Just always a joy to watch you, Brenda and Laura, and be inspired by you and laugh with you! I am a quilter also and loved the note read at the end and know it applies to my cross stitching also!! Thanks again for taking the time to share! I have sewn or stitched since I was 12 and am now 69 and am grateful God blessed me with this gift and desire!
Thank you both! Your stitching is so beautiful. Love your new display tree, how special it is and will be for decades to come. Your positivity and encouragement is much appreciated.
Oh wow the letter. It made me think of my Mother and Sister. My Mother is in Heaven. The two of them loved to do plastic canvas. They had enough canvas, yarn and patterns to open a shop. Their work was beautiful and they enjoyed the time they spent together stitching. Thanks for sharing the beautiful letter.
Love the bit you read at the end. I couldn’t agree more!!! How special this stash, these crafts and the legacy for my family. Beautiful quilts and samplers and a happy mom!! ❤️
Tears in my eyes as I ponder the letter you read at the end, Brenda. It hit home with me as I think about both quilting and stitching and what those hobbies have brought to my life. I feel so guilty sometimes when I look at all the fabric and threads and patterns I've purchased, as I will never be able to use them all in my lifetime. But like this lady articulated in her letter --the whole process has brought joy to my life. The shopping. The planning. The dreaming. Going to try to lose the guilt and enjoy the whole process!! That stand for your needlework made with your Grandpa's bedpost is awesome!! Like Laura said--"What a treasure". Thank you for another lovely flosstube. Hugs to you both!!
Loved seeing all those wips and charts. There are just so Many beautiful things. I loved the sentiment at the end. The timeI have spent with shopping and stitching or quilting with my friends has been a pure joy. And the stitching and quilting during the pandemic has saved me. I always love watching your flosstube.
One of my blessings of COVID-19 is discovering Flosstube! I am so thankful for your videos and those of your stitchy friends ... and I don’t even stitch ... yet!!
I always look forward to your videos on Sunday. It makes me feel like I am stitching with the oldest and best of friends. Stitching has gotten me through these last few months of quarantine and will continue to see me through these crazy times. I have spent far too much over the last few months on supplies and charts but I think right now I can say I think I have enough to stitch with for quite some time. As long as I can stitch along with you I’ll be happy with whatever comes. Thank you for your virtual ‘friendship’. You make my week.
Thank you so much for your kind words Anne!!! These times are tough and there does not seem to be a let up in sight so we all need to stick together in order to keep our spirits up. Thank goodness for our stitching! We are sending you a big hug!!!
Once again you have made my day! Thank you Brenda and Laura for acknowledging my feelings for “the process.” That letter described my feelings for this craft to a tee. It’s what I love and it inspires me and keeps me sane! Onward cross stitch soldiers, onward! ❤️
Thank you ladies for giving up valuable stitching time to cheer us all with your beautiful work and most of all, your beautiful friendship. Stitching and collecting stitching stuff...kind of like reading, doing puzzles, or watching TV. (You don't even have a product at the end of those activities.) It truly is the whole process that is so comforting. It also keeps me busy so I don't snack!
Thank you for sharing the mother's letter to her daughter. I can sew relate. You two make me smile with all your beauty, love of stitching and friendship. Watching your videos is inspiring!
Brenda and Laura, I can’t begin to express how much I value and look forward to your videos. You have brought me comfort in this time of craziness. On a side note, I am also so glad that I am not alone in my absolute obsession with all things stitching related! ❤️
Thank you Michelle!!!!! And you are not alone....in fact, right this very minute I am obsessing over what I will stitch later today. It is so much fun!!!!!!
I have sizable stashes for many crafts: quilting, crossstitching, scrapbooking, watercoloring, jewelry making... and you’re right half the joy is in the planning and gathering! My quilt shop recently closed it’s doors due to Covid, and my greatest sorrow is not the loss of the shop, but the loss of a gathering place of like minded people. I will miss seeing friends I made, as we all lived a distance away. I lost my quilting mojo sometime ago, but I would bring my cross stitching and go when they had open sewing get-togethers just to visit! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your love of a hobby I began 43 years ago! I have very little to show thanks to Katrina from that time, and I reconciled myself with that, but y’all freed me to start all the things, which I do with reckless abandon!!! Love you both...
So glad to hear you are starting things with reckless abandon!!!! I am going to use that as a hashtag from now on! Love that!!!! It is tragic that your LQS closed!!!!! Not being able to gather with fellow stitchers/quilters is painful. I hope things improve ASAP!!!! Hugs!
SO WOW!!! FABULOUS VIDEO!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE you ladies! You are the sunshine we all need, what you show us is inspiration and is these trying times we sure need it. Thank You!
