Wow. You must obviously be, or have been, a manufacturing engineer for the company that manufactures this remote control. Your instructions were absolutely perfect. I had no trouble following them cleaned everything up and now I’m getting ready for final test. Even if it doesn’t work, your video was absolutely exact. Thank you.
@@KenOcon-uz3dl Actually I’m an eye surgeon. I won’t throw anything away until I have tried to repair it. From a 240Z transmission to a microscope. It’s surprising how many things you can fix if you just try.
Thank you so very much. I couldn't get the guide button to work or how to take it apart. This worked like a charm! Saved me from buying a new remote. Thank you!
Thanks! I just cleaned two remotes that were not working, now working. I found it easier and faster to just snap off the black and white parts in a single step without separating the two.
Thanks so much for the upload it worked for me. All I had to do was put my credit card where you showed to place it and push forward and inward and pretty much everything just popped open and came apart. Didn't have to push in any tabs or anything.
even with all this, i cant get my tiny flathead screwdriver to budge the black plate apart or not scuff up the smooth edges. wish you had actually videotaped you working the plates apart.
This is a very educational video but unfortunately the remote I have is just slightly different! Instead of the single screw it has 2 to the side, instead of tabs interlocking the white part to the black the black is covering a sunken tab to separate the whole bottome as one piece and at the top of the black part is a screw keeping it to the circuit board 😢. I was looking for this after my remote took an acedental coffee bath in hopes that taking it apart would help the rice get into those hard to reach places, but I think I just need to accept that my remote is doomed and just pay up for the replacement. This video was still helpful though and people like you Making 😢videos like this make the world a better more livable place
WHAT YOU DIDNT SHOW WAS HOW TO REMOVE OR ATTACH THE SMALL BLACK PIECE AT THE TOP UNDER THE ON AND OFF BUTTONS. NOBODY SHOWS HOW TO REPLACE IT OR REMOVE IT. MINE IS MISSING AND I WANT TO REPLACE IT FROM ANOTHER REMOTE THAT WAS CRUSHED, BUT THE TOP SMALL BLACK PIECE IS FINE.
Did not work for me. I was even able to view the tab. I think the tab was glued. Also, the black part just wouldn't release, even with good tools. This is the model RC73, not the 72. : )

Great job showing how to do this.

Thanks for your kind words.
Thank you!
i fr couldn't get it open so i just slammed my remote on the ground, it seems to have done the same thing just fine
Why not just remove the black and white top parts as a unit?
I can’t remember! Try it.
Some decent info, but you never show how you actually opened the remote. Not super helpful.

It just snaps out, pry from the top with a flat blade screwdriver.
