Thanks, I respect the fish I catch so utilizing as much of it gives me a good feeling..... Being in Alaska you have several species we don't have here and coming there to fish is on my bucket list..... Thanks
Man talk about finger lickin good LOL 😜😜😜😜.... Mama and I just got back from Port Aransas sand we see this video now we're super hungry again LOL that looks like a great recipe and also a great tip to use scrunched up foil👍👍👍 you definitely have bluegill filleting down my friend it was very satisfying watching you cut those fish up👍👍👍👍
That foil helps big time keeping the fish crunchy.... Napkins take the crunch quickly soaking the fish in the oil.....I always look for new was that's better and or faster to fillet..... These things sure are great on a plate brother.... Bet y'all had fun in Port A.... Thanks
I just caught a good mess of redear and goggle eye this morning and I'm getting ready to clean them. I'm going to fry them up tomorrow for me and my 71 yr. old Mother who Loves to eat fish. I've watched your video 2 times now and I think I got it. I can fillet a mess of bass with my electric fillet knife very quick, but with these pan size critters it's a bit more challenging. Thanks so much for the video!
Tasty for sure..... I bought the knife from a small store in Fort Worth TX, don't remember the name but I'll get you the brand the knife is later today..... Thanks
Excellent video sir! Thank you for sharing those years of experience. I’ve been catching, cooking, & cleaning Bream & Crappie for too long to mention and I’m learning new tools to pass on. We’ve never seen the cross cutting or the foil trick👍🏼
SK, this was worth the wait!!!! The use of the tin-foil to drain the grease was something I am going to copy next time I fry some fish. Those scored slabs had to be as good as they looked. Thanks buddy.
There you go SK that is some mighty fine eatin' right there I guarantee. I use a wire rack to drain but I like your crinkled foil method. Looking forward to the blackened fillet method. 👍👍
I've been looking for the wire rack and can't find'um.....I use this foil to season when I fry filleted fish after taking them out of the oil and discovered it's a great way to drain the fish at the same time..... It was more fun than I was thinking doing this cooking vid so there will be more coming..... Thanks brother.....
SK you got me hungry I’ve been chasing them big bluegill for over 30 years and I’ve never seen the cross cut and aluminum foil trick I will try that next time and thank you for making this video for those that don’t know about the brim Fishing . That’s what we need to do brother passed it on keep the tradition going very good video SK thank you
Good afternoon Brother, brings me back to my younger days when me and my cousins would catch those big Shellcrackers and Bluegills, in the Everglades National Park, down in Florida, you are a great fisherman as well my Brother, looks great wish i could have some with you. God Bless and Be Safe my Brother
Oooh that sizzle tho!! Plenty ready! Them gills are pretty swimming in that grease! It’s gotta be cast iron! Never crowd fish in the pan! I love the tip of the tin foil! I’m ready to eat! Mmm..now I’m craving gills and/or grits and cornbread with slaw!!
Man you brought back good memories my family ate alot off fish every Saturday evening when we got back and cleaned them. The garbage was all fish bones after eight people finished eating. Thank you👍
Looking good SK. I got the whole picture, I watched you catch em, I watched you prepare and cook em, PRICELESS. I never scored em, but I will go under the skin with a sharp fillet knife and remove scales and skin at the same time. The meal never falls off because there's no skin to puff up and knock it off. Keep the film rolling 🎥!!!
Even when I fillet with an electric knife on crappie, I go back and get those two extra chunks of meat left when done wrong. Just like going for the cheek meat on bigger fish. loved the video, well done Sir
GREAT VID SK!!! MADE ME HUNGRY AS I USED TO DO THIS A LOT! IT'S TIME TO CATCH ME SOME MORE BLUEGILLS! THEY ARE THE SWEETEST TASTING FISH I THINK! THANKS!
Brother SK now this is what I been waiting on! Nothing to it but to do it. Brother I tell you I cut my fish clear down to the tail. The reason why is because that part that's difficult to clean around the bone area. You can get to it much easier plus they fry better then I score mine exactly like yours. Great video brother keep them coming. Forgot to mention you didn't have that sweet onion lol
I'll be doing that one coming soon and it's another great way to fo fish.... that cut almost in half cooks up good..... Thanks for the great feedback .....
We need to invent SMELLOVISION....LOL. as always excellent video. I can't wait to take my boat out and get my jokers on the line, been down due to the Corona restrictions. 👍😎
Your opinion is right on the tater chips. I love the crispy tail. Of course I'm from the "old school". I filet most, but on the gills, I like them full. Good video
You make that look easy and tasty. Reminds me of catching from our pond but never enjoyed eating those bluegill, just to many bones for my liking. Great video as always SK!
Man it was a good thing I watched this over lunch when. Them some well fried fish vittles there.. mmm I think I go to get some of that seasoned fry and give it a try. Hey see them is the SK cooking secrets I have been waiting to see!!! Thank you sir!🤗👍👍👍

Good tips on how scoring them to allow the seasoning to get in. I ain’t ever cleaned fish in the house, though. My wife wouldn’t allow it! 😂
Seasoned to the bone..... This is my home away from home so it's just me that I have to worry about.....LOL
Thanks
I have never eaten them whole like that. Would you freeze those or only freeze what has been fileted?

If I were to freeze them I wouldn't scour them until I was ready to cook them....
Thanks
wow..Looks very delicious food
Very delicious.... Thanks
Sk I do a hybrid of both. I scale them then fillet the skin gives a better taste. My wife won't eat them if I leave them whole.
I mostly do filets but do enjoy the taste of home every now and then....Thanks

This is the only way I will ever do them again. You get so much more off of them.

Live worms work good but I like using jigs under a cork......Thanks
Next time I'll keep my gills,👍🏼
Great table fair......Thanks
SK great vid. On your setup did you just have a jig and cork? Did you have s bobber stop in between the jig and cork?
Just a jig and cigar float.... It's not a slip float..... Thanks
