We cancell directv years ago.....now we are super happy streaming from a Roku Pluto TV, Dust, Netflix,Butaca tv, Prende tv, and even you tube for documentaries...never going back.!
I had problems with AT&T direct tv with service, I was lied to by at least 3 agents on 3 separate occasions and did not get the problem resolved. I did cancel the service yesterday 10/1/19. The scam is as follows, I received a e-mail telling me I needed new equipment to continue receiving the local stations. I will post a vid this week end about the problems with their customer service.
DON’T BUY THE PROTECTION PLAN I am paying 20.00 a month I have a connection that after heavy rains it gets corrosion I finally fixed myself after calling them at least 30 x and they continually lied over a couple of weeks saying a repair crew was on the way I heard that at least 3x. The guy who finally showed up said he just happened to see the work order or no one would come out because there is no money to be made.I do live in a rural area.
DirecTV techs in some areas are paid by the type of work orders they close. In your case you had a service call that needed to be done, and service calls only pay $21.00 (that’s what the price was in 2018). Installs pay way more, so in reality fixing your tv would be a waste of time money wise.
TV wasn’t the issue connection by the dish was problem still is occasionally. The continuous lies and deceit on the phone calls was incredible this had obviously been in their training on how to handle these calls.
I think you feel the same way I do don't waste your money there are better things to buy with your money then expensive cable thank you for sharing your
What EQUIPMENT AND ACCESSORIES do you send back? I called DIRECT TV/AT&T for more detailed instructions since the one included with the “return kit” were crap! A man who was telling me instructions on the phone was (I assume) from India. I couldn’t understand most of what he was saying because of his accent. I asked to speak to someone else I could understand or a supervisor. He just kept repeating what he had already said. So, asked him to say it very slowly.......it didn’t help. I still couldn’t understand him. All I want to know is what “accessories” to return. There were cable/power supply cords that had Direct TV labels wrapped around the cords/cables. What other accessories (cables) do I include? The directions on the return box are PATHETIC!!!
Contract is auto renewed if any equipment is replaced with NEW equipment not refurbished equipment.. 3 months after 2 year contract was up..our receiver went out..Phone repair man said it would have to be replaced and that they would send out a new one...He Never Said That it would Automaticly start a NEW 2 YEAR CONTRACT.. Or that a REFURBISHED receiver would Not cause a new contract....
DirecTV keeps asking “ still watching?” And if you don’t answer ,it automatically changes the channel. Blind man gets tv channel changed in the middle of listening to the tv
I’ve been with DTV for decades now. For most of that time they had excellent service and great rates. Once ATT bought them, it went straight to crap. I think they made the acquisition just to run DTV into the ground to eliminate it as competition. Reminds me a bit locally of how the company bought Art Van and basically drained it then shut it down.
@@jokerjoey8793 If you’re with DTV, you should really call and try to get a better rate by threatening to drop you service. There’s stories all over like mine where people are getting significant rate savings with no contract.

Yeah. Just don't sign up ever. Get a radio for news. Rent DVDs for films. Basic channels are free.

They charge my mom $140 a month we are leaving and going to hulu TV live after 20 years being with them they give us no loyalty discount
Try getting a indoor/outdoor antenna first, they are the best antennas.
This is the sign of a dying business model.

If you have auto withdraw and cancel ATT , they will charge you until the billing cycle is over, that can be one month.

I like all the Christian channels we get on Direct. I take up.for Direct TV but I have not tried to cancel yet.
We sent them the boxes and being charged for the boxes. We used FedEx now we dont have a receipt how do we fix this issue?
