    Many of the people shown in this video are NOT Hasidic!!!! Andrea Grinberg and Rivka Malka Perlman, who discuss hair covering, are MOST CERTAINLY not!!!! The person who made this is woefully uneducated about traditional Judaism. There are plenty of Orthodox Jews--very Orthodox Jews--who are not hasidic! This is such a fundamental mistake that I would not take anything the producers have to say.

      Because of the whole believing in Jesus as the Messiah thing. Jews generally don't believe this while it is the foundation of Christianity. If you ask me, this whole feud is sad and pointless.

      Critical thinking is an approach to gathering data and making inferences about the world. It draws heavily on ideas from the scientific revolution and advocates an approach of data acquisition and rational assessment. When applying critical thinking the goal is to collect as much relevant data as possible, and then assess that data for accuracy, and finally use the data to arrive at the most justified conclusions possible.

    I wold like to know why the men where the hot hot black outfits in the summer. Also why is almost EVERY encounter with the men I have a bad one. Very seldom do I have a good expierianc with the guys . They always talk to me like I'm lower then them or brush me off. I attempt to make good conversation and I hardly ever get respect . This is usually from just the older ones and not the younger ones.

    The beliefs and habits of Hasidic women are virtually identical to those of Muslim women. I'm not trying to "stir the pot" or create controversy. It's just an observation.

      Muslims cover the hair, as it's a commandment from God. However we don't wear wigs as now when u see Jewish women it's practically the same as their own natural hair which I don't understand how that's modesty. Instead as a Muslim I cover my hair with hijab and cover our whole body including And sometimes face. This is modesty.

    orthodox girls are awesome, they have not just inner beauty but something that i can't explain. There is no drama, no narcissism, no crazy whinny, attention seeking. You can tell them how beautiful they look and they say thank you. Its not, you're looking at me you're a stalker, im gonna call the police. The way they raise children is just magic

    My church follows holiness standards. Like you, we don't expose knees or elbows. We test our necklines by bending forward to make sure it won't expose us, and we make sure our shirts won't expose our abdomen if we move around a lot. The main difference though, is we do not cover our hair. We also do not wear any makeup or jewelry, or cut or dye our hair. When we fix our hair, we steer clear of any seductive styles. We aim to look clean, hygeinic, natural, of a modest spirit and appearance, etc. So we do something you don't, and vice versa.

    • @ishouldbesleeping1354

      Damaris yes! We all sense what it IS to be modest. For some it’s okay wearing makeup, but covering hair and covering of layers of clothes. But for others it’s downplaying THOSE very things. The Old Testament describes a wife of noble character in the final chapter of Proverbs. In the New...good works should be evident, instead of expensive or elaborate jewelry, clothes, and hair. We only have so much time in a day. Setting holy priorities is key to a Godly woman, and it’s fun learning what women decide that is for themselves. For myself, it changes a bit with age. I cover my head when I fast. I loved your comment. Blessings to us all 🖖

  • @mightyoak11111
    @mightyoak11111 8 років тому +8

    Viewers, please remember that that is a very wide spectrum not only of beliefs but of practices too. Some Jews are orthodox but practice in a more secular manner. Every Jew is going to have a different belief system and practice differently. Hey, some Jews even believe that Jesus is the son of God, which might suggest that they should not be Jewish. Jews are a very heterogeneous group. They are rich. They are poor. They are democrat and republican. They serve in the military and even work in restaurants. Do not try to paint Jews with one brush stroke because it is simply not possible. Hope this helps.

    In reality God wants modesty in women dressing style . A women should not be an object of temptation to any man . I believe this with all my heart . I am a man and believe even the man has to be careful in the way he dresses himself . However I also believe that we should request of God the knowledge to carry ourselves in our whole lifestyle . If we ask Him he will give us understanding from above . Unfortunately the world has replaced true knowledge from God with the knowledge from the dark side , and that is why the whole world is in such a sad condition .Darkness has filled the minds of mankind and we are paying a heavy price for it . This is why peace has left the world and goodness is hardly found .And the almighty looked down from heaven and behold darkness filled the earth .

    it's 2017. hearing that a woman has nightmares about uncovering her hair in public gives me the chills. especially when she's been wearing her hair uncovered until the day she got married. hair is just keratin, just like hair on your arm, legs, facial hair etc. it's on your head for protection against sun and extreme weather, a remnant of what human body used to be in the beginning (as in, covered in fur). freedom isn't about the 1000 way you can tie your tichel, it's about being at liberty to decide if one day you want to cover your head and the next day you don't, without the fear of being judged by people in your cocoon community or out in the real world.
    dressing modestly is another topic that makes me giggle. if you're covering your elbows, collar bones and knees in the summer while everyone else is wearing a t-shirt and jeans then you're the one standing out, drawing attention to yourself because you're dressed differently, and there ends your modesty because everyone is looking at you. it might work in your cocoon community but not outside of it. a modest person doesn't try to draw attention to herself, tries to meld. if 99% of women were naked and you were the one dressed, you'd be the non modest person. it's not about conformity, it's about not drawing attention

    A lot of the things that are said in this video are inaccurate. For example, married women do not cover their hair for their husband. This is a very common misconception and many women reject the commandment because of it. It's really a shame that the yeshivas dont teach these things..

    I believe in this expression of modesty for women who love The Holy One of Israel. It is not oppressive and it absolutely does restore dignity to the women who live this and understand this principle. A woman who exposes her body to the world, can neither be Godly or beautiful.
