Scary to think about how low the quality has slipped in current times when it comes to build quality. These panther bodies will run for 300,000 miles nearly trouble free.
I've owned them all and the 95-97 beats all for handing and riding and they are rock solid! Of course my 85 Signature Series had they best seats! They were like lazy boys! You were lucky to find that car, it looks like it's in beautiful condition! Why would someone send that to the junk yard? Crazy! Oh and whitewall tires would make an outstanding difference too!
I agree. I would like to get some whitewall tires for it. From what I understand the previous owner had some health issues and could no longer drive. Family scrapped it rather than selling.
Honestly man I'm really jealous for that price. I have a 99 Grand Marquis with 115k miles, pretty clean I wish I could trade ya but I'm sure you won't give this thing up.
I had a 97 Lincoln not to long ago and it was a very comfortable ride smooth wish I still had it but sold it like a dum ass cuz I couldn't keep up two Mager cars I also have a 1991 ford ltd crown Vick my daily car I'm trying to restore that a very comfortable ride too but my budget was one or the other the crown Vick was a little more cheap ather words didn't have the computer digital dash or leather like my 97 Lincoln bit I do miss it
90-92 is my favorite, with 1990 in particular being a standout year for me. Functionally speaking, 95-97 models are far and away superior to the 90-94s, and the '90 is probably actually the worst one, having the old 150-horsepower 302 and the AOD. But I just like the trim and the details on the '90. As well as the wheel options.
My . 97. Was the biggest pile of crap that came out of Detroit more recalls more engine problems than anything else three intakes later because of the plastic intakes would break two sets of air suspension every year an alternator and battery heated seats never worked moonroof leak like a sieve cruise control didn’t work Air conditioning continual problems my 86 my 89 77,78, 7980 we’re all far better Lincolns I was so thrilled to take that 97 to the scrap yard and I bought that with 18,000 miles on it and it spent more time in the shopthan anything else
I'm sorry to hear about your negative experiences with your '97. My '97 is nearly 30 years old and has over 130k miles on it and is still rocking the original all nylon intake manifold and the original Firestone rear air springs. I intend on replacing them preventatively anyways just for peace of mind. I also own an '89 Town Car (see my most recent video), and it is my personal opinion than the '97 is the better made and more reliable vehicle, though this is not to discredit the quality and durability of the '89. I believe all Town Cars are high quality and dependable vehicles, going all the way from the early '80s CFI models to the final STAP made cars of the late 2000s. I do all my own repairs and maintenance on my vehicles, no matter how in depth it may be, so they never spend time in the shop, unless my garage counts. It has been my experience that the dependability and durability of these cars only improved as time wore on.
@ I worked for Ford, which helped two sets of Ford airbags with sad three intakes on mine they kept splitting and every one of them were an updated one out of Ford. It was one Lincoln I should’ve never bought. I should’ve bought another older one at the time that was my last experience with Ford and went over to Vwand I’ve had three Passat since we’re out one when was a diesel and one was a W8 and I traded those in and a 2018, but if I could afford it right now, I would buy a 1979 Mark five I would have another one of those I miss mine so much.
solid buy man, looks like you were in the right place at the right time !
Love this red/red color. Great score! Makes me want one of these...
Beautiful! Nothing rides like a Town Car. Put some whites on and cruise. Some rust repair on the dog legs. Nice one! 👍🏽
I love these to bits
It's a beauty. As long as it runs at least a little bit it is worth it.
Beautiful car fellow high class brother. I had an 89 black town car with the waterfall grill back in the early 2000s. Loved that ride.
As a fellow Pimp Daddy,. Enthusiasts are not doing enough justice like your video 🙌
Beautiful American luxury car!

Executive is the base Town Car trim followed by Signature and Cartier.
best looking and most reliable cars ford have ever made
Immaculate
❤ My blue 97
This was my first car, same year and same color. Man i regret selling it, hope to get another one day in good condition
UA-cam, want to see a 1997 Town Car Executive?
Me, yes.
They should have still put the 460 in this.
That would have been lovely..
U got the executive trim. I assume u are wearing a button down and tie as you review this car. I can’t confirm this but I expect it.
If you can get your hands on 90-94 seats theyre worth swapping in. At least with 97 you can swap in the 3rd gen tall headrests
The floor pan is the same from the 80`s so the seats will fit. I put 89 signature seats in my 91 executive

On your clear coat touch up...use a spot blender

😅if you put some trues and vogues on that thing it would look beautiful...
90-92, 93-94, or 95-97?