I inherited my mothers many stashes, quilting, embroidery, cross stitch, craft books, all the many crafters she supposed buying their makes at craft fairs. My sister got her yarn stash. Going through it all broke my heart that she lost the mental capacity to create many years before she passed. Brenda, that letter you wrote rang loud and true, 16 years after we finally lost her. My mother had many crafting friends, who supported my sister and myself through the hard times. Visited my mother even though she couldn't remember them. That letter says it all, thank you for sharing everything, both of you. Wendy (UK)
Brenda, thank you for sharing your friend's letter to her children. I don't have kids to leave a letter to, but I can certainly relate. I was home for 7 weeks and finally pieced several quilts from my stash, and then got back into my stitching. And trust me - I have STASH!!! But I concur, I love the process also. Stitching is something that I share with Mom and my sister - it's great. Thanks again for your flosstubes!
Sooooo, you made me cry with that ending, Brenda! And it hits home with me too. My kids get funny about all my yarn (because I love to crochet too) as well as everything else in my craft room. They do understand it is my sanity now that my physical limitations keep me home with little to do, but only creators/crafters/stitchers, etc, truly understand and I think that letter explained it beautifully! I love the beautiful display stand your husband made you! So very special for so many reasons. Loved everything you both shared, as usual. :)
Thanks so much Linda!!!! Yes, it was a wonderful message that Brenda found and read! It sure struck a chord within us all!!! So glad you have lots of great stash in your craft room!!! Thank you for watching and commenting!
You girls are just a bright light in my day!! And oh my goodness when you read the letter from the quilter? I had tears in my eyes because it is so true. Being a quilter and stitcher I have double the stash and I’m proud of it!! Thank you again for being the happy in the day!!
Thank you for reading the note Brenda. I recently spoke with my sister about how grateful we are for our stash of yarn, and fiber to spin and, for me, the return to cross stitch and quilting. The ruminating about what pattern works with what yarn, what project to start next...It is all a blessing in our lives. In the last months, we have an even greater appreciate for our love of the fiber arts and knowing that, whether knitting, spinning yarn or working on a cross stitch project, we are living in the moment - enjoying our craft. And being part of this community means more than I can ever express. Thank you, thank you. Oh and P.S> I just retired August 1st and loving it. Bless you both.
What a beautiful description of the process Delia!! So true!!!! Congratulations on retirement!!! We are both so envious!!!!!! We wish you every happiness and lots of time to knit, spin, stitch and quilt!!
With tears flowing I say thank-you so much for sharing, the laughter, and even the laws we “must” follow. For those of us who live alone you have made these months so much more bearable. Thank-you for making me realize how much I had missed stitching & how much joy it has brought, though my wallet has suffered, you can’t take it with you. 😊 Stay safe ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for such a beautiful and lovely comment dear!!!!! So glad that you are enjoying the joy of stitching!!!! It brings such comfort!!! Hugs and love to you!!!
Dear Brenda and Laura ~ I am a new subscriber, and I am going back and binge watching all your previous videos! :) I really enjoy watching you dear ladies. You are both so inspiring and talented. I sure would love to meet you someday at a retreat. Thank you very much for taking the time to share with us! Such a beautiful message from the quilter. I agree, and I can relate. I am very grateful for my hobby of cross stitching, and I truly believe it has helped me tremendously during these trying times. For me I know that God is using this time to get my attention, and my faith in Him has also been a great help. Thank you so very much for brightening my day. :)
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!!!! You left such kind words and we appreciate it very much. I hope we all meet at a retreat someday too!!!!!! That would sure be fun! Hugs!!!
Thank you so much for a beautiful message! Like you, I don't think I could have made it through this past 12 months without the comfort of stitching. 💕
Thanks for sharing that Beautiful note. It really hit home for me. Brenda your stand is so pretty. So many great memories for you to have. Tell your husband great work. You two have a wonderful week stitching.
What a wonderful video, love it. Great to see you two again and love all of your fabrics you show. The letter was nice to hear and it touches me that we can all relate to it in some way, shape or form in our own lives. Thank you, thank you. Enjoy the stitching.
Thank you for brightening my day ladies..... Brenda that hanging-pillow-holder tree is so special! From where the wood came from to your husband making it for is so full of love! Enjoy the first weeks of Sampler September - I look forward to seeing your amazing starts!! 😊💖
Thank you Gisele!!!!! Yes, Rick sure made Brenda an heirloom treasure!!!! It is perfection!!!!! I think this 3 day weekend should lend itself to some serial starting shenanigans!!!!! Hope you have some good stitching time too!
Glad I watched to the end to hear you read that letter. I am 72 and soon will be 73 in Oct, and I have an enormous stash. It is the one thing that makes me happy and brings me joy. I can't even count the number of stitched items I've completed and I know I'll never live long enough to even start all the pieces I have that I love. But, it is so gratifying just to look through everything and remember where I was or what I was doing at the time. I've even stitched hundreds of models for Leisure Arts in the 80's and 90's. It was a job where I could be home with my children while they were little. I am thankful that I still have good vision and am able to do the hobby I love. You gals showed some beautiful samplers and I might have been enabled a little....well a lot! Love watching and look forward to next time. I would love to meet you both someday!
Thank you Phyllis!!!! So cool to hear about your model stitching!!!! That must have been fun to see everything before anyone else did!! Glad you are enjoying your massive stash! We all need to do that...especially these days!! Hope we can meet someday too!
