Tiana and Naveen are couple's goals. The movie doesn't just end with them getting married, but starting a business together doing what they both love: Tiana with the restaurant and Naveen bringing the fun with the band. Perfect example of opposites attract.
Same! I legit find Princess and the Frog underrated as well as Tia and Naveen as a couple. I actually love the restaurant name change, from place to palace, something I think most people didn’t notice at first.
I love that Charlotte was such a good friend to her totally agree rob that they could have easily villianised her and prince naveen and Tiana one of Disney top couples not to mention love it being set in New Orleans and being more diverse story from Disney I’d love for you guys to do mores Disney animation like you could do a Pixar movie series as they are one of the best movie studios animation or otherwise
Same! I read something that originally Lottie was going to be a villain/antagonist upon realizing Tiana was in love with Naveen, but I’m so happy they didn’t make her a stereotypical spoiled rich brat. Instead she was genuinely happy for her best friend finding love and getting rewarded for all her hard work with the restaurant.
I actually love the details of this movie. - Tiana is based on a real woman, her name is Leah Chase - The setting is 1920s Louisiana so the dynamic between her and Lottie actually being best friends is not necessarily common. Hence the 2 dudes belittling her. - Also the parallel dynamic of her saving Naveen with the "damsel in distress" mindest instead of it being herself
Fun fact: Mama Odie is actually Dr. Facilier's mother. In his song he says that he's a royal on his mother's side and Odie is considered the queen of the bayou. Also, the snake JuJu is said to be his father that he transformed and even stole his fangs to wear as a necklace.
@@silvia2688 and there’s a theory that Facilier was Tiana’s dad who supposedly died in the war. That he made a deal with voodoo to bring him back to life but instead he came back as an evil Facilier. But the Mama Odie’s son theory is most likely wrong if Facilier is Tiana’s dad cuz that would mean Mama Odie would be Tiana’s grandma, and Tiana would already know her, which she doesn’t. So the dad theory is prob wrong and the son theory might be the right one
Facilier's mother is the shrunken head he carries, and his necklace is crocodile teeth. But it is possible that Mama Odie is his grandmother or great aunt.
I like the fact that Lottie used the party as an excuse to help Tiana out with the money because we know Tiana wouldn't just accept money without earning it herself, Lottie may be a bit spoiled but she's the best friend there is 🥺😁 also the fact that she was willing to give up her lifelong dream of marrying a prince because of her friend😭💕
@@Lord_Ivoundy_Creood And at the end of the day she sacrificed the 1 thing money couldn't buy for her friend. For Lottie, it was a royal title that she gave up for Tiana to find love.
When Ray goes up to be with Evangeline that part ALWAYS gets me tearing up, it’s just so beautiful and sweet that he finally got to be with the love of his life😭🥰
There's a theory that nobody actually bid on the property, they just didn't want to sell to a black person and especially a black woman. The sugar mill has gone at least a decade without being bought and all of a sudden when she can buy it, someone comes and buys it? Not only that but when he told her, it looks like he made that up on the spot.
@@Sailorgirl1207 that makes a lot of sense, esp since they only gave it up after they were threatened by a croc. Even if she did have enough, they might’ve still rejected her. In a way, it’s sad that it took that much, and not just her hard work to get the restaurant.
Beignets are *AMAZING*. And also, this movie is just plain amazing, and I love the relationship between Tiana and Charlotte, they genuinely care for each other.
@@JuanitoEsBonito When I was at Disneyland with my little sister one year...back when we actually talked...we'd stop at the Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney and get an order of beignets, then we'd sit on the planter out in the center of the walkway and eat them before we went back to our hotel room with my grandparents.

Lottie (Charlotte, the blonde friend) is one of my fav Disney side characters. She's such a good friend, so different from the typical portrayal of what that she could've been. Being spoiled and rich didn't mean she wasn't a good person, which I absolutely LOVED. Also, as a POC Tiana was always one of my all time fav princesses (Second to Jasmine)
@@TaesmrTV Yeah for me at least, I'm south asian and she was the closest thing to representation at the time, and Aladdin came out before Princess and the frog, so Jasmine was my childhood.
There’s a long standing theory that Lottie had the blue dress made for Tiana. If you look at Lottie’s dresses all through the movie, she ALWAYS wears a variation of pink. Why else would she own a blue dress if all she ever wore was pink, unless she had the dress made for her best friend.
