Great review Jay! I'm still happy with my Timp 3, so will likely need to skip the 4. I've put 250km in my LP6 and am already considering retiring them. They feel flat already and they make me feel so sluggish on the trails, so I'll use them mainly for hiking. Timp is still my favourite Altra trail shoe. Glad the 4s are also good 😊
Yes, I am enjoying the Timps. Sorry to hear the LP6 are going flat. I have had pretty good luck with the LP5. I have close to 500km on them and they still feel good to me.🤷
@@TheOldUltraRunner I kinda have the impression the ego midsole needs a week or two to recover to feel as new again. 😅 Maybe wearing them daily for 15km+ runs would make any shoe feel flat
I still have the timp 2 and have tended to the less squishy shoes such as the superior 5 recently. I may go back to the timp when my long runs get longer, injuries permitting! Thanks for the review, Jay 👍🏻🏃♂️
Thanks for watching, Mark! I think my less squishy Lone Peaks are still my first choice. However, I am enjoying have a good option. Maybe the superior 5 should have been my choice. However, I have this long race in August that is part pavement and part trail, I think the Timps will work well for the race.
Great review Jay, thanks for sharing, thought I saw this one but didn't see my comment here and I might missed it! Fully watched and enjoyed a good review! All the best wishes dear friend!
I really want to do some trail running. I enjoy my Hoka Torrent V1's. I also have an unused pair of Salomon Ultraglide's that I want to break in. Enjoy your Timps Jay!
Sorry, I don't really know. I have not gotten to run in them in wet conditions yet. Based on them having the same Maxtrac outsole as the Lone Peaks, I would guess fair but not great.
Interested in these Timp 4s for slightly longish runs and hiking. How stable are they in terms of lateral stability? Did you feel nice and stable in them? Thanks
I feel pretty stable in them. I like them on both the trail and for road to trail. I don't think the lateral stability is quite as good as my Lone Peaks though. I guess that should be expected with the higher stack height.

@@TDMiller mine are probably lasting a bit longer because I only make it to trails 1 or 2 days each week

Great review! I still haven't tried Altra but one day I hope to.
Thank you for watching, Jeremy! If you do ever try Altra, remember it might take a bit of time to transition to them due to the zero drop platform.
@@TheOldUltraRunner I trail run in sandals so I might be OK. But you never know!
I remember now you run in sandals. I bet you would be fine.

Thank you for watching friend!😀
So happy for you to find your comfortable shoes on your feet!! Thank you so much for the great review about them. 😍😍😍
Thank you, Monica. I really appreciate you watching!

Thank you, Ray! I have heard really goo things about both of those shoes. You really do have a lifetime supply.
Great review Jay. When I wear my Hoka Speedgoats out I'm definitely going to give Altras a try.
If your Speedgoats are working well for you, no need to change. I have heard great things about the Speedgoats as well.
Ive had 2 pair of Speedgoat 5s blow yhe inner toebox out. One at 250 miles and the 60 miles. Hokas return/warranty is a frustrating process.
Great review. Seems like a good solid shoe. If I didn't have my Olympus 4's I would probably go for a pair of these.
Olympus 4 is a solid shoe as well. These are slightly less cushioned and a little lighter. Thanks for watching!
Great review. I have a pair. They work well for me
I like them as well. I will enjoy these and still my Lone Peaks.
Great review how are they on damp rocks?

Any update on durability?
I have only put about 140 miles on mine so far.
Good so far, but I need to put more miles on them.