Thank you both so much for all your positive energy and wonderful inspiration. I'm not the most articulate person in the world but I feel it's so important (especially these days) to acknowledge those who bring you joy. I've found my bliss in the stitching community and you two are a huge part of that so, from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU for being you. Have a wonderful week I can't wait to see you again.
Ladies, Thank you for laughter,. kindness and sharing your love of cross stitch with us. You brighten my Sundays. I definitely shed a few tears at the end of your video. So following your suggestion headed to Traditional Stitches and ordered more stash and the needle minders you just showed. Again thank you.
You two are so much fun! I loved the letter....so touching...loved seeing all of your wips and future projects... You are the ultimate enablers and I love it... Thank you for sharing with us...
I hope you both know how many people you touch with your smiles, stories and inspiration. I am a Aida stitcher with aspirations of moving to linen. I have watched all the wonderful videos on flosstube with some linen envy in my heart! You have made me feel so much better about my stitching with your video today. I felt like you were talking right to me! Thanks so much ladies!!
Loved your stitching shenanigans!!! You girls always brighten my day!!! Don't know how I would have gotten through the pandemic without you two!!! So very happy for ALL the words of wisdom in this video...you girls outdid yourselves!!! Thanks so much for taking the time!!! Love to you both...take care and be well!!!
Another fabulous video! The reading at the end made me tear up. I thank God everyday for cross stitch and my ability to do it. It brings peace to my soul! Marie Kondo, who is known for decluttering homesteads. Always says keep it if it gives you joy. And says it was worth buying if it gave you joy. And if you pass it on it will give someone else joy. Cross stitch brings me joy in twenty folds! ❤️X ❤️ X ❤️
Thank you Tina!!!! Marie Kondo would go nuts if she saw my stitch room (Laura) which is totally disorganized, but it brings me joy! So thank you for that reminder!!!
You two are a joy. Thank you for a very enjoyable hour. I love my stash and I can so relate to your quote. Stitching has been a savior in this year of turmoil. Brenda what a wonderful gesture by your husband. Have a wonderful September. Karen
Thank you for your floss tube! I enjoyed seeing you both and your inspirations! and Thank goodness I have cross stitch especially during this covid crazy time - I enjoy it so much that it has kept me safe at home, passing the time, doing something I really love that helps during very stressful times like this right now. I agree - I enjoy choosing the chart - among the gazillion that I have, choosing the linen or stressing which linen to use or which count or color; going through the thread possibilities, stitching the piece - aiming for a finish or starting another one and so proud when I finish a project. Yes - I agree - joy stitching is the best thing ever! Thanks so much!
Lovely vid, Ladies! All your sampler choices are amazing and I can’t wait to see your progress on them. The letter at the end was very touching. My 89 year old mother lives with us and she still quilts and embroiders daily. Since she moved in with us four years ago, she started going through all her fabric stash and WIPs and has finished seven quilts, a needlepoint tapestry for my piano bench that she started in the sixties, and she has made countless pot holders and small pieced items and donated them to my childhood school for fundraisers. She has really made a dent in her fabric stash and she so enjoys using it up and making things for others. It has been a lifelong journey for her and we all cherish everything she has made for each of us. Needlework of all kinds is truly a joy to have in our lives. Thank you for sharing my journey with me!! Happy stitching!! 🐝🌼🐿🍂🍁❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
Oh my goodness Cathy!!! Loved hearing how your Mom is enjoying her handwork and all the beautiful projects she has finished and is working on!!!!! What fun you must have together!!! Hugs to you both!
I so love watching your videos. I get so many ideas. Thank you for the letter reading about stash. I have never felt bad about my stash of either cross stitch supplies (including kits from back when) to sewing supplies for clothing to quilting supplies. More than once I haven't been able to get out to buy something or other due to anything from lack of ready cash to lousy weather (snowed in, etc.) or even lack of time (I made a pull string purse of stretch velvet to go with something I was already wearing to go to a party--got many compliments, too) and have been so happy to be able to pull out something and work on a project. Sometimes the joy of stash is in the sorting and prioritizing. Sometimes the joy is in sharing a finished product or the raw materials with a friend in need. My granddaughters are beginning to be interested in these things so my son is always telling them talk to Grandma. And yes, it's more stash fun. I so appreciate all your videos and when I'm lonely which is often these days due to COVID, I re-watch something on Flosstube and often it's one your videos. And, like re-reading a favorite book, I get new insights and ideas with your descriptions of product.
Ladies, your sharing is always a highlight of my week. Sometimes I know that you have posted a video, and I save it as a special treat when I can totally enjoy it. Other times, I watch it in short segments in order to spread it out. Some of my favorite videos have been when you highlight designers like Blackbird Designs, The Scarlett House, and Plum Street Samplers. Video #33 was a special gift though. Laura, you always make me smile with your enthusiasm and many patterns. For you, it is truly the process as much as the product. Brenda, your husband's gift to you using materials from your family is similar to a project that I'm going to make. I kept the antique key from the door of my grandmother's old china closet. I'm going to stitch the pattern, The Key to Santa's Workshop, and attach it with a ribbon to the piece. It will remind me of my grandmother and the many memories in her home. I retired in June, and thank goodness for my cross-stitching, quilting, and Nantucket basket making. The note that you read at the end describes what my crafts mean to me. Many thanks...
