With as many seraphim and zephyrim these lists have, I’d almost expect to see Celestine, but I understand trying to keep the cost down! 😁 she is a pretty model though! 🪽
at 2.25 points per dollar, showing up in nearly 50% of top placing tournament lists, and being a bad ass model she very well could belong in here! She is one of the most cost efficient units in here! Unfortunately Seraphim/Zephyrim are not particularly cost efficient on their own and only gain cost efficiency when being kitbashed with leftover Battle Sisters from the combat patrol (1.16 points per dollar). I opted for Morven Vahl instead because she is close to the same cost efficiency as Celestine and Paragon warsuits are the single most cost efficient unit in the codex, almost beating the entire combat patrol on their own. Hindsight 20/20 I probably include her in a list if I did this video again. I also wanted to find an excuse to buy the Triumph of Saint catherine to get 6 Dogmatas/Canoness/Palatines/Dialogus and just leave the coffin behind. Its 6 characters for the price of 3!
@@dittmar104 if you mean magnetizing the seraphim, it's not worth it. Just go buy another combat patrol so you can get a rhino + some bodies for kitbashing and use the left over wings. Rhino + 2 boxes of seraphim is $175 and would get you 10 fly girls. Combat patrol + 2 boxes of seraphim is $280 but gets you the Rhino, 25 fly girls (10 from the BSS you're kit bashing) and extra kit bashing from the repentia canoness and arcos. The price is higher up front but you get so much more out of it
Me: (Ends up getting Celestine anyway...) Going for 1000 point army and I think the only vehicle I got is a pipe organ in the list. I like how they play differently from my Tau forces, which are basically a lot of defensive units holding out for turn 3.
Haven’t started to build my sisters yet, and don’t need to budget my purchases much but I learnt a lot from this. Even without trying to keep costs down, it’s great getting to know what kitbashing is available through combinations of boxes.

Instead of crusaders and their objectively bad models, you can grab a sisters of silence box. This allows you to have 4 crusaders (just switch helmets so it's more sororitas) and with some kitbashing you can turn the squad leader into a character
This is an awesome series, I believe for hobbyists interested in 40K. Especially created in a welcoming format, I would myself and can agree to be a presentable format. Seeing with how we all want to start of hobby choices in a way that we don’t regret and want to save money. This is refreshing. Personally I’d love to see Tyranids, Necrons and Genestealers or Astra Militarum, on the next list of videos.
I'm glad you find it so inviting! I live in an area with a constantly growing 40k community and found myself regularly having to help people start their first armies in a way that would help them play what they wanted without getting decimated at the table. That was a huge part of me starting this series. To hear that others are finding it so welcoming is exactly what I hoped to hear. Necrons and tyranids will certainly be waiting until after the upcoming balance changes as I have the next 3 factions planned out.
Great video! I watched simillar ones from other creators, but noone included kitbashing as part of the process. Is there a chance for a video about building Custodes army?

I remember picking up SOB in soulstorm, because they look very cool, but, I TP I prefer DA, I'm very conscious about how expensive this hobby is, so, maybe in the future I build them.
They will probably be a 3D printed army for me. There are so many good online proxies for them, and GW gets enough money from me indirectly through all the paints, Tsons, and T'au I buy from them. Plus I'm always a sucker for awesome warrior women.

One of the lists I spoke about with a high-performing sisters player came out to around $1450 for a copy of his list if you didn't do any kit bashing and only bought a single combat patrol. It's got me dreading Admech for sure.

Thank you for catching that! Mistakes slip through unfortunately. I don't believe it changes any of the lists as you can still just use the Immolator on the 10 man BSS and save the Rhinos for the Arcos.
I only have a small amount of kitbashing experience as a lot of Thousand Sons units need to pull directly from Chaos Space Marines. My experience with it is: 1) "Don't be afraid to ruin parts of the model you're kitbashing". I wanted a specific staff head on a Terminator sorcerer to be more Tzeench, so I cut it off of one staff, cut the staff off the top of the head of the staff on the Termi-sorcerer and then glued them together. 2) "Use Greenstuff". Your pieces likely aren't going to fit together perfectly so you will need to use some kind of gap filler. If you can sand/file/scrape it down after it dries almost no one will notice it unless you go out of your way to point it out. Horrible advice and many mistakes in the video. Seraphim cannot go back into reserves (that was a 9th edition thing) and you should not kitbash one of the 3 Arco-Flagellants because they are pretty good as a 3 man squad. I wouldn't buy 2 of the starter boxes as well but rather all of the collection boxes once. They have great value and give you a little bit of everything. The only thing that "has" to be kitbashed is the 5 Seraphim from the Combat Patrol because they come with 5x2 boltpistols, which you will never play. Use there Handflamers from the Zephyrim-box instead instead
A 3 man arco flaggelant unit is very good! That's why there is one in every single one of the 2,000 pt lists. Alongside the 2 10 mans. Which makes 3 units of Arco Flagellants in the list. Which means you cannot take a 4th unit of arco flaggelants. And 6 arco flagellants isn't very good because of its cost scaling. So we kitbash one. Your other criticism about the Seraphims, totally fair though. I definitely made mistakes in this video, such as not catching a typo giving 2 units the Blade of Saint Ellynor.
The boarding patrol is an easy grab in my opinion if you can find it. I don't mention it in the video because it was a limited time release and I don't want to recommend things you can no longer buy.
That's a fun one I've been anticipating. The combat patrol for them is actually pretty crucial since it gives you so many extra bodies on all the boats. Without the combat patrol specifically its a pretty expensive army.
Arbitrarily. I didn't want to have a ton of different tiers for "500" "600" "700" 800" etc. and "600" "800" "1000" felt like it was too much of a gap. So I went with $150 for each range, figured that having a "Less than 500" tier would be ONLY custodes so I made it $600 and moved from there.
You're welcome to think that. Almost every part of these lists is based on GT winning/ X-1 lists from major tournaments tweaked for cost efficiency and double checked by prominent sisters players in the community I've met through my connections with the Art of War team.

Just a note, each Enhancement must be unique. The Palatine and Canoness cannot both have the Blade of St. Ellynor.
Yea, its a small oopsie that got overlooked. Messed up a bit of my copying over during the editing process.
In the seraphim set are towe jump paks but only 5 bits to complex them
You use the battle sister bodies from the combat patrol with the extra 5 packs.
The Immolator specifies BSS, Dominions or Novitiates for its ability to split squads so unfortunately it can't split Arcos
