- "The Last Ronin" is a super emotional and captivating mini-series with our beloved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. While the story is fantastic and amazing, it's also super sad as most of our favorite turtle characters meet brutal deaths, leaving April as the only survivor. Despite the heartbreaking storyline, it's a must-read for TMNT fans.

I think Raphael’s is the saddest even in the end he let his emotions get to him and that’s what caused his death

Considering the fact he took on the Whole clan and put Karai on Deaths door, i think if the rest of his brothers joined/helped out they wouldve won and taken out the Foot Clan for good then and rhere.
Yeah, but he also broke the treaty by trying to kill Karai, made things worse, and more or less started the whole thing.
Raph's my favorite, love that big dick energy, but...he messed up.
@@elisabethpuckno Karai was the one who broke the treaty the Turtles were ambushed and Splinter was nearly killed which is what lead to Ralphael taking on the whole Foot Clan and nearly killing Karai

I mean if it came out back when everyone were kids and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were still at their peak, a lot of people would have cried of raw depression and sadness and marked the franchise as a legend if that turned out the case.

As someone that grew up during the 80s with TMNT, this is crazy to see how raw the comic actually was. Cause even in the old comics they were in fact raw. Blood, guts and tears. I need to get this comic series just to have it.
I found the last ronin book at Walmart I would get it but I’m poor

I always new Michael Angelo would be the last turtle surviving. He’s always been my favorite aswell. People think he’s the weakest link because he’s goofy, in reality he is extremely skilled and knows when he needs to be serious. This comic have Michael Angelo a spot light i never thought he would have.
Another Michael angelo believer. I've always loved him when I was a kid watching tent, and it's very touching seeing how he carried the memory of his family with him (through their weapons)
Raph was always my favorite...when i first started reading the series i thought it was going to be about Splinter dying...i thought he was the last ronin...when Raph died i was really shocked...i love that book especially at the end when they show them all back together in NYC and drawn like they were in the early years...i teared up at the last scenes
It was so good. Are you reading The Lost Years too? It tells the story of what Mikey got up to during the 14 years he went missing.

Growing up with mainly the 2003 TMNT, this comic was heart-ripping for me, nevertheless it really is the peak of TMNT. I think cuz of the 1987 series people forget that TMNT is a saga of dark nature, which 2003 (and 2012 at times) were able to return and redeem the franchise to its true glory

I think the last 3 seasons of the original series were trying to become close to the original comics.
Starting with season 8, the whole tone of the show was darker than the previous 7.
The show only took place at night.
Pizza was never seen again (or barely mentioned at all).
Mikey wasn't as goofy anymore.
The turtles were on the run from the law after the channel 6 building was destroyed until the end of the series.
All the goofy characters were never seen again, or the 4 main bad guys from the first season were written out of the show after season 8.
Lord Dregg was a darker antagonist than Shredder and Krang.
I could be wrong about this last one, but I think Michaelangelo and Donatello actually did kill Dregg at the very end of the series.
Definitely can't wait to see how the game version turns out!
Really hope it lives up to all the hype.

This comic make me learn that in this world, there is no place to be weak and you could be in a situation were you fight alone to acheive your goals. It tell me to not give up, it just hits hard,Very emotional story.
Raph is a M.A.Y.U.N he took on a whole clan with over 200 members and won and killed their leader this shows why he is him

Raphael as always being my favourite Turtle but I always knew anger would be his downfall. Even in the 90s live action he almost dies.
After all these years, we're getting a brand new group of turtles in The Last Ronin 2.

Wish they would have swapped Leo and Raph's deaths. Leo deserved the final showdown much more and it would have been cool to see his scwoed be broken in the 1v1. Would have felt more appropriate for Raph to go down with Casey. It was cool seeing my favorite turtle get the most badass death though.

Seriously Leo died because of Baxter Stockman that’s probably 1 of the worst possible characters to die to, Casey makes sense, but Leo is BS. How did wise Master Splitter not sense an ambush coming, even if it was he has to go thing he would not have brought Don along if he even thought he would be in danger. Raph’s death was the only one that actually made sense him going to fight the foot clan by himself is definitely something he would do.
Splinter brought his weapons because he sensed something wrong
Stockman sent robots after them and made them explode, so it kinda makes sense that he would end up killing Leo, plus Honeycutt avenged them
The trailer for the game is just like this so cool

Also Raphael did not die from Karai he died from his sai. He died from his sai when Karai passed out when Raphael hit her very hard so she passed out. Due to her passing out she dropped his sai and it killed him.
She stabbed him in the head with it.

As an absolute lover of the martial arts the original TMNT the comic the movie the cartoon is what inspired me to start training this story was absolutely awesome man did it pull at the heart strings

Imo they're should've been the symbolism behind the deaths of 3 brothers as it fits their character just like Halo Reach did with Noble Team.
Leo: Leader of the brothers. His fate should've atleast been something like a captain goes down with his ship.
Raph: Muscle of the brothers. His death should've be like him got caught up in explosion or lot of brutal attacks to bring him down for good
Donnie: The most brainy brother. A headshot probably? But you get the point.

Everyone said the comic follows « the last living turtle », never precising who exactly, so I always assumed that which turtle exactly was a secret. Guess not.

As cool as The Last Ronin is, I hope it doesn't become the thing that all future adaptations build up to or just adapt in general. It wouldn't be much different than DC adapting The Dark Knight Returns or Flashpoint multiple times.

IDW currently publishes the Ninja Turtles comics and the story continues as normal. In the last arcs, Master Splinter died and several mutant animals began to appear in New York, then the Turtles created the Splinter Clan, a Clan to train these new mutant animals. In the next arc of the comics we know that they are going to Armageddon, a tournament between ninjas focused on mystical arts, probably not to introduce more magic in the comics

Story was left open. I’ve seen too many movies and series to know that if there’s no body there’s no death. Leonardo’s body was not shown so he’s probably still alive. I’m a Raphael fan so my turtles out😢