Thanks so much Marjorie!!! Your comment was full of wonderful thoughts and feelings. The piece you are making with your Grandma's key sounds very special! Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. We so appreciate it!
Thank you, I so enjoy your videos! I really appreciated what you shared at the end. I returned to stitching almost four years ago. Within months, my husband had a cancer diagnosis and I found that stitching was the only hobby I could manage. Once I decided on a chart, there did not have to be any other decisions. I just couldn’t manage the decisions! With stitching, I could just follow the chart and have something lovely emerge from under my needle. Thankfully, his recovery is well underway. ❤️ In these Covid days, I’m in the same place. I need to make but I can’t make decisions. Stitching allows me to do that in a peaceful, low stress way. I have been so grateful for my crafty stash in these times and suspect I always will be!
Thank you Elizabeth! We are so relieved to know that your husband is recovering. May his health continue to improve! Completely understand what you are saying about the stitching process, especially during times of stress. Thank goodness we have this wonderful hobby (and stash!). Hugs to you!!!
So many samplers, so little time!I love your videos and the joy you share for stitching. Loved the last bit about enjoying the process and all your stash without feeling guilty about having it.
Amen ladies! Stitching has kept me sane these past months. Being over 70 means we are supposed to be extra careful to avoid the CV19 so I only go out to the supermarket really. Thank goodness for Stash with a capital S! Thank you for another super video - lovely to spend time with you both. xx
Thank you Rosie!!!!!! I think we are all grateful to have our stash to get us through these difficult times!!! I am glad you are only going out to the supermarket! Other than that, stay home and stitch! Hugs!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Especially for your closing remarks!!! Being home all these Covid months, with our only child living several states away, no other family near, and caring for my dear husband of 52 years who is battling the unforgiving disease of Alzheimer's puts a whole new spin on social isolation. You, Brenda and Laura, will never know how many lives you touch. You certainly have made a difference in mine. Thank you!
Dear Mary, Thank you for watching and for your comment. I sure wish that we could come over and stitch with you!!!!!!! You are dealing with a lot of stress and responsibility and I wish we could ease your burden. But thank goodness for stitching and floss tube...it sure does bring joy into all of our lives. We are sending you lots of love and also sending love to your husband. Hugs to you both!!!!!
Thank you Laura for sharing your purchases from my sale and the kind comments on the items from both of you! I’m thrilled beyond that you love the items ❤️. As a stitcher, knitter, crocheter, sew-er, painter... let me just say I have some stash! 😳🤣 Loved what you read from the quilter, I can so relate! I get so much joy from shopping for materials and patterns, perhaps more so than the actual making (but that’s fun too). Happy stitching! 😘 - Stacey
Love you ladies. So much fun. You have so many amazing projects going. Love the reading from the quilter. It is so true with any good project and with such good friends. It is fun to dream. 🥰 See you in 2 wks. Stay Safe, Keep Trusting in God. We will make it together stitching all the way. 😁
I was talking about you two with friends, telling them I had two new virtual friends, who didn’t know they were my friends but they were!!! I’ve gotten out my sewing basket and very vintage (20 ish year) old piece and am stitching with you. You are such good company, just enjoying being friends!!! Thanks so much! Elizabeth Rose
Absolutely adore Brenda’s pillow stand display, your husband is so talented - what a treasure. I also agree with the ‘stash’ enjoyment! Great visit Ladies!
Fabulous video. I enjoyed my Sunday visit and look forward to viewing your sampler september progress. The statement you read from the quilter hit home for me too! I miss stitching with my gals and I hope my family will one day appreciate my love for the needlework process. Happy Stitching Girls.
Your husband did a great job on your pillow tree, Brenda. And Laura, I about fell off my chair when you flung your cross stitch piece behind you! I loved the note from the mother to her daughter. Thank you for another great Sunday visit!
Thank you for the beautiful ending to a wonderful show. Enjoy the process. Loved it all. Don’t know what I would do without my crafts, especially spending all this time at home.
You ladies are wonderful, I loved the note you read at the end. I am so fortunate to have a husband and son who understand my passion for cross stitching and quilting, they are my enablers. I had to laugh about my son talking about his closet of shame , it contains sets of models to be painted ----he paints miniature historical figures and has shelves of armies as WIPS waiting for his paint brush. Oh yes, he understands! Have a great two weeks, happy stitching.
Hi ladies so happy today was a Brenda and Laura Day. I had to pause this video to purchase Ann Morison (with fabric) and Sisters by BBD, and then to download Betty Glover. Just to let you know I have purchase two of the stitcker books. One for me and one for my journaling daughter (BTW, she loves it). I love your new pillow holder. Brenda, your husband did a great job! I love you girls and want to let you know you have brought me many happy days. I could not have made it through this year without my stitching or you ladies. Thanks so much and God bless you two! Happy Stitching!
