Can you elaborate on the steps after you reach the N/E pillar on a late wave on a double south spawn? I think the only time I tried this the issue was the minotaur can path around that side of the N/E pillar right? Because you've wasted a chunk of time running I don't think you'd have dealt with that B spawn by the time renforcements arrive. Can you corner trap the mino if you stand on the most north-east tile of the N/E pillar? I don't like to leave things to chance and hope he's off-ticked
The NE pillar sneak is exactly what I was looking for when I don't want to flick A+B spawns. I guess the only problem is when the minotaur spawns with a shaman and you have a ranger or manticore spawned on B attacking you from south of the NE pillar on the same tick as the shaman/minotaur? So you need to kill the B spawn really fast or tank in that case, right?
Yeah thats why running northeast doesnt *always* work. If you're in max gear, you can usually kill the B spawn asap. But in a budget gear setup there is no way to meet that dps check. Offticking, or multiple pillar hops will most likely be necessary in a budget run. The only time a minotaur spawns with a mage buddy is wave 10+11. So if you find yourself booking it to the NE pillar on either of those waves, your best bet is to nuke down the B-spawn minion when it reaches your pillar before the minotaur spawns. If you're worried about dps, or just want a backup plan in general, start mentally preparing yourself to run southeast once the minotaur spawns (be fully topped off, investigate your wave layout, and mentally prepare how you are going to pray when traveling south)

Stick with this method and just upgrade my mage gear with Ancestral and Sang, and maybe get a Blade of Saeldor and some SGS/Eldritch specs? I haven’t played in a long time and just came back a week ago. After watching some OSRS streams and videos, I want to try this.

TY :) I used less than 500 trident charges per run. I didn't count specifically. But if you use a whip for most isolated monsters, the trident charges arent bad at all! I plan to have the boss up tomorrow :)
For whatever reason you can splash when using ancients on the melee fremmy, I forget if this is an auto cast bug but powered staves don’t seem to have this problem. Stopped using ancients awhile ago because it was throwing me off. Would rather just consistently 2-shot with trident or sang staff
Dude I like your guides, but you're getting spooned waves all the time. I'm at a point where I can solve complicated stacks without too much trouble, but I keep getting my ass kicked kicked by double south spawns, while likely also splashing the freeze on the fremmys :) Seriously, somehow they're a guaranteed freeze on wave 1, but any time there's a double spawn I'm lucky if I get one of them. If I get cocky taking volatility + quartet thinking those are free invos, that's just asking to get my run ended. Maybe I'll try running NE next time, but you have to do that immediately after all the minions spawn, right? If the manticores are already charging up it's probably too late to dodge enough damage while running over.
I found out you need to run to the NW pillar on tick 5, not 1. Maybe that’s messing you up. Also in the event of double manticore spawns south, immediately book it to NE pillar. You don’t have much time so be quick. Gl bro, I got to sol yesterday for the first time.
Here is an example timestamp in my last video where I had a nasty double-manticore spawn and we ran immediately Northeast. Maybe this will help with the timing? @@badatlms Nah I'm pretty sure I'm getting the 5-tick wave start right, that still doesn't guarantee you won't get double spawns on A + B tiles. That situation seems to be a lot more common than these guides are making it seem, either that or I'm very unlucky lol. I'm not that worried about A and B both being manticores since those should have attacks offset from one another (and you have to get to 2x manticore wave first), it's usually another combo that messes me up. Especially when one of them is the 1x1 mager, it seems like the tiles that people use for off-ticking the spawns only work when both minions are 3x3.

Idk why it's only happening to me, but I have 90% on wave 6 a shaman spawning on A and a ranger on B. The other ranger and manticore are north. The shaman then blocks the ranger for some ticks, messing up the flicking, sometimes they start attacking on the same tick -> GG. I can't go north of the pillar, because then I have to deal with the frems, manticore and ranger + the jaguar warrior. This wave always messes things up. After that I have no issues getting to wave 10
Wave 6 can be a pain because theres so many monsters. Lets assune you get a ranger+mage south spawn. I recommend dealing with the fremmys then killing mager or ranger asap. If u kill ranger before the jaguar spawns, youre good. If you cant kill ranger in time, you might want to run south AFTER the recruits spawn. A nasty spawn like that on wave 6 often requires offticking at least until the recruitments spawn, at which point you need to reevaluate if running south is a good option or not depending on how much dps you managed to do.

Im an iron and this is very similar to my gear but I have bowfa and crystal. Would you recommend subbing it for a couple restores/brews, or taking it over the ahrims and just barraging without a robe set? Im thinking the latter because I dont actually have Ahrims myself, I just have mystic top and blue moon tassets, but what do you think? PS. Ive been LOVING your guides for CoX! The barraging is really only used for healing without using brews. So I guess with that logic, the ahrims isnt actually necessary, just speeds up your healing a bit. Bowfa is significantly faster than non-shadow mage setups. I tried to melee/whip whenever possible as long as it was 1v1 isolated monsters. GL!

I like mage build for the waves, it's the easiest method by far. Sol heredit can be killed with any slash weapon, even a whip. I'd go for shadow over scythe if you're looking for the easiest method to win

A lot of people have been asking for a budget run. I am considering making a guide on how to solve nasty spawns, but I have not got around to making that yet.
Monsters cannot spawn near your starting location when the wave begins. If we do a tick perfect engage from the engage tile, the only possible monster spawns that can see us are monsters that spawn on either A or B. This significantly simplifies most waves
The way I understand it, all 3 offensive prayers (piety, rigour, and augury) give 25% defense bonus. Augury also gives 25% magic defense on top of that, so I like to use augury just incase I accidentally take a mage hit as well.

