Wow what a great update video. The river tank has really grown in. I hope they have luck in breeding the Blue phantoms. Can't wait for the next episodes. Thanks again.
Its crazy how expensive this hobby has become since covid. I used to have 6 tanks, 320 gallons and now i cant even get into it again. A 120 gallon in the US costs $500 now and i cant imagine how much the rest would cost me. Maybe in another lifetime.
Here in Australia we get a lot of people selling tanks secondhand on Gumtree and you can get some great deals. The brand new tanks are super pricey here though too
Here in Spain has got worse. It never was a cheap hobby but now everything is so expensive. Even a normal goldfish now costs like 5-10 € (5-10 $) when they used to cost cents. I talked with a shop owner and she told me that is because much commercial connections with Asia or other European countries have disappeared. It’s sad.
Plenty of well priced second hand tanks available (in the UK anyway). They do start to get a bit more expensive when you're going over 6', but they are out there. I would only ever buy a new tank if it was something specific that I really wanted. They depreciate like nothing else.
Can’t believe how expensive those fish are. I would think there would be tons of people breading them. Loved the video, as always they are really interesting and informative.
That river tank is looking awesome !!! You're right about the Blue Phantom's being cheaper in other countries, I saw some online here in the USA for $40 - 3" to 4". It's the first time I've every seen them, what a beautiful Pleco !!! 🥰
I just watched some videos from Florida where these young guys were trapping Oscars, chiclids, and every variety of catfish you can think of out of a lot of unlikely places. Once they're out, they thrive in FL.
That’s is a beautiful tank Kaity ! I would love to have something like that. I see why you set up a similar tank at your place. Also, You look very nice dressed up in black!
The thing that sucks about being young is that I don't have money to buy a giant fish tank and make an awesome Aquascape and by awesome fish. I'm stuck with my plumetail platys at the moment.
I know the feeling! If it's what you have your heart set on you will get there. I got all my tanks super cheap from Gumtree for a long time. The moment I started full time work I saved ALL my money to get my Waterbox tank instead of saving it for a house 😂
I just got a 250 litre curved front in the UK for FREE from a gumtree “please collect”. It’s now a slate Tanganyikan beauty’s home ( multis n some Julie’s ) all for the price of the fish, an Amazon led light and a 2 filters smashing the surface. Get looking dude!
Are these Blue Phantom Pleco L128? These are £44.95 in my local store. I remember that you've showed Pea Puffers the other day which are $150-200 in Australia and only about $5 in the UK. What makes them so expensive? Are they illegal to import? I know that these plecos are super hard to breed in aquariums, but pea puffers just need food and water to make babies.
That's the ones! They're illegal to import here and there's not a lot of supply here so it drives the price up. The pea puffers have come down in price significantly since they started getting bred here, because I think they're easier to breed like you mentioned. But the plecos will probably stay at a higher price for longer
I don't think you could keep them contained in there unless it was enclosed. They might hang around it but they would probably end up roaming around the shop 😂
Wow that is crazy to me that Plecos are worth thousands of dollars, I am from Florida, and here they are so common that they have become an invasive species.
I have 2 guppies with curved spines, one of them has a tail that looks heavy (it’s tail is going downward but it’s not that down) and the other one has a curve on its back and a small S shape curve in its tail (the meat makes its body look straight but the bone inside is curved). Do you know if it’s scoliosis or tuberculosis? It’s male and female, they both got it in adulthood and the male got beaten up before it’s spine got curved (they don’t show any symptoms but the male had scale loss due to getting beaten up but it’s healed then got a curved spine) pls if you know can you tell me how common tuberculosis is and how to tell if it’s scoliosis or tuberculosis
I can't believe plecos is an expensive fish in australia while in indonesia the country right above australia plecos are an invasive species u can even easly find em on small waterway, gutter and water drain system
I love that they work with fish and are called Marina and Finn xD
Hahaha yes 😂 It's definitely meant to be
this looks like such a great store! definitely excited to see more videos with finn and marina
That's awesome to hear! Yes, it's a really great store that they've got 😊
Wow what a great update video. The river tank has really grown in. I hope they have luck in breeding the Blue phantoms. Can't wait for the next episodes. Thanks again.
Thank you 😊 Yes it's doing really nicely! It's so rewarding seeing it grow in
It was cool to see the river tank maturing.
Yes it's amazing! It's so satisfying seeing the progress
I hope you become super famous one day. Your passion is infectious. Thanks
Another great video, Kaity! it's so crazy how big your channel is growing. I remember when I first subscribed, you were at 800. I'm so happy for you!
Thank you so much!! Yes it's been crazy the growth 😱 Thank you so much for all of your support for so long 😊
Dude's got a PhD in aqua scaping and fish keeping. Beautiful and impressive

What did a 120 gallon in the US cost pre-COVID?
Here in finland prices are about same than pre-covid but 120gal here still cost like 700-1000$ 😅

Over here they cost around 50 euro's. It's insane how expensive they are down under.
Great video Kaity, the stream tank is looking good and starting to grow in well, Thanks for sharing 🙂
Thank you Jason! Yes it's growing in really nicely 😊
As always great content from you. The river tank is simply amazing...