I did it!! I did it!!! I bought the sticker book and it is fabulous!! I just put my first sticker on my 52 week planner and it just made me feel great! Who would have thought that a simple sticker can bring a smile to my face!! Can you tell I’m excited? I just love you both❤️. Barb
Thanks Betsy!!!!!! I cannot even imagine this year without our stitching!!!! It would be so difficult. Our handwork brings such peace and calm (except over one stitching! ugh!). Hugs to you!
Thank you so much for reading the letter about the stash. It’s definitely all about the journey and the connections we make with people! I want to make sure I convey that to my family. I enjoy your positivity and encouragement so much!
Ladies I can't even begin to tell you how much you brighten my life. Just watching your friendship and all the beautiful cross stitch you do. What a beautiful message at the end. Thanks for the inspiration. But I can't stitch when you are on. I'm afraid I'll miss something. ❤❤❤
What a blessing you guys are. Thanks as always for the encouragement, the inspiration, and the comforting words to stitch what we love and be happy! and of course the lovely lovely sentiments at the end that explain why the process means everything. I am inspired to get my list of fav. 10 samplers now to stitch, start, or finish in September!
Great video ladies. You are both so special! Thanks for all you share with us. I agree without my stitching I couldn't have made it through this year. Thanks for sharing that written piece about the stash too! Loved it!
Wow!! Fabulous video but that letter written to a daughter..... me oh my it made me cry! Just what I needed to hear. I often question my sanity about why I continue stitching when my house is full. The joy and happiness it brings me is why and it is so much more than the finished product. It’s been one of the hardest years personally with COVID, my husband’s cancer, my mother’s cancer and more but throughout every single day I always felt happiness, joy and thankfulness with my love of needlework. This community has been such a blessing - thank you for taking the time to do the videos and reminding us we all deserve the happiness this hobby brings us and the fellowship of like minded ladies.
You said this so beautiful Ginger! May your stitching continue to bring you happiness and provide you with the strength to keep going through these difficult days. And then, like a rising sun, someday we will all be together to stitch and share our love of this hobby!!! Hugs!!!
Hello y’all !! Loved, loved loved your video! You both are so sweet . Have a wonderful 2 weeks of stitching and I can’t wait to see your progress on the beautiful samplers.
Loved the note you read. Lately I have been feeling that I am acquiring too much but the process is so much fun. And of course the stitching, finishing and gifting my completed projects are rewarding.
Hi ladies, so very happy to be with you both today. I absolutely love your videos! I know we’ve never meant but I feel a connection with you, none the less. Your videos have brought me much comfort this year, since all this craziness, thank you for that❣️Maybe one day we’ll have an opportunity to meet, till then I’ll keep enjoying your videos. Thank you for finding that message at the end. My mother had loads of fabric when she passed away but I know what pleasure it gave her to think of all the beautiful outfits she thought of making. She was a very talented seamstress, and I so admire the love and work she put into everything she did. Laura, your red sampler is coming along, so Brenda gave you those marching orders, guess we’ll see your progress soon 😆happy stitching. Brenda love the Noel sampler, I really want to stitch that... might have to ordered that. Your husband sure did a wonderful job on the tree, and what a treasure to have something you admire each and every day in remembrance of your grandfather. Wishing you both a very happy week, and remember how much “joy” you bring to others just by being you 🥰Best of luck with your Sampler September, until next time. 💓Cindy
Thank you so very much for your kind words Cindy...they are a balm to our souls! I hope we do get to meet someday! Imagine stitching with other people in person again!! We will all be so giddy! Hugs!!!
I had to hurry up and finish freezing 22 pints of corn before I could relax and drool over your video! My goodness, I love all your projects and patterns. Thanks for bringing joy to my Sunday....
Such great video. Something to look forward to during hard times right now. Love seeing all great charts ect. The letter at end was so touching, hits hard to home. Thanks ladies for all you do.
‘Enjoy The JOURNEY’.... so very beautiful. GOD blessed me with a beautiful daughter when I turned 40. It’s been 15yrs now and that’s one of the main things we share. She is very artistic and just loves to draw, paint & mix media. She has won various awards at school and citywide. Whenever she wants to go purchase materials out the door we go. She has a wonderful stash and treasures it all. That’s how I know she understands. Thanks for sharing all your goodies. ❤️👍🏼🌻
I just love you two! What a great note about stash! And yes...I would love to just “come right in” and see all of your lovely stitching. Sampler September sounds fun! Thanks for showing us your stash and starts. Happy stitching 🧵 PS...I still miss football...😉
Brenda - you made me cry. I think it hit home with many of us. And I hope my treasures don't end up in a dumpster but at that point I won't care!! I look forward to your bi-weekly videos and I think I'm heading to the Traditional Stitches Website next!
