that last try was a beauty
100%
That last try made me happy. Big fellas running away like that. I grew up in Cronulla Sutherland, but am now living in the UK. I am still waiting on a call from my Jersey Flegg trials with Cronulla. Happy to come back if needed. But at 57 years old , it's looking like I've been overlooked. 😄
That sin bin on Grant was ridiculous 😂
The ref has to follow the letter of the law.
Now I'm a non Aussie (but a Dolphins fan). Clearly they are clamping down on contact to the legs during the motion of kicking. And aslong as the officials are consistent in the cards, then I'm happy.
I agree with the clamp down but they definitely need to look at it. Instead of “any contact with the kickers legs” it should just be like certain amount of contact and how hard you impacted them. Cos that definitely wasn’t worth a sin bin
Apology on Monday incoming
@@joshotoole117there should be discretion.
That try by Talakai plus the commentary from Ginane was magic
That run by mulitalo for that last try was 🔥
The pass was incredible under pressure too
Yep, if you watch it, he caught the ball, stood there for a millisecond and since nobody grabbed him, he took off.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall at the Storm video session - 1. why a short kick with 1 pt down and 6 mins to go, and 2. if you do that, you might want to consider tackling the guy who catches the ball.
Who else changed their tip when they heard Nicho Hynes was out 😭😭😭😭
Me! And I’ve had a perfect round and a sharks fan lol getting the W is more important
😂😂
Yep
I forgot to but I guess I got lucky
Bro, just stop betting. Every week I see you in the comments talking about losing
good game, but the ref went crazy with the bin
I said last week in a comment, I am from WA can’t stand AFL love the NRL. A game like this you can see why. Brilliant
As a longtime NRL fan, this sport is turning into garbage.
It's the only sport I know of that's never consistent with the rules of the game.
@@Altered-Beastluckily you’ve got rugby you can turn to. As you think it’s garbage then you obviously didn’t see this game. It was exciting, and I don’t care about either of these teams.
Keep enjoying. I like AFL, but league is number 1 for mine.
We Luv Rugba league ....spread the word my friend 👍
Not a Sharks fan but I’m VERY VERY happy for them. Gotta love an underdog
These sharks looking niceeee. They look like true contenders for the premiership
A month ago I had them down as pretenders. Now I say they are the real deal.
especially beating Melbourne without Hynes
Its early mate, finals footy is not played mid season, Sharks are known to drop off before/during top 8.
@LUAPIGNAR Nah they won't choke especially this season were they're been on a role
With the draw they have , they should do. Only have 6 games against the top 7 sides, whereas all the others have 8, 9, or 10. Cronulla koalas
Really proud of my boys. Great resilience in defense. Splendid performance from Atkinson . Up Up Cronulla 💙🦈
You know you have a team of quality when you go to Melbourne and beat them when they play well. Great contest tonight with a pearla of a last try
Seeing that sin bin now bro what was the ref thinking that’s not a sin bin in the least and I’m not a storm fan
Basically we are now touch footy. Beyond a joke and I am not storm supporter but they were robbed blind
And all of you are gonna hate me for this, but no one is mentioning the gender. Bunker in this and Friday Manly match have made worst decisions you'll ever see
don’t go for the kickers legs simple
penalty only
@@Lourens551melbourne were robbed from that one call
Did you watch the whole game
Bro please
Cronulla with the BeastMode
What a win that was
2016 all over again
Sharks wouldve lost if Nico was playing, cant go missing if you drop out of the team 😂.
I could watch that Talakai try 500 times and I could watch 500 more
I hope Fitz turns out to be a great coach like a Tim Sheens, Bennett or Bellamy type.
🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈
Short kick off was about 6 mins too early. Should have gone deep.
Thanks Cronulla
Now this looks like a Grand Final 💙🖤 What a good performance by both teams...💯
A big Congratulations 🎊 👏 to Daniel Atkinson for stepping up in the absence of Nicholas Hynes. 😎
Harry Grant needs some discipline....He gave away a couple of penalties that let Sharks take advantage of....🤦🤦🤦
Definitely not Captain material
Weldone Sharks
What the commontater calls a sumptuous pass, I call forward.
