Shabani was lazy that day, but jumped up when her daughter Annie caught her hand in the door.
He reacted very quickly to his daughter's trouble.
He is a very good father.

Shabani is a great dad!
I love Shabani’s protective relationship with Annie. She is Daddy’s girl! I often think ahead and reflect on how heartbroken Shabani will be when Annie has to leave to make her own family. I hope he and Ai can have another child at some point as I think that will help ease Shabanis heartache when the time of separation from Annie comes.
Also, he’s such a fantastic dad he really ought to have more children. As a bonus,
both he and his brother Haoko have proven that they can sire female babies and there a shortage of female gorillas in Japan. For Kiyomasa I think they will have to make arrangements outside of Japan if he is to have a mate as the bloodlines of presently available females in Japan are too closely related in Kiyomasas case but more females from shabani troop would benefit Gentaro and Kintaro (Kyoto City Zoo) as least as they mature. Also if they want to pair Monta? (Chiba Zoo) I don’t think Monta has any relations in the Shabani/Haoko bloodline. Whether Monta is somehow related to Momoko has always been unclear to me although I know they came together from Spain. 🦍♥️
Haoko is the all star female baby making pro! Haoko could probably use about 5 more wives!😂

Shabani rarely did that and now he doesn’t do it anymore. Sometimes he’s gromming her as her mother does not do that and some people with trash mind thinks he’s mate with her!

I don’t know how Gorillas act in the wild, but they seem bored and sad in captivity
I get nervous watching them climb so high. Seems risky to me. What if a rope or harness broke? It’s crazy how they dangle from the ceiling bars. Scary risky if you ask me.
Whenever Kiyo playful hits Nene it always looks to me like she is cursing him out. If only she had the words. It would be so funny. 😍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍
I could be so full of 💩here but this is just me thinking out loud 😊, Ai and Annie are becoming mother and daughter and maybe just maybe this will help Ai if and when she has another baby. Maybe she is missing the baby that she rejected at first. I am very hopeful that I’m on the right track with thinking 😜🤪on this one. Ai is giving Annie more and more love/attention and it doesn’t get any better then that.. I was watching an old video and Kiyomasa was at the milk bar and Annie was watching Nene and Kiyomasa so she walked over to Ai and kinda played at first then tried to get at the milk bar but Ai pushed her away a moved I cried so much.. I understand that gorilla’s are not humans and don’t think like me I do but that was so sad seeing Annie looking at Kiyomasa and Nene see just talking about it make’s me cry 😢..
I don't think you're full of it. Gorilla babies learn like humans. They copy what they see. I see Ai and Annie as becoming more friends. I've always wondered if Ai's lack of mothering behavior is a result of Nene's overbearing alpha female behavior vs an innate lack of maternal instinct on Ai's part. Clearly she knows how to care for others. I know Ai lost a baby before Annie. And again I'm wondering how much Nene's behavior had to play in that. Nene has shown she will get rid of anything that she she's interfering with Kiyomasa as heir apparent. (Momoko of the Haoko family did the same to Genki to keep her #1 position with silverback Bijou.) Just my thoughts.
Hey babe, I always felt so badly for Annie back then. No doubt ( as you wrote ) Annie saw the affection, protection and doting that Nene gave to Kiyomasa and I'm sure Annie's little heart was very confused and sad she didn't have a Mommy giving her the same love as Kiyomasa had.
Especially after Nene would attack Annie and Shabani would defend Annie and get rough with Nene, notice how Al and Kiyomasa would rush to tend to Nene and make sure she was OK while poor Annie would have to sit alone and self sooth. Annie looked so confused, terrified as sad sitting all alone watching everyone check on Nene and comfort her when Annie was attacked by Nene for either playing or defending herself from Kiyomasa.
I just wish I could hug her little fear and sadness away during those hard times. Annie was so tiny, younger and smaller then Kiyomasa, why Nene was so protective and violent with Annie was always a mystery to me because little Annie was not a threat to Kiyomasa being a year younger and much smaller.
Although those videos are still hard for me to watch, I have seen Annie still show Nene concern when she was sick or injured. Nene could never tolerate Annie, but even now people say Annie is a brat to Nene,well, I think Annie always craved Nene's affection and to be close to her. Like human kids, at times even bad attention is better then none. Annie tried many times to get close to Nene being kind, it never worked.I guess Annie gets frustrated seeing Kiyo so loved by Nene and Annie is ignored and Nene wants nothing to do with her. Annie has grown into a very sweet, strong and confident Gorilla-Girl. I think despite her not having Al be a Mother to her, she will be a great Mother. Annie loves sitting with Human Babies who visit and loves Children. I think Annie has Shabani's sweet and kind nature.
Also, Agree with you about the Kids leaving. I always thought they should have brought in a few younger Females to mate with Shabani years ago when it was apparent Al didn't have an interest in being a Mom and the age of Nene. (((Imagine Tayari hugging on Shabani!! He would love an affectionate and fun wife!! ))))
At least if Shabani had a few more Gorilla-Kids, when Kiyo and Annie leave, maybe having other kids there would give the adults a focus and distraction. Gorillas are so sensitive and hate change. Shabani lost tons of weight when they moved into the new home, When Kiyo and Annie leave, he will be heartbroken, confused and angry. I always felt Nene lives for Kiyomasa. She still protects and dotes on him. I always felt when he leaves, she will feel no reason to live without him. ( I hope I'm wrong!! ) It will be sad, 3 adults, no other kids. Shabani has great genes, sad to waste his chances of having more Gorilla=kids. Gorillas share our feelings, they get depressed and withdraw, I think this will drain their spirits and make them ill. I fear what will happen when Kiyo and Annie leave. Hoping there is a good plan in place for all of the Gorillas here because we all love them so much and want the best for them.
@@maryeddy4871 Mary, God bless you you said everything that I feel for the Shabani family troop,, Shabani would probably not know what to do with a wife like Tayari but I would love to see him with a loving wife like Tayari… I know Kiyomasa andAnnie have to move on and I hope with fingers crossed 🤞 Shabani, Nene, and Ai will be okay. @@yvonnejones9940 I can not agree more with you I don’t want anything to happen to Nene other then live a good long life,,, I just don’t like what she did to Annie and I agree she had Nene to be number 1 and Ai being a great daughter still to this day let Nene be mean to Annie and I think that’s why Ai will not mate with Shabani, somehow Nene has made sure of that. I think at 1st Shabani would be in shock with a Female as loving and affectionate as Tayari, but Shabani loves affection from others and I think after the initial shock, he would be so happy being pursued for once and would be showing off for his New Wifey! LOL! He is so funny and would thrive in the attention for once. He can do his funny chest beat, stubby leg kick/running in place for her. He use to show off in old home for the crowds, he loved hearing the crowd, "ohhhh & wowwww!!" when he would chest beat, throw a log or chase Nene. He knew the people were entertained by his stunts and loved their reactions. He is so funny and all males love to be doted on by females, his reactions would be so funny. I wonder why they call annie shabanis daughter? In my opinion that is wrong to do, because shabani constantly chases annie pinning her to the ground submitting her to mate her, it gives off the completely wrong impression.. a dad doesnt do that to his daughter, so why do they refer to them as such?? In my opinion thats very wrong to do...not to mention shabani and female a.i both look very off, im not sure what a gorilla mental handicap is called. But i have studied a.i and shabani for some time and both show signs of a mental handicap of some sort.
How do you come to that conclusion?