Love your videos. I agree so much with doing what brings you joy. I decided to purchase the Traditional Stitches 20th anniversary sampler and took the plunge and got it kitted up. I so enjoy your sharing of your charts. Thank you
Thank you both for the encouraging words of wisdom at the end of this video. Everyone should have something they love to look forward to doing every day, cross stitch just happens to be it for me too!
Thank you!!! Wise words! Everyone should have something they love to look forward to doing every day! I just do not understand people who don't. Happy Stitching L B!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I now have Blackbird Designs Sisters booklet and Travelling Stitcher's Arabella S. Graves sampler coming to my mailbox. Found them both on ebay. You and your flosstube are a font of information and inspiration...and lots of fun to watch, to boot. I feel like I'm back at my Thursday night stitching group. Long gone since our LNS closed 15+ years ago. Thank you, again.
So very glad you found those charts Mary!!!! Yes, having floss tubes to watch makes things much better doesn't it?? I love to stitch and watch!!! I am sorry that your LNS closed!!! Ugh! I hate to hear that. Thank goodness we can order things in the mail and on line!!!!! Hope you have a good weekend of stitching!
Glad to see back again. Laura, the piece by your Mother is surely a treasure. Brenda, the tree your husband made is great. Love all of your WIPS & Sampler picks. Marilyn
Thank you both for another great video - I always look forward to your new ones! And that note read at the end from the quilter was good to hear - I really only like working on one project until it's finished and hesitate to get charts sometimes if I know it'll be ages until I can get to it, but hearing that is a good reminder on why I shouldn't worry about that. I need to leave note like this by my stitching stash, on my handbags shelf and by the pottery I like to collect too (just to cover my bases from the afterlife!)
Yes! Cover all your bases Leslie!!!!!!! The other thing about not getting a chart that you really love is that it may not be available when you finally get around to it. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!
Ok, i am certain i am not the only one crying over that note. So love you both. I am not a sampler stitcher but love the history and awesome work of them. I stitch the things i love and gift many to family and friends!
The note you read at the end really just says it all so perfectly. Thanks for sharing that Brenda. I often wonder how crazy people will think I was once I am gone but a) I won't know and b) the pure joy that all aspects of the process brings me is enough for me. I don't know if I always thank you both for enabling me but today I want to thank you for Emily Horben and the little friendship chart by Samplers and Stitches! They are both just delightful. I love marking samplers with sayings on them. Oh, I also am waiting for the threads and fabric for the Noel sampler from Country Sampler. I have been drooling over it since you first talked about it Brenda and I can't wait to start it. September Sampler Soiree/Sampler September will be so much fun. I loved all the samplers you both showed. I think I am going to focus on Isabella Fox for the month - barring any squirrels!!! Take good care, stay safe and happy stitching!
Love all of your plans Wanda!!!!!!!! Hope everything is working out well with a stitching rotation of all of those wonderful projects!!!! We just want to stitch it all don't we???? Hugs!
I loved the note you read. I wish you would post that somewhere that we could print it out. It is very true about families and life. I lost my husband this past winter and little did I know that this year I would be stuck in my house. All the fabrics, yarns, crafts that I have purchased over the years has been such a comfort to me. I'm back into cross stitch after 40 year break. Thanks to Flosstubes I feel like I am moving forward. It's a lonely time in my life but this makes me smile. Also I wish you would talk about how you store all those charts you own. Robin in Virginia
I will talk to Brenda about how we might be able to direct people to that message so that you can print it out. Please accept our sincere sympathy in the loss of your husband. It must be especially difficult during these very trying times. Thank goodness you have stash to keep you somewhat occupied. We are sending lots of love your way!!
Just watched this episode and the quote you mentioned at the end really resonated with me. I worry about leaving all my stuff for my son to go through when I pass , so I will be leaving him a notebook with instructions on what to do with it all and will be inserting this quote in that notebook. Thank you.
Thank you ladies for the inspiration. I have enjoyed my stash for years as a long stitcher and now have a bestie that I share it all with. We chat daily about what we are loving, doing, switching projects, etc. and now with Flosstube, we get to do it with a lot more people. I love cross stitching, love the process and the finished product and LOVE YOU GUYS! Thanks for taking time from your busy days to put these videos together for us to enjoy. There are times when I am having a bad day that all I need to do is watch your video and all is well with my soul!
Oh my goodness! Thank you for your kind words Sandra!!!! They mean the world to us. And I can just imagine your and your BFF chatting every day about what you are working on and switching to, etc.!!!! What fun!!!! Hope you have a lovely long weekend of stitching and hanging with your friend! Hugs!
Thank you Judith!! We are so lucky to have our stitching and quilting!! Hugs!
Thank you both! Your stitching is so beautiful. Love your new display tree, how special it is and will be for decades to come. Your positivity and encouragement is much appreciated.
Thank you so much for all of your kind words Sue!!!
Oh Katherine! What special memories you have your Mom and Sister crafting together! That touches our hearts! Hugs!!!
Love the bit you read at the end. I couldn’t agree more!!! How special this stash, these crafts and the legacy for my family. Beautiful quilts and samplers and a happy mom!! ❤️
Wasn't it spot on Celeste??? We are so lucky to have these crafts/handwork to keep us happy!
