Very interesting subject worth keeping it talked about again and again. It reminds me of Dr Seignalet's book "l'alimentation ou la troisième médecine" published in 1996 already! Exactly what is preconised nowadays. Stunningly precursor in a time where the information network was not what it is now. Also stunningly honest since dr Seignalet warned about the limitations of his diet, he underlined the diseases his diet won't cure. At the time a bit revolutionary in the medical sanhedrin since only terminal patients were sent to him plus suddenly lots of his conservative colleagues ceased to talk to him, considering him like a charlatan and a lunatic. Rip dr Seignalet, nobody's a prophet in his own country...

Eat your vegetables folks! Legumes and meat are good too. Also not all fruit is created equal - strawberries, banana, blueberry and lemons are a lot healthier than mango or oranges which are very high in sugar and limited in micro nutrients. Nobody gets fat eating plain strawberries all day. They are mostly fiber. I really hated lumping fruits as all equal.

@@JLilliquist True Fruits and vegetables are vastly different in their carb, nutrient, fiber and oil content. Even the types of carbs (sugars) are vastly different. Potatoes for example are worse than pure table sugar for people with diabetes. Strawberries you mentioned have a compound that blocks the absorption of some of it's sugars so even what you see in the lab results isn't so accurate. One reason they are Keto friendly.

My husband recently went to an old Polish bakery for some Ryebread. There had to be about eight people in the bakery and they all had huge boxes of donuts and no one had bought bread. By the way, they were all overweight. I have been cooking from scratch since 14 years old when my parents taught me how to put out old-fashioned meals that were full of vegetables and not just meat. I’m still cooking that way, and I’m in my 70s. Fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, are my go to foods before anything else. Thanks for listening.

That would be a big mistake in my opinion and in the opinion of many other "experts" I follow. This diet will make you sick or keep you sick for several reasons, including the recommendation to eat grains and the suggestion to go "low fat." I suspect the My Plate protocol is too lenient with respect to fruit consumption and it's likely too restrictive in protein consumption. The My Plate strategy is a variation of the old food pyramid that is responsible for making us sick and placing Americans into the metabolically most unhealthy population in the world.

Find a way of eating that provides energy, good digestion and sleep. While weight loss is helpful, dieting may leave you depleted of essential nutrients and minerals. @@stanj7223 I wouldn't say we all are. From the research I have seen, in order for the intolerance to be expressed, there must be the presence of gluten, the gene, and damage to the microbiota. If all 3 things are not present, then the intolerance/disease will not manifest. Damage to the microbiota is usually what sets the intolerance off in people these days. The damage can come from eating a low fibre diet since childhood, antibiotics, lack of exercise and even psychological problems and trauma can cause negative alterations in the gut microbiota independent of diet. Health is very complex, and so a holistic view on the health of the organism is required. Unfortunately these days people are looking for quick relief and comfort, rather than seeking understanding and looking at the organism and life as a whole. Most turn to elimination and fad diets, supplements and all kinds of pseudo-science.

I had to quit watching as soon as you mentioned “my plate”. There is no such thing as an essential carbohydrate. After years of living with type two diabetes and being told that I “needed carbs”, I finally began doing my own research, realized that I suffer from hyperinsulinemia (why has no doctor or diabetes specialist told me this?) and need to treat carbohydrates as though I am allergic to them. In doing so, I have been able to lower my blood sugar from an A1c of 8.2 to a 5.6. I have also lost over 70 pounds, and as long as I avoid carbs I have significantly less joint pain and inflammation. I have also been able to drop all of my diabetes medications except metformin and I’m hoping that will go with my next doctors appointment. My plate plate is not a be-all end-all for everyone and to basically tell everyone to follow the standard American diet is doing a disservice.

As someone who was dealing so much with weight loss and food addiction I rly found out something that might or might not work for u guys ! ^^ that is to have less salt , spices and carb ! It really make a difference I believe! ^^ what worked for me is just a little bit of salt on my protein and fat rich meal along with a cup of strong black tea or green tea! I love having it with black tea or green tea! What worked for me in weight loss would be "go for that satisfy you , feel ups you but don't have much taste" like if u go for bland black tea or green tea this is actually bitter and helps with sodium! For me ^^ keeps me fuller! Also the fat and protein rich meal with so little salt helps so much! I dun get hungry just after the meal my digestion is smoother than ever! And I actually didn't go for taste instead went for what feels me up such as fat , protein and that bitter tea! ^^ and felt much better overall! My skin is shining , and all acne has gone! Also the behaviour of mine has been a lot polite I personally believe so! ^^

Could be but another explanation is that the servings of these junk "foods" are much smaller in Japan then they are in America.

Youth needs to know that the best time to find an "exercise" ROUTINE is when they are young teens! The motivation is there, at least it should be, there's time to find something that works for your body and later in life, they'll find it sticks with you. What's learned about your own body at a younger age helps you with the aging process and how the body changes. We have a better handle on what works for us and what doesn't. It's easier if you have to change up.
You have the insight on what was working and what may not be working at an older age. Intermittent sports are good but establishing a "routine" you do day in and day out for at least 7, 8 years has the most dramatic effect on body and especially, mind.

As with a higher autoimmune level, any interaction with a virus raises it. And a vaccine is a neutralized portion either it’s a spike protein or a full virus that’s neutralized. If it’s just the Covid immunity it could mean that it’s there so you are fine for a few more months. If you get exposed to it your immunity kicks in. Also, what’s to say that you aren’t one of those blood types that gets Covid but with minimal symptoms
