  • I decided to revisit an old sidewalk that i've kept my eye on over the years. I always thought the city would get them cleaned up. However, as you can see, it has never happened! Out of curiosity, I decided to check the old google maps photos of this corner. I was shocked to find out that these sidewalks, along with the ones around it, have not been touched for over 15 years. I'm not too sure what was on this land before, but I assume by the stairways, it could have had 3 homes on it, or a possible park? Not too sure. Either way, they both will look like new soon. Hope you enjoy this one! The other side will get done as well. Have a great day, and be a blessing to your community :)

      Great question
Public property is supposed to be the ‘communities’ responsibility
However- where I live I take care of walkways and boulevard- trees are left to be trimmed by the wind
Otherwise- empty lots - depends on ownership and over here- it doesn’t matter- small town dive like a ghetto - over here in Sk Canada🇨🇦

We have a problem with old ordinances and laws. As our city has developed and expanded with new neighborhoods, they now require sidewalks. They didn't used to. So now we have a bunch of "sidewalks to nowhere ". They don't connect. It's still not fixing the issues for the disabled, or another forgotten bunch, the people for whatever reason that don't drive. I like your power broom. It seems faster and more directionally precise than the blower. Better than blowing dust every time. Nice to have that choice.

We have a crew that works for our city that mows all city areas and sidewalk areas, but I notice a lot of homeowners take on the areas in front of their houses because they want to or their lawn service does it. Another awesome video, Fill. Speaking as someone who works for a city, we don’t have enough employees to take care of our own property, like all the parks, cemetery, airport, and ditches. Historically, in the summer we hire seasonal maintenance workers for all the extra work like nuisance properties when people won’t mow and take care of their own. We can’t get enough full-time people let alone summer help now. In our city sidewalks are the homeowners responsibility. Unfortunately that kind of thing falls to the bottom of the list when it comes to what’s the most important thing to do for our city.

I love these videos of city properties being cleaned up and the 'guesswork' of what used to be there. I vote for mansion--one of those big square ones with all the gingerbread and the 'widow's watch' at the very top!! Also-I don't know what the garbage collection is like in that city, but we have regular trash and recycling with those giant plastic bins that get emptied with a truck. Well, on garbage day, they go around on their route and eventually they have to dump the front bin. When it lifts up, if there is any wind at all, a bunch of stuff blows all over the place. That is the source of alot of our litter in my city. Maybe there, too.

Nice job, love that brush attachment. That was cool. Glad to see you wearing your gloves😁. Hope to see that whole corner cleaned up. Why stop at 1 corner.

I love the sidewalk cleaning videos. I think it's also a wonderful thing to do for the people in the community that use those sidewalks on a regular basis. It not only makes them look really nice, it also makes them safer for people to use, especially people who may have a disability or difficulty walking. I really hope that, in addition to the lawn videos, you continue doing the "sidewalk series" too. Very satisfiying to watch. Good job and look forward to the next video! Take care!

Homeowners and businesses are responsible for sidewalks, city employees take care of drainage and maintenance. Good work!

So many things to say but first thank you for caring, for doing and for showing that we all have the ability to make a difference in our communities. People will benefit from that cleared sidewalk and trash removal. And that brush is going to be on everyone’s must have list. ❤

The city or local council as we call it in the UK don’t care either. There are also soooo many potholes in the roads that need mending. We need more Fills in the UK!

At the beginning of this video, as soon as you stopped I knew what happened. I actually said out loud, "GLOVES" when you said, "GOOD CALL", and held up your hands. Again, I love the sweeper. Makes work ten times quicker.

Great job. I hope to see you taking care of the top part (the lot) and also that nuisance yard kitty corner when you are done here. It does make a difference in how people feel about where they live and what people who are driving through feel also. A little a time, making the community a little bit better each time. Thank you for all you do! It appears to me that someone who might have been without a home was camping out there for a bit. That sweeper tool you use is awesome, I am surprised I don't see other lawn care dudes using one. It must really help so you don't have to exert so much effort with a shovel and save your back.
