Yaaay, I was so happy when I saw your video in my subscriptions! I'm glad that I've stayed subscribed even though I thought you weren't going to upload anymore.
Welcome back and thanks for an awesome video! You're so animated and very well spoken, it felt as if the video was over in matter of seconds.
I have just one suggestion: I think you should tone down the background music because sometimes it feels a little bit overpowering.
Stay awesome! I'm looking forward to new videos from you. :)

Glad I was subscribed, wouldnt have expected another video! If you have time some videos helping us learn egyptian would be pretty dope. Ive got a book teaching middle kingdom egyptian, but my drawing for each heiroglyph sucks. Writing it in heiratic would be a lot easier but the book doesnt go over that :/

This was interesting and educative. In my culture there are two practitioners of magic. The good ones are what you refer to as 'high priests'. The evil ones are what the English language terms as 'witches'. There is a very clear distinction between these two. This is demonstrated in the languages we speak as they have different names. Referring to a high priest (magician) as a witch is quite offensive since they get their abilities from the gods/ancestors. Witches on the other hand deal in dark magic, drawing power from evil ancestral spirits. A witchdoctor can ask for strange items to be availed to them as necessities for a ritual such as the heads of specific animals or specific parts like eyes or tongues etc. A high priest will ask for simpler items like herbs or just money. It is the high priest's duty to get rid of evil magic and find the witchdoctor responsible for casting dark spells. As interesting as all this may sound, times have changed and traditional high priests have largely been replaced by church priests and pastors. Witchcraft, on the other hand, is flourishing and they still continue to practice their craft.

I'm from Kenya. This is the way most communities/tribes operate. But I'm specifically from the Kikuyu tribe. We have a seer called Mūndū Mūgõ who is like a high priest. They did everything and knew everything from medicine to the weather patterns to astronomy et al. Their job was also to find and capture witches to be banished. In Swahili there's two words used; Mganga means a medicine man/woman while Mchawi is a witch. The former are still very much in business today. And they place fliers all over advertising their services from finding things and people to making amulets etc. but witches work "undercover". They're evil ones.
I make a joke (which is not really a joke) 3 things that are a NO for Africans: snakes, black cats and witches.
And owls. Hedwig may be cute but it's believed that if one lands on your roof and starts hooting it means death is to come to that house. So that's also a no.
It's nice that you find this interesting. 😊

@@sarahkiboi5414 Sarah, how much do you know about the Yoruba science of west africa. How similar and different is it than what you described? I ask, because I'm thinking about getting into it. My only hesitation is that I know it's very dangerous.

      @@foreverraining1522 hallo.
Well, first off I'm from Kenya which is in Eastern Africa. Nigeria being in the West means I don't know much about it other than what I read.
To answer you question to the best of my capability, I'll have to first point out that I don't know much about Yoruba culture. I just know they have a pantheon, Orisa, which, I admit, is quite interesting to learn about. Given the nature of their religion which centres on various gods where mine centres on one, there's bound to be more differences than similarities. But nuances may be a bit similar e.g. the reverence for ancestors, traditional rites and rituals and the general fear and dislike of witchcraft. I believe them to be similar because I see the similarities even in current times. These you'll have to study on to really understand.
Side note: I heard a Nigerian politician/commentator say that a Christian Nigerian will swear by the Bible and still tell a lie but take him before the shrine of his ancestors and he'll spill the truth. 😄
The last part of your statement spoke of "dangerous". Here I'll want to give a disclaimer. First, I'm a Christian and believer in God. Second, Nigerian movies have implanted the belief that practice of traditional religion is dangerous but that's only because they focus on the witchcraft part of it which to the uneducated eye leaves the impressions that it is actually all bad. But that's false. From my comments, I know what I know because it's my culture and because I dug deep into literature to get to understand it. And through it I came to discover that the "DANGER" sign put on traditional African religions is false propaganda that started with colonisers and is carried on by "men of God".
Christianity raised crusaders and cults. Islam "jihad". In the same way any religion practiced wrong is dangerous. Read about it thoroughly. Find people who practice and learn more from them. MOST IMPORTANT, ensure you're getting into it with a clean heart and clear conscience. Why? The spirit world IS VERY real. Traditional African religion exists in that world. Playing around in it unknowning of its power is what's dangerous because at the end of the day we are human and the promise of supernatural abilities to manipulate anyone and anything is alluring even to the most righteous of us all.

hello! just wanted to say i love your videos! i’ve been fascinated by roman and greek culture (and language) for a while now and thought it’s about time i learn about the egyptians, mesapotamians, phonecians etc. also you mentioned in a video that egyptian went through many stages, would it be possible to have a video about those different stages and what transformations the language went through?

I might be asking too much but even maybe words with the hyroglifics beside you as your saying them. it's hard to find any reference of what they were ment to sound like😁💚🇮🇪

Did you meet Osiris in the Duat? Probably got a ton of good stories, that fella. Anyway, the Egyptians believed a written word, when spoken, became real. I always get a grin on my face when I hear Iron Maiden's "Powerslave" where Bruce Dickinson calls upon Osiris.

    Modern practitioner of magick here
You definitely should not substitute this for hygiene or safe practices it’s an additive it’ll help
It’s like drinking Hot lemon and honey it won’t cure your cold but it’ll definitely help
Magick isn’t Prayer you had to buy a lottery ticket before you can win the lottery
A man prays to win the lottery...
Every night, he prays to God, "Please Lord, let me win the lottery tomorrow". Years go by and the man continues to pray. Finally, one night he gets an answer from God. He says the usual prayer, "Please Lord, let me win the lottery tomorrow". And finally God says, "You have to buy a lottery ticket first dumbass!".