Dostum bu nasıl bir tasarım bayıldım...🤩🤩🤩
The sewellia lineolata 🤩🤩 I’ve been looking for them for years in Brisbane and I could never find them!
That’s is a beautiful tank Kaity ! I would love to have something like that. I see why you set up a similar tank at your place. Also, You look very nice dressed up in black!
Thank you so much 😊 Yes this tank certainly gave me a lot of inspiration! I absolutely love it
dream tank
Would be cool to have crabs or other sorts of amphibious creatures that could roam onto the above water sections of the tank.
OK Thanks !
Nice setup. Inspiring
Side note
Those mics you use are great
I have them in my everyday kit
They are the best!!
That’s crazy! Blue phantoms here in Sweden are about 140$ for a full grown specimen and about 30-60 for babies
Another awesome update, was hoping you would visit them
again, best aquarium shop in Austalia.
Thank you so much Jeremy 😊 I definitely need to make the trip there more often!
Very nice setup
when u threw the bag I died hahaha
Lol I'm glad you thought it was hilarious as we did
Beautiful interesting aquarium👍👍👍
my left headphone is very happy to hear all about the aquarium
My eyes are very happy to read this
Are enjoying your content???
Yessssssss!!!
😁😁😁
Wunderschön😍😍😍
how do you keep the fish in their tanks wouldnt they be upside down
The thing that sucks about being young is that I don't have money to buy a giant fish tank and make an awesome Aquascape and by awesome fish. I'm stuck with my plumetail platys at the moment.
Platys are awesome. Just appreciate :)
Nothing wrong with platys they're cool fish
If you are also in Australia you would know that plumetails are very hard to find here. I also have some, I love mine
I know the feeling! If it's what you have your heart set on you will get there. I got all my tanks super cheap from Gumtree for a long time. The moment I started full time work I saved ALL my money to get my Waterbox tank instead of saving it for a house 😂
That river tank is absolutely stunning. Thanks for the tour. When should we expect you to start building your own river tank? Lol
Hahaha, I would love to! Maybe when I own my own home it'll be on the cards 😂
Cant wait to see what Finn brings to the auction this month.
Very interesting
7:27 was crazy

@@Kaityscichlidswhy would a random pleco be illegal to import but legal to house and breed?
@@brandonadams7837 I honestly have no idea, we have the same rules now for a lot of pets in Australia, you can breed/sell them but can't import them
I shouldn't be grateful for your content Kaity...it has a direct and negative correlation to my bank account. BUT....thanks for bringing us this. 🤣😉
😂😂😂
Hi i dont know if you will answer me… but i got a Green phantom pleco , do you know how much its worth and how rare it is?😀
I'm not too sure, sorry!! It'll depend how common they are in your area I think 😊
I love this tank! Such a natural feel. What is the filtration? Is there a sump?
It has a large sand filter 😊
Bravo from Romania
@10:03 what is that??? It looks fantastic! :D
A ribbon eel!
@@titicarcar Ty! I'm looking into establishing a coral aquarium in a year or two but don't really want fish. This thing is amazing!!
the voice chased me away
Is it possible to keep some frogs 🐸🐸🐸 as well and how to prevent them from jumping out ?
I don't think you could keep them contained in there unless it was enclosed. They might hang around it but they would probably end up roaming around the shop 😂
Tip for filming. Pick up a polarizer filter for your vlog setup. It’ll help with the glare on surfaces like aquarium glass and water
Thank you!! I got one for my DJI Pocket but completely forgot to use it. I'll need to look into one for my Sony camera too
I got rid of my reef tank because of the running costs in the uk .I miss having a tank .I may start a filter less planted nano shrimp tank.
Wow I didn't realize how expensive the Blue Phantoms were in Australia! In Canada (Toronto at least) you can get em for as cheap as $30
Yes they are crazy expensive here!
the Ribbon Eel is beautiful
Yes I was blown away by how gorgeous it is!! And very cheap compared to a lot of other fish
Cheers
Please share the Tank size....❤❤❤❤
Is it safe to say the L046 zebra plecos are 10k in auisie land?! Lol but love this tank! Ty for sharing!
Hahaha, you're not far off, those are also over $1000 per pleco :'(
A local fish store near me recently had a pair of zebras for sale for AUD$3,500...
Hi Kaity !!!!!!!😁
Hello!! 😄
Nice.. , kaitty
those plecos are now considered invasive species where i'm at. it's so numerous that it has displaced indigenous aquatic life.
Yay!!!
🎉🎉🎉

Çok güzel video olmuş arkadaşım eline sağlık
Thank you 😊
Nice
In my village you can see the golden snail in wild
lol i saw the blue phantom pleco for 30 bucks in my local fish store last time
멋진 영상 보고 갑니다 오늘도 좋은 하루 돼세요
Thank you 😊 You too!
Wow
These plecs are £25 each in UK and lots of them
It's beautiful 😍
Don't plecos get huge?
Blue phantoms stay smaller. About 6 inches.
Common plecos can get like 2 ft. Many other species stay smaller.
To grow to the size I've seen for green/blue phantoms it would take a decade and more. I've seen wild caught almost a foot long.
That's crazy, L128's are $40 in the states.
Guess im going to have to take the 45min drive and $30 of tolls to visit atlas again. Hopefully i dont spend hundreds of dollars more.
Lol I feel you, by the time I drove through the 3rd tunnel I knew the tolls were going to be bad 😂 Definitely worth it though
Whaatt! The blue phantom plecos in Singapore, are only $50-$80 SGD ($38-&60 USD). Thats really expensive. 0_0
No wonder your plants are doing so hot, with that crew of apple snails
Mouth almighty are awesome fish I used to have a group of them
The one that bit your finger lol
Yes they are so cute!! I think theirs have been breeding
These aussie girls are super cute.
Thank you 😄
OmflippingGosh...She just....yeet...the fish to him....dying right..now♡♡♡♡♡
😂😂😂

You've got to be pretty serious into fishkeeping to pay $1000 for a bottom dweller... I think every tank should have at least 1 pleco though. 😄
Hahaha yes, very true!!
that's crazy!!! 1k for green phantoms. sorry you guys have to spend so much over there.
Boa noite !! sou brasileiro e gostaria de trocar algumas experiencias com aquaristas ai da sua região
OMG - A grand a Pleco. Down Under Price Upper!
Yep 😬😬
