Everyone's mentioning the "Thank You"s, but what's funniest to me is the audible gasp at 1:14:30. He's played this game an unknowable amount of times, but the game still found a way to surprise him.
This is easily one of the most pleasant things I've recently experienced on UA-cam. The kindness constantly coming from Pheenoh, his exceptional execution, the length of the video, the quality of the game and its music, just everything is so wonderful. Will continue to watch this video as frequently as I have been as a happy place, a way to fill the silence behind doing work, and something to go to sleep to. I look forward to Pheenoh's next run!
Oh the memories! I’ve been watching a bunch of zelda GDQ runs lately and this run fills me with the most nostalgia. I’d have to say TP is my favourite zelda game.
TheDoctorGnome That also happened to me 😂😂. it took me 2 years to get to there and at that point i stopped playing for like a year. Then another year later beat the game😂😂😂😂
for me it took me like 5 min, but I can understand that part being difficult. What it took me so long was finding the parts of the triforce for the first time in Wind Waker, never feel so frustrated.
I didn't have trouble with that, but I did have trouble at the prison cell in the first trip to Twilight. Couldn't figure out you had to dig out. Literally searched the jail cell for an hour before figuring it out and feeling like an idiot.
God I love this game. Easily the best story, storytelling, and world building in the series. Breath of the Wild's gameplay was good, but the story left MUCH to be desired.
Donald Trump Everyone has their own opinions on what is best and what isn’t. I personally think Twilight Princess is the best at storytelling, but all due respect to whoever doesn’t agree. You have the right to think something else is the best.
The story is excellent, IMO, but in terms of world building, Breath of the Wild is matched by NO other game in the franchise. That being said, TP definitely has the best looking dungeons, and with the most interesting mechanics and items. I do wish we got a bit more story surrounding the different areas in the game, particularly the actual function of the dungeons. OoT and Skyward Sword have the best dungeon stories.
TP was my childhood game, I got it on the Wii when it came out on the Wii when I was 6, and I ended up beating it when I was 11. It took me exactly 128 hours over a course of 5 years to beat the game as a carefree kid, and seeing it so brutally destroyed makes me twitch in the best way.
TP is like a late birthday present to me, it was my favorite game ever and it still is, I heard about it when my dad was playing it, and then I asked to play it, and I was around 4 years old, I could never read anything, so I asked my dad to translate a lot, and I sill haven’t beat it XD
Hey I have pretty much the exact same experience! Started playing before I knew how to read. Probably spent 2 years in ordon alone. Then when I was older ended up making it to the water temple like 3 times and getting stuck. Finally ended up getting it on GameCube and beat it when I was 10. I've beat it a couple times on wii as well now. I'll never play another game that will shape my life the way TP has.
I’ve never seen somebody as dedicated to something, this is my favourite game of all time, continue exploring Nintendo’s codes and doing runs as elaborated as this one!
Why are people making fun of him for being polite? It bothers me when speedrunners don't thank their audience, especially when they go out of their way to wish them good luck.
Imagine what the prince would think if he knew Link was casually waving his fancy schmancy earring in front of the most dangerous evil to ever plague their world.
I remember the boss key skip for Morpheel being a lot more dangerous in SD---you had to climb up some vines and get a bomb to explode you out of bounds, but not too far or you'd end up softlocking the game. Glad y'all found something safer!
Something I discovered while riding Epona in the HD game is that if you use the right control stick (the one you use to move the camera) to steer, it is way easier. I don't know if this is commom knowledge or not, though...
I don't understand why, I mean no offense and all that it. But Twilight Princess is quite old at this point and is already on three different consoles. A virtual console, sure. I can understand that. But not an actual port with the CD and what not.
I seem to remember that it was one of the last big releases for the Gamecube and came out so late in that console's "lifespan" that many people were concerned that it wasn't going to be released on the Gamecube at all.
1:33:33 Within a year, gymnast developed a way to super swim in RTA with no tools*... so I guess he accepted his own challenge. *Note he did this in Wind Waker HD. I'm not sure if "Pausa palooza" works in Twilight Princess HD.
"Yeah, to do superswimming... you need to alternate the analog stick back and forth 30 times a second, which isn't really humanly possible, unless someone wants to prove me wrong." How naive of you, Gymnast.
That must be what happened to me on my first ever playthrough of TP! He was saying if you hookshot Argarok too fast at the start of the first you can softlock. I softlocked in that fight and was just hanging onto the tail, unable to do anything with the boss just flying around for a few minute before I just restarted the system.
I was always annoyed that those guys showed up at the end and killed all the opposition when you get Hyrule Castle’s boss key. Not only did I want to fight all of those enemies, but the people just disappear, there was no point to show them in the Castle.

