    ----
    LYRICS:
All out of exits, all out of enemies
You built this prison and buried the key
I’ve given up on giving in
Temptation mocks me from a distance, but I won’t let it win
This thin façade could never last
Like a snake that sheds its skin, illusions shatter like glass
The sceptic inside me believes what he knows
Cynically silent but with nothing to show
The devil beside me is whispering doubt in my ear
I’ll keep pretending not to hear
So here I am for what it’s worth
I spilled my blood against the earth
Just to see the world in colour
Dead; left for dead and left to rot
A tainted memory, an empty afterthought
I’d lay my whole life on the line just to see this through
If it consumes me, let the script upon my tomb read:
I found my love and let it kill me
“Beg and plead, your own ambition brought you to your knees
Beg and plead, you built this prison, and buried the key”
A momentary lapse, the colours fade to grey
As if the world we knew was never meant to be
I know I’ll pay for my mistakes,
just promise me you’ll take my word and take my everything
So here I am for what it’s worth
I spilled my blood against the earth
Just to see the world in colour
So give me all you came here for
Give me hell and give me war
I’ll be waiting for an answer
I found my love and let it kill me

but i am missing some stories behind nowadays metal music videos....
looking back at freak on a leash (played in a bedroom with a little girl punished by her dad) oder make me bad from korn (okay maybe the budget for this one was a little bit higher) .... or music videos from other bands..... today its only "ah here is a good location..... a forest, or a destroyed concrete background" or if theres nothing around they take a black background or white background with nothing .... you dont need hollywood. but a little story about the lyrics, please. these / letz call it "underground" bands want to be heard. and they say, that the lyrics are meaningful.... so fucking show it to us man ! btw the most stupid way to express your song is the way parkway drive did it, with the ugly face of the singer. powerful instrumentals, powerful lyrics as always. 10$ black/white music video. fuck it.

I am not kidding, that riff woke me out a deep sleep. The pleasure center in my brain lit up to the point where it woke me up. Crazy lol.

Not once did I consider checking out the lyrics, being that my narrow mind assumed they were probably some generic and stereotypical lyrics. I have never been so wrong. These lyrics are beautiful and I’m going to spend the next hour analyzing all of the lyrics on this album! I had no idea Jamie was such a talented lyricist! I love how songs like “sonder” can be interpreted in a ton of different ways! Polaris is almost on par with silent planet in terms of lyrics!

I saw this band on tour opening for parkway drive and August burns red in 2017 and man was I grateful to find out about them. I starting listening to them prior to seeing the show to get a preview of what I would get and man needless to say when I saw that show it was and still is the best metal show I ever seen in my life. Parkway drive, August burns red, the devil wears Prada and polaris.
    TNEY FUCKING NAILED IT.
Glad to see people still eating there music up.

    [Intro]
All out of exits, all out of enemies
You built this prison and buried the key
    [Verse 1]
I’ve given up on giving in
Temptation mocks me from a distance
But I won’t let it, win
This thin façade could never last
Like a snake that sheds its skin
    Illusions shatter like glass
The sceptic inside me believes what he knows
Cynically silent but with nothing to show
The devil beside me is whispering doubt in my ear
I’ll keep pretending not to hear
    [Chorus]
So here I am for what it’s worth
I spilled my blood against the earth
Just to see the world in colour (the world in colour)
    [Verse 2]
Dead; left for dead and left to rot
A tainted memory, an empty afterthought
I’d lay my whole life on the line just to see this through
If it consumes me, let the script upon my tomb read:
I found my love and let it kill me
    [Breakdown]
I found my love and let it, kill, me
    [Verse 3]
“Beg and plead, your own ambition brought you to your knees
Beg and plead, you built this prison, and buried the key”
    [Bridge]
A momentary lapse, the colours fade to grey...
As if the world we knew was never meant to be...
I know I’ll pay for my mistakes
    Just promise me you’ll take
Take my word and take my everything
    [Chorus]
So here I am for what it’s worth
I spilled my blood against the earth
Just to see the world in colour (the world in colour)
So give me all you came here for
Give me hell and give me war
I’ll be waiting for an answer
    [Breakdown]
I found my love and let it kill, me

GOD THOSE LYRICS ARE SICK. Always a fan of music and message. ❤️🤘🏻
"An artist’s duty, as far as I’m concerned, is to reflect the times. I think that is true of painters, sculptors, poets, musicians. As far as I’m concerned, it’s their choice, but I CHOOSE to reflect the times and situations in which I find myself. That, to me, is my duty. And at this crucial time in our lives, when everything is so desperate, when everyday is a matter of survival, I don’t think you can help but be involved. Young people, black and white, know this. That’s why they’re so involved in politics. We will shape and mold this country or it will not be molded and shaped at all anymore. So I don’t think you have a choice. How can you be an artist and NOT reflect the times?" -Nina Simone.

This fucking album.... I couldnt stop listening to it all day at work! Riffs are so sick and heavy, and the vocals are so energetic and angsty while the choruses are very smooth, melodic and emotional. Then the heavy riff that comes in after right after the chorus is like a punch to the gut to get you bent over and fucking moshing.
Beautiful song writing from start to finish. There isnt a song that sounds 'out of place' on this album. The only negative I can think of about this album is i now have to wait another year or two for the next album :( *FUCK MY LIFE*

I have loved this band since first hearing them in 2017 with the release of The Mortal Coil. They have come so far and deserve all the recognition they have been getting lately! With the passing of Ryan we are all in mourning but it’s nice to see everyone reflect back on their previous work. He lives on through their beautiful music! Very excited for the new album! Stay strong fellas! 🖤🙏🏻
