- I was driving around my neighborhood and saw this overgrown sidewalk that looked like it hadn't been maintained in years. So I knocked on the homeowner's door and offered to clean it up completely FREE. She didn't believe me at first and wanted to pay for the service, but I told her that payment was not necessary. I told her about my social media presence and how my work is viewer supported. I am so glad that I am able to give back to my community with these free lawn makeovers, and I wouldn't be able to do that without you guys. So thank you, you who are reading this text. Sooooooo glad to see you back. Missed you. Love that brush attachment. I noticed you didn't have gloves on and I noticed you paused quite a bit while shoveling due to that nasty back pain from shoveling. This was a tough one for the first video of the year after not doing lawn care for months of winter. Ease into it so you don't hurt yourself. Your edges are always AWESOME. Hope your blister is better.

Very hard work but such good results! Suggest you wear padded/insulated gloves when you shovel to ease the pressure on your wrists and shoulders, and prevent blisters that will haunt you for weeks. Put them on BEFORE you start work. And wear proper eye protection when you use the power broom. Eyes matter.
With the sidewalk now cleared it is up to the residents to contact their city council and arrange for repairs. The sidewalk is badly damaged and has become a safety hazard.

Should use a D handle squared of digging spade rather than a shovel for that kind of work, you'll find it much easier, the tapered shovel you are using is for scooping up loose material.
That was a lot of hard work on those sidewalks. I am certain all the neighbors love that cleared. thanks.

Fill so glad to see you back. I wonder if a leather work glove would be better. I always found a cloth glove just rubbed the hands until they were raw. Just a suggestion. You do awesome edging and cleaning up the walk. Just awesome. Thank you for taking us along. God bless.
Moleskin. They make larger sheets you can trim to fit. Best for working with blisters. Or gorilla tape. It'll fix anything.

Even w/o mowing, that edging/sidewalk clean up made a humongous difference! No gloves? Early season mistake. Heal quickly😊
Holy cow, the edging job alone was epic!
You should keep a first aid kit with waterproof bandaids of all sizes and some antiseptic/first aid spray for cuts & blisters. I keep one in my vehicle, my backpack just in case. Make sure you keep it covered and clean. WEAR YOUR GLOVES!

Was wondering if you used the rotary broom to sweep up the piles of sod on the sidewalk. Seems like it would help. Edited out?

Regarding your self inflicted wounds, remember to invert your gloves after every job and spray the interior materials with an antibacterial spray to avoid infections. You need to remain proactive in your own health care.

Gloves gloves gloves hope the blister has repaired itself. Yes the spinning broom is great . Great addition to your tools. As I've said before "you are only as good as your last job, and m'dear you are a cut above the rest.
For that blister, don't remove the flap of skin over a blister unless it's very dirty or torn or there is pus under it. ...Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly, such as Vaseline, and a non-stick bandage. Change the bandage once a day or anytime it gets wet or dirty.
As always another great transformation, its amazing how overgrown a sidewalk can get, at one point you took over a shovels width of sod away from the edge. keep up the good work and I love the new toy im sure that it will come in very handy.

The sidewalks look amazing! Hope it doesn’t raise the property taxes! 😊 At least now the owner knows what they’re supposed to look like. Sure hope the city doesn’t complain about the busted up squares.