Also it fits Tiana perfectly. Consider that the blue dress is both strapless & backless. That would not stay on her if it was not fitted properly. Given the level of focus on those earlier dresses, yea these animators didn't just pick smtn random & pretty. As for how Lottie got the measurements, who is her seamstress? Tiana's mom, who prolly made every pricey garment Tiana owns. Considering even Mom thinks her daughter needs to live a little, she'd secretly do it for Lottie 100%. I bet that was either a lavish sorta gift that Tiana didn't feel she could accept due to how she is, or that was something made for later like her birthday/an outing.
One detail idk if it was purposely but I like to think so, is why would Lottie have a blue, non fluffy dress that also happens to fit Tiana? I like to think she got Tiana's mom to make a dress for Tiana, she would know her own daughter's measurements bc I'm sure she makes Tiana's dresses. And obviously, Tiana wouldnt just accept a gift as amazing as that dress so Lottie was just waiting for the perfect time to give it to her.
OMFG I never thought of it that way🥺 I knew Lottie was an amazing friend and I loved her but now I love her even more💙 she clearly likes no other color except pink and she clearly ONLY like poofy dresses so she had to have it made for her best friend!!
Lottie's dresses were only "fluffy" because of the cage thing women wore back in those days to make the dress fan out, it's not like Lottie was fat lol. Both her and Tiana were pretty skinny so it isn't like one of her dresses wouldn't fit.
@@RedRoseSeptember22 I’m pretty sure we BOTH know she wasn’t fat. we’re just stating the fact that she only liked the “fluffy” look of a dress and she only wore/had pink dresses🤦🏾♀️
@@RedRoseSeptember22 While she is by no means fat, she definitely does not have the same figure as Tiana. And on top of not being Lottie's style, this is a backless, strapless dress. If that is even a little too big, it won't stay on. It had to be made to Tiana's size to keep this movie PG lol.
Fun fact - Tiana's blue party dress was fashioned after the REAL first black Disney princess from the live-action Cinderella (1997). If you guys are ever in a mood for a fantastic musical please consider it. It has Brandy and Whitney Houston and other great actors. The songs are so incredible that are playlist worthy. I'm having so much fun rewatching these Disney movies with you guys. I forgot just how much I love this movie. I loved how real their love felt. It didn't feel rushed or forced. It was slow and realistic, and this is why it felt so satisfying in the end.
Fun fact: the salmonella cases went up after this movie came out since little kids started kissing frogs and Disney had to issue out a statement not to
People know that Charlotte is a good friend, and she absolutely is, but I feel like they overlook something important about her - she is one of the only characters in the movie that never criticizes Tiana or her work ethic. In the beginning a group of Tiana's friends show up and lament that she "always" works before leaving; while they like her, they don't support her or understand her dream of owning a restaurant. But Charlotte never tells her she needs to focus on dating, or have more fun, or just work less; she believes in her dream and Tiana's dream without reservation (and more obviously helps Tiana when she can, like kissing Naveen for her and paying her a lot of money for her cooking). She's great.
I love this movie so much, especially the banter between characters, the songs(ofc), the diversity in backgrounds, and the multiple loving looks between Naveen and Tiana. One thing that’s cool to me that I heard, was that the Dr. Facilier used to be Mama Odie and Juju’s son, then he turned Juju into a snake. Apparently in some of the cut scenes in friends on the other side, the he had eyes like juju, and he said he’s royalty on his moms side, and mama odie is the voodoo queen/queen of the bayou.
So originally dr. facillier is mama odie's son and juju was his father before he turned him into a snake, y'all should look into it, it's actually a really interesting theory.
Love this movie ♥Disney really needs more African-American princesses, or African in general lol. I always sob buckets when Ray passes away :( but I'm happy he became the "second star to the right" which is the gateway to Neverland in Peter Pan. I wish Disney would go back to 2D animation, it's much more magical and charming. Glad you all enjoyed it.
It wasn't just that this was the "last" Disney movie in 2D, they had pretty much fully gone to 3D/CGI by the time this came out, so on top of having a black princess and a prince of color (though it was really weird that he was from a fake country) we were all very excited to see a 2D Disney movie again.
