Get some additional, varying sizes Flathead and Phillips bits while you're at it.
The adjustable wrenches I use (instead of hex nut wrenches) are Husky, but these (with the red insert) work very well... 6-inch will be used the most:

If you prefer to use hex nut wrenches, I'd recommend angled/offset ones, like these:

or a pass-through socket wrench set, like this:

I might be wrong, but I think that Okuma crank handle unscrews instead of just pulling it off. Loved the video by the way. Thank you.

it unscrews counterclockwise. Never saw this on any other leverdrag.

Shoot, you might be right..... I never tried it..... I should have. 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️.... isn't it amazing the corner we paint ourselves in sometimes.... unable to see past one solution?

I remember the Makaira handle unscrewing, and probably a couple other reels, but I completely forgot about it since I don't see many... rookie mistake I shouldn't have made.... think I was in too much of a rush (which I RARELY do) and too confident for my own good.... happens..... the customer said he had another, so I'll double check the removal of the handle if he brings it in for service..... and I'll record it for y'all.

i know the new trend is braid spooled smaller is better but i want this 20 just to spool 50lb 300yrds mono. but that thing is massive.

Thanks for checking out the video. Maybe find a smaller reel that can cater to your needs, then. Try Avet.

The handle actually is screwed in. Strange but my new Makaira SEA's are the same. I've fished the Solterra a couple times and while we caught a lot of fish I wasn't in love with it. I don't really like the graphite frame reels even though I understand the price point is much more attractive. I got the same kind of feeling on the TLD's where it doesn't feel so solid. Kind of wobbly and flexy would be my scientific description. This particular size covers a lot of bases though. The same as I'd use like a Makaira 10ii for and the times I've used them on my friends boat we hammered dolphin on the troll.

Hey Jeff. I get you..... see the other comments in this video about the handle. I like the TLD 20's & 25's for trolling and casting for dolphin... personal preference.... a Makaira 10 would probably feel too small to me for trolling.

@@TSGReelService yeah I don't really troll with a Makaira 10ii you're right about that! I meant more comparable in what line weight you'd fish with them, not the exact types of fishing but I should have been clearer for sure. I just meant the line weight covers a lot of bases. The Makaira 10 is a jig and live baiting reel for me. 8 foot rod usually whether fly lining a bait or casting/dropping jigs. Trolling I use the Makaira 20's and 30's or if needed the 50's. I like the 20 size actually if it's particularly Dolphin I'm targeting. Still plenty of line if a bigger wahoo eats or a good sailfish. Targeting Tuna I'll run 30's and 50's. These graphite frame reels definitely still get bit they just have a feel I don't like. For the money though it gets you into the offshore world at a great price. On the West Coast right now you can't get on a boat without seeing the Fathoms because of the price point. Aluminum frame but same idea with the price point. Guys are catching 150+ pound Tuna on the Fathom 40 & 60 regularly. Enjoy the videos!

Thanks brother. And thanks for clarifying.... I did misunderstand that part. Interesting to hear Triton Lever Drags got knocked off their pedestal.
I know what you mean about the "flex" feel of graphite. To me the TLD20 was the most secure-feeling of the line.
Thanks again for the conversation and feedback on the handle. It was silly and shortsighted on my part..... humans! 🙂
