At the beginning of the film, you can see from above a neglected man returning home. Then we see a scared woman (look at her face). I think the man (husband) shot the women (wife). That's why she wanted the children to go away fast and far, so that he would't find them (and kill them too).

This short film is a proof that one doesn't need hours to incite intense emotions, sometimes a minute is enough!
A mother’s willing sacrifice. Still afraid for herself but able to face anything knowing her daughters are safe. Obviously they had done this before but she knew this time was for real. What great acting. I cried.

Very compelling film. Sad. But certainly powerful and compelling.
I have my own interpretation to this one.
It may represent the fear and anxiety experienced by a mother when seeing her children leaving home to find their own life path, as part of the natural growing process. They might be old enough to do so, but in her eyes they remain vulnerable kids. Great short anyway.

I loved the film but there is one thing that stuck in my head. That is, the reason why he shot her is not is unclear because it is not told or implied in any way. I really wonder this was inevitable due to the nature of the short films i.e. shortness of duration. Or is this just an unimportant detail ? @carlosarfilm
That's right, in some one-minute films you often have to suggest rather than develop the story. The brevity forces the focus on a conflicting situation and the viewer continues with the puzzle in his or her mind. There are stories that can be told in their entirety. But what is clear is that the protagonist is not going to have an act of dramatic transformation due to the brevity of the duration.

Over mine too. At first I thougth the mom was deliberately sending her children into the woods to get lost (literally) - remember the french tale TomThumb? Poor people do that sometimes.

How long does it take to edit a 1 minute shot film?
In this particular case 1 week but it depends on the type of pace and number of shots and VFX your film demands.
@@carlosarfilm I can relate so I'm surprised when I heard someones saying that it's 1 hour of editing a 1 minute film I mean really?
@googleuser9171 Agreed the point is that editing is not only the art of pasting shots, it's also about taking distance, thinking, integrating retakes, making versions. Yes, technically you can edit a one minute short film in half an hour but that will only be a rough cut.