Or a "lovely ball/pass".
Amazing game
Why do the short drop out? Still had time left to get at least 1 or 2 set plays, maybe 3?
AWESOME game.. Both are definitely for the 8 .. Sharks are
My Smokie for a playoff
Up up Cronulla! 🦈🦈🦈
1:50 lol rugby league will turn into touch footy soon
Cronulla looked like Melbourne this game.
Harry Grant's sin bin was unnecessary; probably was the difference in the match
I should have stayed up to watch the full match live. 👍👍
Mulitalooo! 👑👑
“NOW THE PASS TO TALAKAI GOOD BYE!!!”
FS: I'm all for "The ref is right once the whistle is blown" but the actual officiation has to use common sense: Grant touching the leg of the kicker? Fair play give a penalty if the rule is protection and precedent. If that is the rule to protect the kicker it's a good rule. But touching and sin-binning PLUS penalty that impacts the game state with undue balance? FO... that's not common sense and is in disrepute of the spirit of the game and rules.
Again I support the refs even if they get it wrong but common sense on that kind of decision not "letter of the law" which is inhuman and insensible really ain't going to help give spectators confidence in the process and benefit of the doubt to the refs when it's 50 50 decision when it's 50 50 interpretation and when it's split second definitive arbitration to move the game forwards right or wrong where all those apply all the time to refs on the field and 9 times out of 10 do a dang fine job that someone has to do to keep the game alive and flowing...
The same stupidity in football for the handball in the box when the ball ricochets randomly touches an arm and penalty is awarded or point blank blasted at the player's arm at 100mph... C'mon professional bodies use your brains for common sense not legal or technical nonsense that's insensible.
Otherwise utterly brilliant match to the wire by two teams playing awesome footie and a joy to watch week-in-out.
Iro clearly didn't play at the ball that the ref awarded another set of 6 which led to a Melbourne try. Get over it, Son.
The refs have been making the same call all year against everyone. By now coaches should have come up with a new play for it. I heard one commentator saying some coaches have instructed them to go from the side with distance to avoid anything like this after the Warriors penalty earlier in the season.
@@unluckytourist In this case, if you watch the player (Grants) by the kicker who's leg after kicking comes DOWN and into Grant...
I mean the rule is clear: Obstructing the kicker via contact late = Penalty. If the contact is heavy then sin-bin if it's incidental then just Penalty.
How hard is that for common sense to prevail. Being wrong, getting it wrong is fine in my book: It's error and natural but this is a mistake: It's avoidable because it's so simple and and sanity should prevail over technicality.
It clearly wasn’t he didn’t even potentially mean to hit his legs referees a joke but good win sharks they deserve it
All those; I am no Storm fan BS 😂
Ridiculous sin bin
It was a big ask for the Storm without their main stike weapons but still happy with those who were chosen..hard game to watch but well done Sharks..
Maybe, but the Sharks were without their 6 and 7 (Trindall and Hynes) and major strike forwards in Finacune and Hunt, so it's a bit rich to think that Storm were at a major disadvantage.
That should take some of the pressure off the sharks to "prove" against a top side.
On ya sharks , job well done
Coates was not here to save the game this time.
Yeah Cronulla
Well done sharks.
Every game has to have a contentious, controversial call, its mandatory now.
Sin bin was a joke and Melbourne usual don't get treated like that
Power sharky
That ridiculous penalty on Harry ended up costing Storm the game!
They lost by 7 points, only 6 were conceded while he was in the bin. Storm also scored of the scrum feed that was incorrectly given to them when the ball came off Iro and went out and he not only didn't play at it, he never even saw it.
The "man with multiple portfolios" Scomo (remember him) will be pleased. Don't underestimate the power of prayer!