I find it ridicously fascinating how he is using amiibo to aid him in the speedrun. Idk, something about that just genuinely fascinates me... I'm curious to see if there are more speedrun out there that exploit the uses of these amiibos... They may be worth the buck after all. Lol, anyway, great run so far. Thanks for a good time
I use these to go to sleep. At 48:16, someone has a donation that asks to get married. Did the person say yes? Did the second dono with the answer come up?! MY ANXIETY! HELP!
If you go to the opposite side of the horse grass and play it Epona comes from the direction you came from saving some time at least that's how it worked on the gamecube.
Alright I have a general knowledge of this game to the point where I could run through the game without getting stuck too often. Assuming I didn't go for a ton of extra stuff, what's a rough estimate of how long the play through would take? Oot took me about 10 hours for one full playthrough (Without getting alot of side stuff) Can Tp be beaten near this time without using crazy glitches or is it just a vastly larger game...
Not getting the Hylian shield is uncredibly unsatisfying I think it's because you expect the best shield in the game to come up at the end (Ocarina of time , Majora's Mask , Skyward Sword , Breath of The Wild..) Pheenoh is the nicest runner I've seen I really like his runs he does a great job explaining what's goin on imo

I love how pheenoh says thank you after every good luck

Oh the memories! I’ve been watching a bunch of zelda GDQ runs lately and this run fills me with the most nostalgia. I’d have to say TP is my favourite zelda game.
Fantastic combination of technical prowess, explanations of what is going on, and personality. One of my favorite speed runs ever!
Finally a speedrun where someone on the sofa actually explains so the runner can focus more.
The is A Link To The Past 100% run where the player doesn't talk at all
?
Gymnast is a fantastic Zelda speedrunner. I read your comment and already had a feeling it was him
So like Bonesaw's run of Jak and Daxter in 2016? Super focused runner there.
Watch the kingdom hearts 2 with bloodbiskit
Shout out to guy on the right of the couch Hornlitz, he's a small youtuber i used to watch a lot. Amazing channel
What a nice guy so polite..... this guy just became my favorite runner of the marathon (sorry for my eanglish)
u literally spelt every word right besides english
beautiful game, i remember back when i buyed it and went no sleep all night till 8-9am to nearly finish the game. great experience , great years
One of the best games of my childhood
Thank you Pheenoh. Great run. Happy to see a speedrun of the LoZ with the best bosses
hey, looks, its me! 2,7,2022.
my buddy used to play this game on the wii i remember coming over and watching him for hours playing this. such a nice memory :) and an awesome game
I remember as a kid being stuck on the fishing to get the cat to come get the fish. I had no fucking idea what was going on and I gave up on it lel.
TheDoctorGnome That also happened to me 😂😂. it took me 2 years to get to there and at that point i stopped playing for like a year. Then another year later beat the game😂😂😂😂
Haha, the same thing happened to me. When I picked up the game again several years ago, experiencing anything past Ordon was sorta surreal.

Pheenoh is indeed a gentleman and one of the coolest, most chill, and informative speedrunners of all time in my eyes 🙏🏼

This is one of the nicest runners I’ve ever seen. The world needs more people like that right about now.
One of the greatest in the series.
Fell asleep right before this run (it was at 3:30), glad its uploaded haha.
The best part of Twilight Princess for me is not the look or gameplay but the sound. Its so distinctive and unique to the game and is so nostalgic.
Props to the runner and couch, plenty of good information to explain action intentions and some background lore - thanks.