Fang might be better than whip. Not 100% sure. But the final boss is super weak to slash so really you want the best slash weapon you can afford (scy, blade, whip, etc.)

@jdturkdrcox ya the shit on the floor is really annoying. Personally, I try to avoid solar flare. Ik some ppl say it's free, but it's pretty annoying on the boss. Besides that, I try to rotate as soon as I start getting pushed into a wall. Rotate early if you can. Nothing worse than getting backed into a wall and the boss throws a shield2 >.
I'm thinking yes?? IDK I havent tried it. The main point of the mage gear is to use your blood barrage for some easy healing without brews. So I'm sure if you dont mind wasting a few extra minutes it should be no big deal at all! GL :)

Man, I appreciate the runs but please stop calling these "guides" and showing bad habits. So often you're running pillars and tanking hits when you don't need to. You also aren't showing any of the waves people trip up on. Maybe do a couple runs so you can show the tough waves instead of "another spooned wave" over and over. There's not a ton to learn from and some bad advice ruining between pillars. Also maybe turning brightness down in 117. Keep up the content though
These strategies have helped many people get their first quiver. Pillar hopping is a very simple technique to solve waves, and one of the biggest hurdles new players face while getting into high level content is learning how to prayer flick, or how to move correctly in order to setup offticks. It often turns people off of high level pvm entirely. I do not plan to show prayer flicking techniques in many of my guides, because I want to encourage new players to get into this type of content, and show that it can be done with minimal effort. You don't like spooned waves, but the beauty of the tick perfect engage method is that significantly more times than not we will automatically get easy-to-solve waves. If you get a bad wave spawn, you are forced into 2 different scenarios: offtick, or switch pillars. I have described why I plan to steer clear of offticking methods (I dont want to intimidate new players) and have gone into full detail in multiple guides as to which pillar is safe to move to, when its safe to move there, and why that specific pillar was chosen.
@@VideoGameBot I understand you want to make things harder than they seem, but you're giving newer players more hurdles and making them tank hits for no reason. You can even say it's to "avoid offticks" but you pretty much have to learn offticks because its built into the manticore normal attack. You *have*to flick the manticore, so you should encourage it instead of avoiding it like you say. But easy examples like a simple destack on your wave 8 stack is just moving between 2 tiles and taking no damage instead of yoloing across the map, it doesn't help new players it will lead to deaths and confusion when it's an easy 0 damage stack. Wave 11 the manticore ranger is another stack to show easily. A lot of these pillar stacks free the NE enemy so you can easily ruin a "spooned" wave. It makes it a lot harder for new people. That second paragraph doesn't help anyone. Showing people the stuff they suffer from will help. I'm not trying to be rude, just some helpful advice.

When you explain running NE due to A+B spawn, do you take care of fremmy's on NW tower beforehand or prioritize running NE?
If i have a bowfa, do i just replace the trident with the bowfa? should i bother bringing in crystal armour?
Is rapier or fang better than tent whip?
Fang might be better than whip. Not 100% sure. But the final boss is super weak to slash so really you want the best slash weapon you can afford (scy, blade, whip, etc.)

@jdturkdrcox ya the shit on the floor is really annoying. Personally, I try to avoid solar flare. Ik some ppl say it's free, but it's pretty annoying on the boss.
Besides that, I try to rotate as soon as I start getting pushed into a wall. Rotate early if you can. Nothing worse than getting backed into a wall and the boss throws a shield2 >.

I'm thinking yes?? IDK I havent tried it. The main point of the mage gear is to use your blood barrage for some easy healing without brews. So I'm sure if you dont mind wasting a few extra minutes it should be no big deal at all!

Man, I appreciate the runs but please stop calling these "guides" and showing bad habits. So often you're running pillars and tanking hits when you don't need to. You also aren't showing any of the waves people trip up on. Maybe do a couple runs so you can show the tough waves instead of "another spooned wave" over and over. There's not a ton to learn from and some bad advice ruining between pillars.
Also maybe turning brightness down in 117.

These strategies have helped many people get their first quiver. Pillar hopping is a very simple technique to solve waves, and one of the biggest hurdles new players face while getting into high level content is learning how to prayer flick, or how to move correctly in order to setup offticks. It often turns people off of high level pvm entirely. I do not plan to show prayer flicking techniques in many of my guides, because I want to encourage new players to get into this type of content, and show that it can be done with minimal effort.
You don't like spooned waves, but the beauty of the tick perfect engage method is that significantly more times than not we will automatically get easy-to-solve waves. If you get a bad wave spawn, you are forced into 2 different scenarios: offtick, or switch pillars. I have described why I plan to steer clear of offticking methods (I dont want to intimidate new players) and have gone into full detail in multiple guides as to which pillar is safe to move to, when its safe to move there, and why that specific pillar was chosen.
Where's your guides then? Show them how to play "correctly".
@@VideoGameBot I understand you want to make things harder than they seem, but you're giving newer players more hurdles and making them tank hits for no reason.
You can even say it's to "avoid offticks" but you pretty much have to learn offticks because its built into the manticore normal attack. You *have*to flick the manticore, so you should encourage it instead of avoiding it like you say.
But easy examples like a simple destack on your wave 8 stack is just moving between 2 tiles and taking no damage instead of yoloing across the map, it doesn't help new players it will lead to deaths and confusion when it's an easy 0 damage stack.
Wave 11 the manticore ranger is another stack to show easily.
A lot of these pillar stacks free the NE enemy so you can easily ruin a "spooned" wave. It makes it a lot harder for new people.
That second paragraph doesn't help anyone. Showing people the stuff they suffer from will help.
