance from Lucy as you noticed follows the Bobby hatfield version very closely .Thats what you get from Lucy crystal clear vocals .Her lane is mainly musical theatre.
I think I only ever heard The Righteous Brothers version. Thank you for sharing more information about the song and the original artist.

Hello - Thx for this reaction - very much enjoyed!! I am glad you discovered Lucy & hope you will do more of her. Like many on here - I have come to believe that "to my ears" she is the best vocalist on the planet - at the ripe age of 20. Her main music channel has close to 70 songs, which are all great - they really are. Like this one - she has covered many of the greatest most iconic songs - by the greatest artists ever and has killed or done justice to every single one. Just did her first LIVE concert recently in Manchester UK - if you have time check out any of those releases "At Last" is most recent. Her live voice may even be better than her studio voice - just unreal Thx!

Thank you Aleks. Your reaction was one of the most genuine and honest that I’ve seen in a while. There are many, myself included, who find Lucy’s talent mesmerising, and there is real enjoyment in watching someone like yourself, discover her beautiful voice for the first time.
I for one would love to watch you discover Lucy at just 17 years old and her sister Martha at just 12 years old tackle the iconic duet ‘The Prayer’ as sung by A Bocelli and Celine Dion. Personally, the Thomas sisters are now my benchmark… I wonder how you might feel?

To remain true to myself, I don't know how I feel yet. I've only heard one song. Admittedly, I liked this one very much, but before I can say anything more I think I need to hear more. In that spirit I have written up your suggestions along with all the others that poured in so quickly, I'm still a bit stunned.
Btw, you can always check out what's been suggested/requested so far on a Google sheet link on my channel, if you're interested. So far the entire community on this channel has only suggested excellent artists, some for people of different tastes maybe, others very much the type of music that Lucy sings as well, but all are very good.

I am honestly sure that the microphone here was only a prop, but I also think this is her real voice. It did not feel like there was autotune involved.