The very last Disney film that actually looks like a Disney character before Disney changed its animation I miss animations like these unlike the now Disney such as Frozen ,Inside Out, Turning Red,Coco,Tangled
Disney didn’t produce Inside Out, Turning Red, or Coco. You’re criticizing Disney for not producing 2D anymore when Pixar was the one who created those and they’ve only ever been a 3D animation company. I get your point, believe me, but more than half of your examples were Pixar, and they never claimed to be Disney or 2D.
@@ma.2089 Disney own Pixar but then again Pixar animations have always been that 3D kind, since Monsters Inc haha. I do miss these old kind of animations though
Not you guys saying you’d kiss a frog when Disney themselves has to issue statements to stop people/kids specifically from kissing frogs after this movie. That’s salmonella waiting to happen 😂 This is one of my favorite Disney films, still underrated but the music and visuals are outstanding.
You guys... I'd be a frog if the person I truly loved was a frog! Also Evangeline means gospel, good news, sometimes angel or star and Ray was an angel on Earth so it makes sense he'd die and be a star! It's way too cute!
oh this movie is incredible. i remember crying so hard when i saw ray die for the first time and seeing it in this reaction made me cry yet again. ray was the best
Great reaction as always. As a suggestion i would love to see your reactions to kung fu panda 2 and 3 and also the how to train your dragon movies. I definitely think you guys would enjoy those
Honestly, everything about this movie was done right. The characters, the music, the vibe... I've watched this movie so many times haha My favorite song is Friends From the Other Side. Such a great, colorful yet spooky song.
There are some cool little details in this movie, for instance when Facilier's shadow comes across the wallpaper in the voodoo shop, the wallpaper turns into skulls. Also, when we look at the prince's card, he's not actually on cash, his shadow turns it into a lilly pad!
Wow, I wasn't expecting this reaction at all. Many of these take me by surprise but I'm so glad you did so! Another thing from you guys I can watch to take my mind off finals week.
This movie has always reminded me less of standard Disney and more of Don Bluth animated movies: the story structure is looser, more journey oriented, and about all the side characters you meet along the way. It's got real _Thumbelina_ , _Pebble and the Penguin_ , or even _Land Before Time_ vibes in that way, and I dig it. Speaking of, I'd love to see you react to some other Don Bluth classics, if you haven't seen them. _An American Tale_ or _Fievel Goes West_ are obvious choices, but I'd have to push for _Titan AE_ because I think it's totally underrated. I think you'd like it.
If you want to watch some more New Orleans location things, the new Interview with a Vampire (AMC+) is AMAZING!!! There's only 7 episodes so not a huge time commitment, but incredibly well done!
So many great old references to old movies and people!! Big Daddy- cat on a hot tin roof, Stella- street car named desire, Luis- Louis Armstrong etc etc
I absolutely love this movie. I grew up 45 min away from New Orleans, so when I'm homesick it's my go-to movie. It's very, very underrated in my opinion. So many beautiful characters in it. And I'm such a huge fan of Tiana.
I love this movie so much, it’s one of my personal favorite Disney Princess movies (might even be the most favorite!) your comments were hilarious and entertaining throughout, especially Zuff lmao, it was great getting to rewatch the film w you guys
This was my favorite movie when I was kid but now that I'm older I'm mad that this was the first movie about a black diseny princess and half of the movie she was a frog
Idk if any of you noticed that Disney does this easter egg thing with their animations, where they hide parts of previous Disney animation themes or characters within another movie. At the big ball there were a slew of Disney easter eggs hidden in the costumes. 1. Zorro 2. Aladdin 3. Toy Story 4. Hercules (the dad) 5. I think the saxophone could be from Fantasia....I don't remember. 6. Lottie was dressed as Cinderella. 7. I think Tiana was Maid Marian from RobinHood ( I believe this movie is a disney property). 