Many of the people shown in this video are NOT Hasidic!!!! Andrea Grinberg and Rivka Malka Perlman, who discuss hair covering, are MOST CERTAINLY not!!!! The person who made this is woefully uneducated about traditional Judaism. There are plenty of Orthodox Jews--very Orthodox Jews--who are not hasidic! This is such a fundamental mistake that I would not take anything the producers have to say.
+James McKay Because of the whole believing in Jesus as the Messiah thing. Jews generally don't believe this while it is the foundation of Christianity. If you ask me, this whole feud is sad and pointless.
Critical thinking is an approach to gathering data and making inferences about the world. It draws heavily on ideas from the scientific revolution and advocates an approach of data acquisition and rational assessment. When applying critical thinking the goal is to collect as much relevant data as possible, and then assess that data for accuracy, and finally use the data to arrive at the most justified conclusions possible.
I wold like to know why the men where the hot hot black outfits in the summer. Also why is almost EVERY encounter with the men I have a bad one. Very seldom do I have a good expierianc with the guys . They always talk to me like I'm lower then them or brush me off. I attempt to make good conversation and I hardly ever get respect . This is usually from just the older ones and not the younger ones.
The beliefs and habits of Hasidic women are virtually identical to those of Muslim women. I'm not trying to "stir the pot" or create controversy. It's just an observation.
Yes you are absolutely correct they come from the same area, share the same values, traditions, and very similar cultures. It is not stirring the pot they are more alike than different.
Muslims cover the hair, as it's a commandment from God. However we don't wear wigs as now when u see Jewish women it's practically the same as their own natural hair which I don't understand how that's modesty. Instead as a Muslim I cover my hair with hijab and cover our whole body including And sometimes face. This is modesty.
orthodox girls are awesome, they have not just inner beauty but something that i can't explain. There is no drama, no narcissism, no crazy whinny, attention seeking. You can tell them how beautiful they look and they say thank you. Its not, you're looking at me you're a stalker, im gonna call the police. The way they raise children is just magic
The western world is one big experiment when it comes to marriage, family values, the role of a man / woman etc. it is extremely important to insulate oneself from the current culture we live in. You deserve all the respect to keep doing what you do.
My church follows holiness standards. Like you, we don't expose knees or elbows. We test our necklines by bending forward to make sure it won't expose us, and we make sure our shirts won't expose our abdomen if we move around a lot. The main difference though, is we do not cover our hair. We also do not wear any makeup or jewelry, or cut or dye our hair. When we fix our hair, we steer clear of any seductive styles. We aim to look clean, hygeinic, natural, of a modest spirit and appearance, etc. So we do something you don't, and vice versa.
Damaris yes! We all sense what it IS to be modest. For some it’s okay wearing makeup, but covering hair and covering of layers of clothes. But for others it’s downplaying THOSE very things. The Old Testament describes a wife of noble character in the final chapter of Proverbs. In the New...good works should be evident, instead of expensive or elaborate jewelry, clothes, and hair. We only have so much time in a day. Setting holy priorities is key to a Godly woman, and it’s fun learning what women decide that is for themselves. For myself, it changes a bit with age. I cover my head when I fast. I loved your comment. Blessings to us all 🖖
Why do many Orthodox Jewish women cut their hair off and then wear a wig? Why not just wear a scarf and keep their hair for their husband that way, if they want to?
Viewers, please remember that that is a very wide spectrum not only of beliefs but of practices too. Some Jews are orthodox but practice in a more secular manner. Every Jew is going to have a different belief system and practice differently. Hey, some Jews even believe that Jesus is the son of God, which might suggest that they should not be Jewish. Jews are a very heterogeneous group. They are rich. They are poor. They are democrat and republican. They serve in the military and even work in restaurants. Do not try to paint Jews with one brush stroke because it is simply not possible. Hope this helps.
Public consumption? who is consuming hair??? Your hair is not dirty or something to be shamed of. When was the last time you heard of raping a woman because of her hair? These traditions are invented by men.
In reality God wants modesty in women dressing style . A women should not be an object of temptation to any man . I believe this with all my heart . I am a man and believe even the man has to be careful in the way he dresses himself . However I also believe that we should request of God the knowledge to carry ourselves in our whole lifestyle . If we ask Him he will give us understanding from above . Unfortunately the world has replaced true knowledge from God with the knowledge from the dark side , and that is why the whole world is in such a sad condition .Darkness has filled the minds of mankind and we are paying a heavy price for it . This is why peace has left the world and goodness is hardly found .And the almighty looked down from heaven and behold darkness filled the earth .
You ladies have a lot of make-up and huge earrings and are telling us you want to look ‘modest ‘??!...?? Your thick make-up and dark lipstick will not attract the other men, but your hair ( most natural part of human body, not something unique to women) will ..?.. Come on !...
it's 2017. hearing that a woman has nightmares about uncovering her hair in public gives me the chills. especially when she's been wearing her hair uncovered until the day she got married. hair is just keratin, just like hair on your arm, legs, facial hair etc. it's on your head for protection against sun and extreme weather, a remnant of what human body used to be in the beginning (as in, covered in fur). freedom isn't about the 1000 way you can tie your tichel, it's about being at liberty to decide if one day you want to cover your head and the next day you don't, without the fear of being judged by people in your cocoon community or out in the real world. dressing modestly is another topic that makes me giggle. if you're covering your elbows, collar bones and knees in the summer while everyone else is wearing a t-shirt and jeans then you're the one standing out, drawing attention to yourself because you're dressed differently, and there ends your modesty because everyone is looking at you. it might work in your cocoon community but not outside of it. a modest person doesn't try to draw attention to herself, tries to meld. if 99% of women were naked and you were the one dressed, you'd be the non modest person. it's not about conformity, it's about not drawing attention
A lot of the things that are said in this video are inaccurate. For example, married women do not cover their hair for their husband. This is a very common misconception and many women reject the commandment because of it. It's really a shame that the yeshivas dont teach these things..
I believe in this expression of modesty for women who love The Holy One of Israel. It is not oppressive and it absolutely does restore dignity to the women who live this and understand this principle. A woman who exposes her body to the world, can neither be Godly or beautiful.
being "modest" as a free thinker in a free world is one thing. Being "modest" because a religion or community imposes it on you because of your gender is another thing. BTW I've had married, Hassidic MEN hit on me while you are home being modest. But I'm no adulterer neither are Hassidics my cup of tea, lucky for you
O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful. [Al Ahzab : 59]
I think this is narcissistic. Why does she assume the rest of the world will suddenly be interested in her hair just because she got married? 'My hair is not for public consumption' Madam, the rest of the world doesn't care a dime about your hair. If you want cover it, but please don't be so self conterei.
These women do not look ethnic or sun and desert indigenous but simply european these are not ISREALITES from bible but khzar converts from 9th century from europe. EVEN THE SCARVES DONT MAKE THEM LOOK ETHNIC
The whole clothing thing is rubbish. Who cares what her hair looks like it's got nothing to do with modesty. It's her hair fir gods sake. These woman just look frumpy and unhappy. It's the same as the Muslims. Your religion is in your heart you don't have to dress a certain way to show what religion they are. And life is not only about religion it's a part of life if you want it.