Oh! and Laura--that embroidery your mother made was just precious!!
@@shellyz47 Thanks so much Shelly!!!
Thank you for your kind words Shelly!!! and we are all throwing that "too much stash" guilt right out of the window!
Thanks so much Kathy!!!!! We so agree with everything you said!!!!!!
Thank you Bonnie!!!!! We are all in this together! And aren't we lucky!!!
Thank you Kathie!!!!! Such kind words! We live for stitching and collecting stitching stuff. Such fun!
Thank you for sharing the mother's letter to her daughter. I can sew relate. You two make me smile with all your beauty, love of stitching and friendship. Watching your videos is inspiring!
Brenda your husband did a fantastic job on your new "pillow tree." How sweet and thoughtful!
Brenda and Laura, you are the best! Thank you so much. God bless.
Awwww..... Thank you so much Joan!!! You are very kind!
Brenda and Laura, I can’t begin to express how much I value and look forward to your videos. You have brought me comfort in this time of craziness. On a
side note, I am also so glad that I am not alone in my absolute obsession with all things stitching related!
Thank You!
Thank you so much for your kind and uplifting words Maryse!!!
Thank you so much for watching and leaving such a sweet comment Cathy! Aren't we lucky to have our stitching and quilting??? So lucky!!!
Brenda and the Serial Starter ❤️❤️you’re so kind
Hugs!!!
I love watching the two of you and your beautiful stitching and stories!
Thank you so much Cindy!!!!!
I love the rapport you have with one another. Your personalities make watching you a joy! And of course both of your stitchings are beautiful.
Thank you so much for your very kind words Ilona! They sure mean a lot to us!
Thank you so much for a beautiful message! Like you, I don't think I could have made it through this past 12 months without the comfort of stitching. 💕
Thank you so much!!!!!! Thank goodness you are creating wonderful projects to get all the stitchers through this time!!!
@@brendaandtheserialstarter2410 I have to contribute something - every time I watch your show I seem to order a new chart for myself! 💕😂
Thanks for sharing that Beautiful note. It really hit home for me. Brenda your stand is so pretty. So many great memories for you to have. Tell your husband great work. You two have a wonderful week stitching.
Thanks so much Peggy!!!!! Hugs!
Thank you for a great floss tube! I always feel good after watching you both.
Thank you Jane! That is a very sweet thing to say!! Hugs!
What a wonderful video, love it. Great to see you two again and love all of your fabrics you show. The letter was nice to hear and it touches me that we can all relate to it in some way, shape or form in our own lives. Thank you, thank you. Enjoy the stitching.
Thank you so much for watching and leaving a lovely comment!!
Thank you, thank you ladies. Such a joy to watch.
Thank you so much Daisy!!!!
Thank you so much ladies. The sentiments at the end really hit home for me. Things that give us pleasure bring the joy to our lives. 🌷
Thank you so much Hanya!!!! Hope you have a good weekend of stitching joy!
Thank you so very much for your kind words Andi!!! They just mean the world to us!!! Hugs!!!!! See you Sunday!
Always love your videos but I especially loved what you read at the end. Thank you both for sharing your stitching. It is truly enjoyable.
Thank you so much Sue!
So glad you went to Traditional Stitches and ordered stash, etc.!!!!!!!! You will be so happy when it arrives. Thank you for your kind words Ebelin!!!
Brenda and the Serial Starter 😊
You two are so much fun!
I loved the letter....so touching...loved seeing all of your wips and future projects...
You are the ultimate enablers and I love it...
Thank you for sharing with us...
Thank you so much Carol!!!!!!
Thank you Jackie!!!! The only thing that matters is being happy with what you are stitching on and enjoying it!
Thank you so much Linda!!!!!! We really appreciate your kind words!!!!
Karen
Thank you Karen!!!! We appreciate your kind words. Hugs!
Thank you Monica! You described the process perfectly!!! It is so much fun to dream over projects!!!
Yes, another video! Love watching you gals! Brings lots of happiness. 😊
Thank you so much Emily!!!
Such a touching note from mother to daughter. Stitching saves my life and sanity. I would be lost without it.
We are right there with you Bonnie!!!!!!! Hugs!
Thanks for another great video. It is always a treat to see the two of you.
So many samplers, so little time!I love your videos and the joy you share for stitching. Loved the last bit about enjoying the process and all your stash without feeling guilty about having it.
Thank you Donna!!!!!! No guilt! Just happiness!
- Stacey
Thank you for making such lovely things available Stacey!!!!!! We are looking forward to your next sale!!!! Hugs!
Ladies you are the best, I love visiting with you and seeing all of your beautiful needlework. You both Rock
Awwwww.....thanks so much Linda! We appreciate your kind words!
Thank you for this wonderful uplifting message Linda!!!! Wise words! Hugs!
Another great video. Thank you so much. Just love seeing all your work.
Thanks so much Sue!!!
