Win, I recently start using black latex gloves. It keeps your hands dry so the door winds don't cool them of as fast, second advantage is that when you rub your hands you have soms extra friction which speeds up the proces of heating your hands. Great video!!

Win I went out a day ago in -2 degrees, a cold day but still had a fantastic time. Became too cold on the hands for lures so fished the bung and held onto some hand warmers. Still caught a few fish. Would love a new set of line for the rod. Fantastic video and tight lines!

Thanks Charlie! Haha! There is a huge amount of fish in there, but it can be very tricky. I think they sit in a deep part of the lake a lot, which is out from the island and you can’t cast to from the bank. Never taken the boat out but might do that soon. @@TheTroutFlyFisherman I sure will 👍🏼 saw a boat out a couple of weeks ago. Spoke to a guy at the dam wall end and he told me it was him in the boat, wasn’t fishing, he was trying to scare off a cormorant, apparently he hates cormorants 😄
@@TheTroutFlyFisherman rode me bike up from Leith in the autumn, saw deer, foxes, badgers, fantastic. The only Thing I don’t like is when you see the swans heading over to your peg 😄 don’t think I’ll be back until the restrictions get lifted but I’ll keep an eye out for you
@@chastube - it’s part of the joy of fishing, is the wildlife. I love going to menteith for the fishing, but also to just admire the wildlife and especially the ospreys. Haha, yeah the swans are a good sign in that there is good there, but they tend to interfere as well 😂 hopefully see you there one day mate 👍🏻

Glad to hear that Sam! Depending on the depth of the fishery, and the depth the fish are sitting, you can get away with a floater on occasion. Simply use a weighted fly on the point, and slowing down the retrieve you will fish deeper. Good luck! 👍🏻

WIN - The Numb hands and feet are soon forgotten about when you start stockie bashing, can’t beat it. As you mention, changing methods can often bring you success.. I think it can heat you up a bit as well when pulling lures for a while , change up and fish the bung for a rest. I’ve seen too many fishermen not catching in an hour and going home if it’s too cold, it’s always best to plan out your tactics and brave the weather, it can be very rewarding as you’ve shown in your vids .. Exactly, getting a fish on makes you stay for more! Totally agree, it’s a balance of fishing effectively and staying warm. Just stopping for a coffee resets you and you are good to go again! Tight lines mate! 👍🏻🎣

WIN - The Numb hands and feet are soon forgotten about when you start stockie bashing, can’t beat it. As you mention, changing methods can often bring you success.. I think it can heat you up a bit as well when pulling lures for a while , change up and fish the bung for a rest. I’ve seen too many fishermen not catching in an hour and going home if it’s too cold, it’s always best to plan out your tactics and brave the weather, it can be very rewarding as you’ve shown in your vids .. Exactly, getting a fish on makes you stay for more! Totally agree, it’s a balance of fishing effectively and staying warm. Just stopping for a coffee resets you and you are good to go again! Tight lines mate! 👍🏻🎣