8. Mama Odie had the key to Cinderella's tower room in her hand with the candy she pulled from her pocket, when she offered them some candy. END The animation was so rich in color. Sadly, it was the end of the 2D era. But it was done so beautifully, that it does make my nostalgia long for more of it. The music score and songs sung....top shelf. Especially, Anika Noni Rose as Tiana. Her voice is incredible. It really shines in that "Almost There" song. Keith David as Dr. Facilier, I loved. Been a fan of him, and his voice since the 80's. You can't mistake it. Some people may remember he did voice animation back in the day as the leader of The Gargoyles in the cartoon. I've also been a long time fan of Jenifer Lewis who played Mama Odie. Although, this was the first time I've heard her use that voice she used for the character. I'm used to hearing her powerhouse voice of someone not to be played with. She's really hilarious. Loved her ever since I seen her on "A Different World" many years ago. Now, she's the grandmother on the tv show "Black-ish". The talented cast is just unmatched. They even got Oprah to voice Tiana's mother. For his small part, Terrence Howard really sold the father as a warm hearted loving man who adored his family. Very wholesome. But you know Disney and their dark habit of killing parents and orphaning the protagonist. I get it has to do with Walt Disney himself, and his back story, but come on. We are in a new Century. Can we keep the parents alive some times? I liked that they didn't shy away from showing the times of the era by showing life in the 20's through the trolly window. How they transitioned from rich neighborhoods to the zoning of black people in a poorer side of town. The matching hut houses, that once used to shelter as slave quarters, said a lot about American history in that shot. Although, it has a lot of pluses here, there are some negatives. I thought it sort of coward with not making her friend one of the antagonists. I'm like, most rich people from that era had an entitled mindset and a vocal attitude that they were better than.....so it would have made sense if Lottie would try to wedge between Tiana and Naveen if she thought they had chemistry, and she wanted him because she didn't think Tiana was worthy of having him, because of what Tiana is. They went the safer route. I've noticed comments that try to undermine the main character and give pedestal praise to Lottie over Tiana. Although I loved this movie.... (I even got to name my niece and named her Tiana, so she'll have a Disney Princess of her own to feel a connection of representation.), I will have to agree with the dissatisfaction that this is the only Disney Princess that spent most of her movie not in her own skin. Tiana was a frog for almost 2/3 of the movie. There was a backlash about it, because it seemed sus af.

“ he’s not a little daddy” ZUFF PLS
my fav small detail is dr. facilier telling naveen, "you just wanna be free, HOP from place to place." best foreshadowing
Princess and the Frog is an absolute masterpiece and definition of comfort movie
lol @43:33 “it’s raining 😔 it’s pouring ☹️ the old man is snoring 😩” that got me ajdbjsfh evangeline was crying for him fr
The video went to an ad right after Charlotte said, "We'll be right back sugar!" X'D
Haha Zuff was really enjoying himself with this one 😂😂
10/10 this movie is perfect in everything the story, animation, Villain, characters everything is perfect...
ugh the cutest film ever. ray up with evangeline scene always gets me
ya i like how charlotte didnt turn into a villian and was actually a goat of a friend
This is my absolute favorite Disney movie. I know all the words and I rewatch this all the time. Awesome reaction!
So originally dr. facillier is mama odie's son and juju was his father before he turned him into a snake, y'all should look into it, it's actually a really interesting theory.
Not the grandma firefly with the walker though 😂😂😂
Lottie is one of my favorite side characters in Disney 😭❤️❤️
3人が素直に素敵な反応をしていて冷めてないのが好き✨
どんなときもときめかせてくれる
ディズニープリンセス!
Great reaction as always. This is one of my favourites I still watch it when I’m sick sometimes.
Not you guys saying you’d kiss a frog when Disney themselves has to issue statements to stop people/kids specifically from kissing frogs after this movie. That’s salmonella waiting to happen 😂
This is one of my favorite Disney films, still underrated but the music and visuals are outstanding.
You guys... I'd be a frog if the person I truly loved was a frog! Also Evangeline means gospel, good news, sometimes angel or star and Ray was an angel on Earth so it makes sense he'd die and be a star! It's way too cute!
The song at the end, “Your the Best Thing I Never Knew I Needed was used in my son’s wedding. Love this movie!
39:03 I cried my heart out for Raymond 😭😭😭😭😭
Yes, Tiana’s father died in the military
I swear Zuff just says random stuffs and guess the whole movie.
oh this movie is incredible. i remember crying so hard when i saw ray die for the first time and seeing it in this reaction made me cry yet again. ray was the best
Great reaction as always.
As a suggestion i would love to see your reactions to kung fu panda 2 and 3 and also the how to train your dragon movies.
