- In this video I use up some Teal resin that was left over from the Oak sleeper table I recently made - • Recycling Woodturning ... I cast it with a piece of Mallee burl and made a cute little hollow form..

Such a beautiful combination of the colours of wood and acrylic. That blue is a perfect contrast to the stunning natural "waves" of the wood. And you couldn't have chosen a better design for its mixture.

That's my favourite wood-resin combination, the desert island in a tropical sea, near but not quite complementary colours. Always works and I think it's largely because of the image it evokes. Lovely edge on the wood. Mind you, I have seen many teal in my birdwatching career but never one this colour - I'd call it kingfisher.

Love the burl and the epoxy you chose, but think you missed a mark, I think this would have been the perfect size for a magnificent coffee/tea mug - imagine drinking your morning coffee/tea from this, every day.

Hi Andy. "COBWEBS !!" it is interesting watching you carve out the interior of a piece. With not being able to see inside, I suppose you need to know your craft and feel your way into the space, or do you follow the contour of the outer side of the piece to know how deep to carve within ?? It's a really pretty piece.
Thanks .. You kind of get a feel for it but sometimes use callipers to check the wall thickness

Thankyou .. I used a mineral oil for the wood , the resin is just sanded and buffed
