This is amazing that i found your channel not that long ago watching your video about acquiring your 97 town car while I've been looking for my own. Just got my own 95 town car and do have loose ash tray lids in the back and now i know how to fix them without even needing to search around for the answer, this info is a lifesaver! Also you wouldn't happen to be able to show the best way to take that piece of panel off to be able to look at the springs would you? If not that's okay i just don't want to break anything in it already y'know? Thanks again though, these videos about very specific things in cars like this are genuinely so important and i hope the rest of the restoration goes well!
I'm glad this video helped you out. I'll make a YT Shorts video on removing the lid from the main assembly for you, as well as removing it from the door panel.
Mine have gone floppy. I was thinking about getting a pair of small magnets, and gluing (glueing? tf do you spell this word?) one to the lid & one to the body, but I might have to give this a try. Thanks!
