I have found that to attain any type of musical sounds from this pedal when using a clean fender amp, you have to bump the mids with a tube screamer type pedal. In this scenario, only then does this pedal become awesome.
Sound advice. I'm still looking for ways to find good use for fuzz (Band of Gipsies FF or EH Fuzz Pi/tone wicker in a bluesrock setting ... having a Fender Hotrod Deville 212. So I have two fuzz pedals that should do the trick, I'm not buying another one before I get it. Another thing I often read about fuzz is the problem of getting into the mix in a live setting. I'm used to rock'n roll sounds, but want a fuzz-based new sound that works in a live setting. Anyone who can give me some advice without flaming? I have an OD7 Maxon that I don't use a lot too. That or the drive channel in front of the fuzz pedal? Just shooting ideas here. Having the pedals is one thing, turning the knobs to make the amp shine is another one. If buying a second-hand Marshall is easier than making fuzz work on a Fender HR Deville, please tell me. But I like the sheer power of that amp.
Joe Capizzi That is essentially destroying the original sound that this pedal was intended to make. Its the kind of Fuzz that you can only use sparingly, that has a very unique and strange sound. The scoop is all part of it, it helps bring out the lower and higher octaves and ring mod sounds. Ive had several super fuzz clones and theyre certainly not used friendly, nor are they versatile, but only a super fuzz will get you that sound
Peter Ponjaert With the Fuzz Face a transparent OD before after can help cut through the mix. Just don't use much(or any) gain. Wah Wah is good for a Fuzz Face as well, but the Tone Wicker is a bit different. I like stacking for lead tones, sometimes going with a higher gain on an OD/distortion pedal and less fain on the fuzz pedal. Or maybe try a treble booster after fuzz.
I see this pedal has the germanium option as well as the silicon and the diode-less only option with the 1,2 & 3 toggle switch set to wherever you want it. I was looking for a fuzz pedal that had some good tonal options from Earthquaker and I was wondering if I can get just fuzz tones only with the germanium side as well as the silicon side and just know that if I ever wanted the whole octave up sound blended in I could just switch the toggle to diode-less. Is that the case or do all 3 switch modes have the whole octave up tone setting going on? If so that's fine, I'll just look at one of there other pedals instead. Thanks for any feedback.
Beware of how aggressive this pedal is. I played it with 3 different guitars into 3 different amps (9 different combinations) and I never, ever got it to sound musical. It was between this and the Suhr Rufus ReLoaded and the Rufus always won! And it doesn't always have to have the octave effect on. Please don't berate me, just a word to the wise if you are thinking about this pedal.
+Wall OfNoise He probably just means it's really easy for this pedal to sound abrasive or mostly like break up rather than tone. I just got this pedal not too long ago and it's not my favorite fuzz but it has a voicing that tends to favor distorting quickly. It's just the nature of pedals that have an analog octave up.
Totally correct. I ended up selling mine, it' just so abrasive and out of control too easily. Great for leads, but not versatile. I went with the Spires instead
So many things can fuck with a fuzz, especially germanium fuzz, test it with single coils, no other pedals in the way, at a not to hot, not to cold temperature and fuck with your volume on your guitar and amp a lot till it behaves under heavy distortion. Most of the fun of germanium fuzz is the fight to dial it in.
Killer Jeff Beck fusion sort of fuzz, got to learn to use it. Watch Mike hermans demo, very cool. Andy is a good player but yeah everyone who plays w fingers looks dork except for Jeff. I find it distracting and rather pointless having finesse and touch w a pick is so much more dynamic. Hate the finger picking yada.
Love that Groundhogs song. Great pick!
As soon as I heard the riff I though...Groundhogs...classic!
A totally underappreciated and little known band.
Matt Bates Agreed!
great demo , your presentation and laid back presentation is. wonderful
One of my fav pedals.
Dang, that was a cool intro ! Nice playing , ANDY!
Loving the tone voicing on this one
Andy, you are amazing.
Go Andy! 🤘
Great demo, Thanks!
Awesome with the P-90'd Reverend!!!! :)
Nothing but face melters from The Man Andy.
Maybe if I buy all these pedals I will sound like Andy. Well it's this or the terminal fuzz.
what song is at 3:35?
CHERRY RED
1,3,2 I love it
I bet that cleaner octave setting would stack well with the Way Huge Saucy Box.
Which song is this from the beginning?

+T- Hawk I only use it for solos or basic power chords. It is a little out of control though.
@T- Hawk
Protip: Get a better amp. ;)

I think eqd has toned down their dirt pedals.
The Fuzz Master from Ace Tone was essentially a Super Fuzz clone right?
Lieutenant Dude same family yeah
Who will save the world....The Mighty Groundhogs
ua-cam.com/video/fpDAYpG600A/v-deo.html first song , the intro
Well, ratz! There went some more of my hardtocomebuyca$h