2016 Sharks 🦈
Sharks did a storm last minute 😳
Gooooooooo sharks ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Fatty couldn’t of said it better regarding the officials on Thursday “WE ARE FINISHED”
That sin bin was absolute BS! Sack that ref!
Where's Coates??. Could've been better if he was r there..😕
Injured
Well according to the reporter responsible for the match review on the NRL website he made a vital play in the second half - funny that as he was not in the team because of an injury.
The refs have to define the rules to make it a universal ruling, as it stands each ref judges certain infringements according to his/her personal perspective...its a variable thats sorta become the elephant in the corner
At this point why try to charge down
I understand the penalty, but getting put in the sin bin was an absolute joke!
Great game smeared by the BIN CHICKEN REFEREE!
Not great by reffs again. Like harry gets held up alot tho?
It was only a matter of time till Storm's milked wins got exposed. Don't see them contending genuinely.
Harry Grant ran far right what else could he do? I am glad they are being told to stop the late hits but come on
i mean far left which was our right
No way you will go GF, it will be panthers or roos
Storms deserve the loss. 😅
UP THE SHARKS WE GONE WIN THE PREMIERSHIP THIS YEAR NO CAP
Reh🐴🏆🤫
You should rewatch the last 20mins of last years GF
Molitalo is having a massive season so far. Wonder what his dally m points are
Shame on the storms😂😂😂
😢
Ref won the sharks the game.
Bruh you got 60 tackles in a row just to get over our line. 😂
That's what everyone from the losing team says 🤣 get over it, u win some you lose some, and no I'm not a Cronulla fan
Fans gotta justify the loss to themselves by saying they lost from the refs and not their own team performance
That’s got to the the worst sin binning I can remember. And I am not a storm fan. That’s an absolutely ridiculous call.
BS penalty on Grant
Dolphins calls were BS
Broncos calls were BS
Storm calls were BS
What was the common denominator??
The BS referees
Are the referees match fixing ?
ehe
😢😔🤬🤬🤬🤬😭😭😭😭⚡️
That sin bin was ridiculpus. Exactly why I've practically stopped following the game. It looks like a dive in soccer. Harden up
Another game ruined by the referees
Rugby League going the same way as Soccer. No contact sport...... pathetic. All hail RFU.....
Game was rigged for the sharks
Yeah having all that possession in the Sharks 20 and still couldn’t score, yeah rigged big time
Melbourne got schooled by a rookie 5/8
@@russell3436A rookie who's gonna take the NRL by storm😉
Looking forward to more rigged games. In fact, I expect every game to be rigged in our favour from now onwards like all our past games were rigged. Sharks should win every game from now to the end of time. Brilliant.
Rigged?
Look I don’t agree with the send off and I’m a Sharks fan.
Melbourne had 60 tackles just to get over the line in the second half 😂
There was a lot that went the storms way besides that one send off. Though I agree it was a penalty.
Sharks were the better team today man. Melbourne are great though.
@@astroanthobbies3801 The bunker sees the same video the audience and fans at the game see and not one angle showed Tuku Hau Tapuha ground the ball yet it was ruled a try and the first lot of video footage showed Kaufusi bobbled the ball before grounding
Possibly the worst sin bin of all time
Free Palestine
I aint no storm fan but wat a BS call on harry grant 🙅♂️🤦♂️
How on earth was the Oregon Kaufusi "try" awarded. He loses control of the ball & it was never grounded.
Watch it again bro
Slammed it down and then popped out
There was no definitive angle to show him grounding the ball, to possibly change the original on field refs decision of no try.
If league wasn’t dead after the “high shot” on turbo Thursday night, it definitely is after Harry’s horrific challenge. I mean who knows if that bloke will ever walk again. League is a joke.
Awful commentator. Truly cringe.
Worst sin bin in history. Basically don’t even bother putting kick pressure on halfs anymore you’ll just risk being sent to the bin! It’s all fun and games now until your team plays Penrith or Broncos & you have Cleary or Reynolds kicking your team to death and you’ll be begging for your forwards to put pressure on them but forget it
Sharks will choke come play offs you watch.