I definitely think you guys would enjoy those
the songs in this movie are soo sooo good, so fun , super inspiring ,sunny and just wow
46:40 this part always gets me 😂
21:52 I love how these guys get so into the movies they watch. It’s not just a blank faced expression along with giving comments every other minute
y'all always have the best reactions ever!!
Such a cute movie- so glad it was picked! ❤
Honestly, everything about this movie was done right. The characters, the music, the vibe... I've watched this movie so many times haha
My favorite song is Friends From the Other Side. Such a great, colorful yet spooky song.
There are some cool little details in this movie, for instance when Facilier's shadow comes across the wallpaper in the voodoo shop, the wallpaper turns into skulls. Also, when we look at the prince's card, he's not actually on cash, his shadow turns it into a lilly pad!
evangeline 😭💗😭💗
ZUFF MAKES ME LAUGH TOO MUCH WITH HIS COMMENTS 😭
Wow, I wasn't expecting this reaction at all. Many of these take me by surprise but I'm so glad you did so! Another thing from you guys I can watch to take my mind off finals week.
The crane looking bird is an Egret.
zuff is right about new orleans being amazing. there's something magical about it
This movie has always reminded me less of standard Disney and more of Don Bluth animated movies: the story structure is looser, more journey oriented, and about all the side characters you meet along the way.
Pumba from lion king did say he always though the stars were fireflies that got stuck in the night sky.
I’ve seen this movie so many times and I still cried lol
It's such an underrated animation from Disney and I can't understand why it's so good and sweet, animation is amazing and songs just spot on..
NOLA is a great time def recommend. Zuff youre amazing. Keep dancin 🥳
💚 Frogtastic!!! Best musical score!!!
"That is so fabulous that house!" You always make me crack up🤣🤣
8:30 should do voice acting, that alone was really good
Yeah Evangeline was definitely dead the whole time, I’m glad her and Ray reunited in the afterlife
I'm from new Orleans. this movie got us down perfectly. accents and all 😂
This movie is so underrated. Definitely in my top 5 favorite Disney movies
This was my favorite movie when I was kid but now that I'm older I'm mad that this was the first movie about a black diseny princess and half of the movie she was a frog
IKR I felt the same way🙄
New Orleans can be a great time if you do it right. Mardi Gras is always fun.
Dr Facilier is a good Disney villain. If you were to go to Disney world and I think Disneyland he is a villain at the Halloween parties!
Tiana as a lil girl stated she’d never kiss a frog. Never say never, sis bc nothing in this life is impossible 🌚
this movie is one of my favorite ♡ nice reaction boys. watch mulan please its perfect too
ahhh looking forward to watch this one with you! ✨💚
6:38 from what my mom told me it USED to be. But after Katrina....its kinda sad actually
I loved this movie as a kid! One of my favorite disney movies is Meet the robinsons, yall should react to that
Idk if any of you noticed that Disney does this easter egg thing with their animations, where they hide parts of previous Disney animation themes or characters within another movie.
At the big ball there were a slew of Disney easter eggs hidden in the costumes.
1. Zorro
2. Aladdin
3. Toy Story
4. Hercules (the dad)
END
The animation was so rich in color.
They do that to alot of black leads.
I say leave them in their skin. My opinion
I love it when you guys watch cartoon movies
MY FAVORITE DISNEY PRINCESS MOVIE HANDS 🙌🏾 DOWN 10/10
🎥🍿🍫👸🏾💖🐸💯✨ I REMEMBER THIS CAME OUT IN DECEMBER AND WENT TO GO SEE IT AT THE MOVIE THEATERS!!!.. IT WAS JUST SUCH A WHOLESOME MOMENT FOR ME!!!… EVER SINCE THEN I ALWAYS SEE MY SELF AS PRINCESS TIANA!!!..
I SCREAM EVERY TIME NAVEEN SAYS “ AND I’M ABOUT TO DO IT AGAIN “
😂🤭😩😍✨ PLEASE SOMEBODY SAY THAT TO ME
The bad guy reminds me of Screamin' Jay Hawkins
love you boys!!. can you turn the audio from the movies up a smidge in the future? xxx
it's a bad representation of African based religion? yes.
I still love it? yes!
I'm Brazilian and part of a African Brazilian religion called umbanda, we have some similarities!
and I live the fact that Prince Naveen voice actor is Brazilian! I love his accent 🥰
I love all of these guys like genuinely the most adorable reactions I've ever seen