Absolutely adore Brenda’s pillow stand display, your husband is so talented - what a treasure. I also agree with the ‘stash’ enjoyment! Great visit Ladies!
Thank you Eleanor!!! Yes, Rick is extremely talented and Brenda is very lucky!!!!!
Wow I really enjoyed this video. I always love watching you, but this was Extra special. You lifted my spirits. Everything you stitch is beautiful!
Thanks so much Paulette!!! That is a blessing that we could lift spirits!
I teared up at that letter. I love this community ❤ such support and joy.
Thank you Jasmine! Yes, this community is sure a comfort!!! Hugs!
Thank you so much your podcast. You so make my day. You both are a total joy!!
Thank you for your very kind words Marnie!!
Thanks so much Susan!!! By the way, my Mom "yelled" at me for throwing that piece of linen behind me! I better behave next time!!!!
Thank you for the beautiful ending to a wonderful show. Enjoy the process. Loved it all. Don’t know what I would do without my crafts, especially spending all this time at home.
Thank you Marilyn!!!!!!!
Thank you so much Lynn!!! It sounds like your son really, really understands the stash issue!! What fun to be in a family of people who "get it!"
Always uplifting to visit with you ladies today! And I love the stash reading that y’all read! The process is the best part!!! Love that!!!
Thank you so much Michelle!!! Yes, the process is so much fun!!!
Thank you for another very enjoyable hour of sharing your love of stitching. Have a wonderful week, stay well 😊
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment Donna!!!!!
Barb
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO ladies. Especially the last part that Brenda read. I don’t think I could make it through 2020 without my stitching and knitting ❤️
Thank you so much Julie!!!!!!!!! You are so right about the journey and the connections! They are so special!
Just love you ladies!! So inspirational and so pretty!! Keep smiling and stitching!! 😁💟💟
Thank you so much Cheryl!!!!!! Happy Stitching to you!
I am so lucky to have a husband and son who understand my cross stitch addiction and even enable me. Thank you for your wonderful videos!
That is the best Kim!!!!!!!!!!! So happy you have their support! You have ours too!!!
WoW 🤩 🤩🤩🤩 love that hanger for the pillows 🥰🥰🥰
You made me cry at the end. Thank you! 😘
Thank you for watching! and we are so glad that you felt those words so deeply.
Ladies I can't even begin to tell you how much you brighten my life. Just watching your friendship and all the beautiful cross stitch you do. What a beautiful message at the end. Thanks for the inspiration. But I can't stitch when you are on. I'm afraid I'll miss something. ❤❤❤
Thanks so much Debbie!!!!!! Your message is very kind and very much appreciated!
Debbie, you are so right. Brenda and Laura are the bright spot of my week.
Would love to know what your ten favorite samplers are!!! Thank you for watching and commenting Theresa!!!
Great video ladies. You are both so special! Thanks for all you share with us. I agree without my stitching I couldn't have made it through this year. Thanks for sharing that written piece about the stash too! Loved it!
Thanks so much Julie!!!!!!! We are all so lucky to have stitching to get us through these times!
Hugs!!!
Goodness ladies. You sure did pull at my heartstrings. Love your projects and look forward to your videos.
Thank you so much Tammie!!!!
Hello y’all !! Loved, loved loved your video! You both are so sweet . Have a wonderful 2 weeks of stitching and I can’t wait to see your progress on the beautiful samplers.
Thank you so much Jean!!!!!! Hugs!
Loved the note you read. Lately I have been feeling that I am acquiring too much but the process is so much fun. And of course the stitching, finishing and gifting my completed projects are rewarding.
Thank you Jean!!!! You are right...the process is so much fun!!! We need choices!
Thank you for your kind words Patricia!!!
Oh how wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!! You two must have the best time!!!!!! It sounds like two tons of fun!!!!!!!
Now I am crying thanks for sharing the letter and for bringing a little joy to us with your videos 🌻❤️
Thank you for watching Angela!!!!
I just love you two! What a great note about stash! And yes...I would love to just “come right in” and see all of your lovely stitching. Sampler September sounds fun! Thanks for showing us your stash and starts. Happy stitching 🧵 PS...I still miss football...😉
Thanks so much Diane!!!! We would love you to come right in too!!! We hear you on the football!
Thank you Brenda for sharing about all of our stash. It is so true and I feel the same. Love you guys❣️Diana
Thank you Diana!!!!!! We are all very like minded which is a real comfort!
Marilyn
Thank you so much Marilyn!!!!!! We sure were lucky to have those pieces to show this time from our family. Hope you have a lovely stitching weekend!
You girls! Are just too cute! Thanks for uplifting my day!
Thank you for saying so Janet!!! Hugs!
Just watched this episode and the quote you mentioned at the end really resonated with me. I worry about leaving all my stuff for my son to go through when I pass , so I will be leaving him a notebook with instructions on what to do with it all and will be inserting this quote in that notebook. Thank you.
Thanks for such a great video. Tears from what you read about stash. Happy stitching 🧵
Thank you so much Lisa!!!! Hugs!
Hugs!
