Thanks for these videos. I've been following them up to this point as I'm re-building my N55 engine. Obviously similar to the N54, I've got a major difference in my cams with the eccentric shaft. Do you have any videos or input on how to handle that re-installation as it compares to this video?

I am not sure I get your question a 100%... But my understanding is that you wonder if I have on video about the specificities of the N55... I unfortunately don't. I did cover the N54 more or less all across the board, as you have noticed.
Hope this answers your question. If not, don't hesitate to precise it so that I can't answer to you better.

@@quebecdiy9906 I guess it was kind of a vague question lol. I was just wondering if you'd work with an n55 or the valvetronics system. Your videos have been tremendously helpful. Im also using ISTA for guidance but your videos really filled in some gaps.

@@JamieMeloni I'm sorry, but I won't be working on an N55 any time soon. I wish I could help you more. Perhaps if you look for BMWs forums... maybe you'll find info there.
Good luck on your project and research!

Amazon, eBay.

I honestly don't know. I would check on www.realoem.com or on dealer web sites to see if it is the same part number. Or you can check with the dealer directly.
You can probably buy used one from scrap or on ebay or something like that. Good luck on your research.

Did you replace the cam ledge bolts? Or can i use them again

I did not find any information saying that these bolts needs to be replaced, so I used the same bolts. The information I found, says the bolts thread must be dry for the torques specs.
Also, I had to replaced my exhaust camshaft (on my video number 83 here is the link ua-cam.com/video/MpTbWRV_Qw4/v-deo.html). Which lead to disassembling the camshaft twice. And I never felt like these bolts thread were stretching.

Are the intake and exhaust lifters different

They are the same (at least on my car). But to be sure, I'd suggest you to go check on www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select where you can enter your VIN and double check that they both have the same part number.

As I've been asked for it a couple of times, here is the link to the valve Compression tool (to remove valves) I used amzn.to/2XYxC7e
And here is the tool to hold down the valves (to remove camshaft) amzn.to/2xae98q

@svtfast the link above is the valve compression tool I used on the video. Thanks for your comment. I wrote "Extraction tool". Just corrected it after your comment. I have other valve compression tools, but they were too big. This one was cheap and perfect for the job as it has different valve size adapter.