Hi There - can you please contact me about the fact that you've taken my videos without permission for this? I'm actually not Hasidic....
+Andrea Grinberg
I was wondering if you were Chasidic. I was going to say if you were, I would become one!
+Elisheva Bat-Sha'ul actually same here! Andrea is such an inspiration in my life :)
Contact You Tube with a complaint and it will be taken down.
+Elisheva Bat-Sha'ul why do hasidics hate christians? why wont they be friends with them ?
+James McKay
Because of the whole believing in Jesus as the Messiah thing. Jews generally don't believe this while it is the foundation of Christianity. If you ask me, this whole feud is sad and pointless.
I am for modesty, for me and women. Also the bible in the new testament says for a women to cover her hair ONLY when she is praying or prophesying.
Rivka malka! Love her and have learned and adopted so much from her videos! All these women i respect for their beautiful ways
Modesty is freedom and dignity.

No they aren't, what are you basing this on?
Yeah but Muslim women don't give birth every week.
stupid, no one does.
Yes you are absolutely correct they come from the same area, share the same values, traditions, and very similar cultures. It is not stirring the pot they are more alike than different.

It's so similar to what muslims women say about their clothes, marriage and behaviour....Very interesting.
My church follows holiness standards. Like you, we don't expose knees or elbows. God only looks at the heart, not what u wear or what u look like

Our choices and how we present ourselves reflect our heart.
Damaris , there are certainly more similarities than differences here.

Lynn you child of Satan. Your soul has no value. You are DUST PARTICLES ✌️
In Islam covering of hairs is applicable to both married or un married
Sajjad Mohammad To be able to be free to cover up or not is up to the woman. Not for the sake of any religion or for a man. No one owns us.
Why do many Orthodox Jewish women cut their hair off and then wear a wig? Why not just wear a scarf and keep their hair for their husband that way, if they want to?
It's just hair!!! oh my gosh.
Estella Edwards , these religious women have every Constitutional right to dress the way they do.
Estella Edwards research and release them to live they way the want.
Its Just a religion!!! Oh my gosh
I agree though and I'm not even jewish but I like Jewish people.
Lynnie you don't even exist for Chasidics...no jew (Chasidic) would even want or acknowledge you!
What do you mean by "Jewish people". Jewish people, cover the spectrum. There is no one "Jewish people".
Viewers, please remember that that is a very wide spectrum not only of beliefs but of practices too. Some Jews are orthodox but practice in a more secular manner. ...and do you have a dignified place for Gay Jews also???...
There are also gay Jews. Again, point is that Jews are diverse.
Public consumption? who is consuming hair??? Your hair is not dirty or something to be shamed of. When was the last time you heard of raping a woman because of her hair? These traditions are invented by men.
I do not like to see women exposing wearing 'seductive' clothing; I will look the other way. I always have worn modest clothing all my life.
In reality God wants modesty in women dressing style . A women should not be an object of temptation to any man . I believe this with all my heart . Same as Muslims ...why they fight if they the same??
IS this ALL from TORAH, or is there some Talmud in there?
