Did y'all use the same sensor for this video??? Talk about High-Def video recording! 😄 This is very exciting from a HD standpoint and pricing and can't wait to see advancements in magnification. I don't like/need over 2.5 base, and I currently have a 2x. And though 1.75 does seem limiting, it's not far off of 2x, from which I rarely zoom. Even at a 3.5x which is really all I would need is still 512. I would like to see ya'll do some comparisons. I'm sure you're working on them for up-and-coming shows. Great work, Pulsar!
Thanks Daniel! Yes sir the 1.75x vs 2x is negligible. If you’re not zooming a ton as it is and you like the wide field of view then the XL50 is absolutely worth putting on the short list. It really is exciting to see all the new technology coming out!
Excellant video and outstanding information! Question - are you aware if the current XP50 Pro mono may be coming out with the updated XL50 upgraded chip this spring? Thank you!
@@TheLateNightVisionShowthe tech isn't a game changer, but it is a very good price point for that unit. I am excited to see what the future of 1024 and 1280 optics looks like.
Initially excited however other companies are trying to catch up with IRAY who came out with the stunning 1280x1024, granted with a price tag of a nice car (18K) the IRAY isnt all that compelling... However ATN was the Thor 5 XD LRF for 6-7 grand depending on if you want 2-20 or 4-40 with LRF as well, so is this new pulsar really exciting or are they coming up short to the competition seeing as this model is only 1024x768?
Yes I've been really curious how the new Thor 5 looks scope in hand, is it really crisp? Videos can say a lot but from someone who has probably looked through the new thor 5 would you say it is better or not quite as good as the infiray RS75milliondollarriflescope?
If ATN eventually releases their 1280 and it’s clear, amazing image quality, built well and works like it should….we should all buy lottery tickets.lol We saw it at SHOT and it was baaaaad. But no news since then.
Wait 1.75 base mag??? I want 3x for $8k. Rats 1.75 base mag is seal breaker for me. I’m sure the pig hunters would like 1.75x but not for coyotes. Definitely need 3x even 4x wouldn’t hurt my feelings
We understand many people are looking for a higher base magnification. But the physical size of the scope would have to change to make this a higher base mag. A huge lens and a very long focal length is required when you go up in resolution. Think about the Infiray 1280….is a 75mm lens and a 2x base mag. There’s way more science to this than most of us can appreciate. But we can always hope for to figure. Thanks for watching!
@@TheLateNightVisionShowwell, most monoculars have a 2.5x basemag at 50mm lenses. Thermtec has 4x mag at f1 too. So why is that not possible with a scope?
@TheLateNightVisionShow does the physical size need to increase if you are willing to let field of view decrease in favor of magnification? This is so close to being a huge increase for coyotes in open country.
@@TheLateNightVisionShow I do realize now that that the current thermion footprint wouldn’t support 3x base mag. That’s to bad. I’m very happy to see 1024 from pulsar hit the market I think it’s great in the merger bino’s. So I’m running the XG50LRF 640 at 3x 320 at 6x. With the XL I’m at 1024 at 1.75 and 512 at 3.5. Since I’m already at 640 at 3x with the XG it hard for me to want to switch to the XL unless I’m going to keep my shots close 0-150. So the question is will my XL image be much better at 3.5x vs the XG 640 at 3x ?
We can but I can tell you what it looks like…just like it does at night.haha Thermals don’t see light so other than objects holding some heat from the sun, it’s 100% identical. If you’re interested in the optic give us a call and one of us can get you some daytime footage an email it to you. We’d love to have your business. 877-350-1818
It’s currently not possible in this form factor to increase the base mag but hopefully they’ll find a way to make it happen one day. Until then there’s alway the 2x 1280 that’s on sale for $16,000!😎
Very Cool!
But Pulsar you need to drop those special $100'ish batteries.
Thanks for watching.
Love to see this sensor in the talion frame
That would be interesting!

We don’t know what Pulsar has up their sleeve for the Telos yet but we do expect to see more models. We’ll definitely know more at SHOT show.

Love the power point great to see how the market going

It's no InfiRay 1280, but good for them
But that 1280 is 18K
Yes sir but at 50% of the price of the 1280, not too shabby.

Waiting for a monocular with hight base mag/zoom.
I'm looking to buy another thermal and saw this. Is this a decent deal VS the iray bolt 640/512 at 5499.00

That’s a great base mag for hogs in my opinion
You would think that since the merger xl has 2.5 base they can do it in the thermion
I love my thermals. But 8k is a crap load of money for a scope.
Everyone has different budgets. 8-9 years ago the average price of a quality 640 was $8-$10k. Quality improves and prices drop. Thanks for watching!
To low magnification
Totally depends on what you’re doing. The hunters buying them right now would disagree!
Damn Hans have you lost weight?.
He talked about it a while back. He started running and has lost quite a bit.
Looking good, ain't he? 😜
Yes sir he’s a lean mean running machine!
Makes them hot summer hunts easier
Haha.. yessir, about 50 pounds
