"Yeth, but how does it thtack up against the Equinoxth 800 ?? " ...Nice one for this review John! I think it is important to keep a relevant perspective on our hobby. It's not all about 'peer-ist attitudes' or crass brand orientated bigotry. Good on Dr Otek for providing a fun past-time metal detector set up for those who cannot simply go buy an expensive 'first-time must impress' machine, in order to show how serious a detectorist they are (not). Bang On!

Anybody comparing this with a Nox is daft beyond belief lol...but you know somebody out there is doing so. Thanks for watching my friend.

Why do people want to compare pricier items with the less expensive? It's just basic common sense not to even bother.

I'll stick with the F75 although cool to see what others are capable of. Tones for me are annoying .... just saying. Thanks for keeping it real THGT!!

I don't mind the tone at all. I'm a beginner. I Got up 10 in on mine. Big old pipe in the ground. I like simple. I'm pretty sure it'll do the basic things the more expensive ones do. From playing with it out sides pretty good. Identified items pretty deep. I didn't think it would go to deep but it does. Depends on the size of the item from what I gather. I got over 11 acres and about to put this to work. Good video by the way.

For less than $100 after tax (using the $20 coupon code) that is not really bad. Pretty good for a basic beginner detector!

It is not bad for what it is. I could see a person being happy - and wanting to move on to the next level at the same time.

The video is very good. I just bought the same detector and I want to know if I can change the ground balance in any way, since when detecting in wet sand it gives many false signals and interferences.
    Thank you in advance.

Take a look at the Simplex...it is more expensive at $254 dollars - but is 10X better than this - and waterproof.

Hey Hunter enjoyed your review on the Dr. Otek metal detector it's the first one I've seen. And for a little over $100 not too bad. Obviously it's not going to win any awards. But it does have a couple of features that a lot of other metal detectors in that price range do not have. Might get one for my youngest son that's just starting to get interested in metal detecting.
