HOUSE TOUR | A Full Pandemic Renovation of a Picturesque Family Residence in Maryland

- This week @DesignerHomeTours we are touring the home of the CEO and Founder of @Framebridge, Susan Tynan. Susan hired Zoe Feldman, the acclaimed Washington, D.C.-based interior designer to re-image her family home in Maryland. The residence boasts custom-curated gallery walls utilizing artwork collected from her travels and sketches her children had made, punchy bursts of color (like a bright pink stairwell!), and layered textural elements throughout the house. Other noteworthy highlights include the addition of a Brooklyn brownstone style vintage mantel in the living room and custom cabinetry throughout the kitchen and dining rooms to utilize storage. The dining room also makes a case for wallpapering your ceiling.
This house is a masterclass in how to incorporate color in certain spaces (even if the house still feels light, airy, and full of organic elements). You’ll see how an interior designer brings specific ideas to life in a project; such as patterned wallpaper in powder rooms, colored sinks, and framing art to hang in interesting places.

Finally someone is brave enough to bring back some colours to the interior. We had been suffocated by the black and white or simply neutral colour everywhere for a lengthy period of time. Not to forget good colour combination can bring calmness to the room also. Coloured room is fun, playful and personalised your style.
I just love the way the black windows and doors pop…
US TOO!! the pop and contrast is beautiful.
Fabulous home. Love the children's artwork .thanks for sharing 👍🥰
This home is so beautiful, but extremely livable as well! I appreciate the many helpful decorating/design tips presented throughout the tour! Thank you for sharing! 😊
Zoe's skill is unmatched, and we wanted to share it with you all! That's lovely to hear, and we're glad you enjoyed the video!!
Gorgeous. So much personality and sophistication. Taking risks really pays off when you find such a talented designer
I absolutely love the family room❤❤❤
My favorite is the dining room. Gorgeous wallpaper and very moody…
I have never seen a more egregious color than that in the entry, especially as you look from there into the gray dining room.
Очень впечатляет👍
Много интересных решений,
красивая цветовая гамма🍀
Absolutely stunning and livable!
“Livable” is just the word! Such a relaxing and welcoming home.
I enjoy the contrast of warm, embracing spaces with light, open spaces. The methods of displaying art -- on a mirror, between two shelves of a built-in, on a bathroom shelf -- are intriguing. I feel that animal prints are becoming overexposed.
I have been following this designer on IG. It's so good to see a video. Her work is stunning
Very beautiful and artsy ! There is enough neutral pieces to counter balance all the art Very elegant yet a bit playful here and there.
Love It !!
I love the family spaces
I don't like the entry and the dining
Thanks for sharing, very interesting
Wow! Beautiful house
Can’t agree more! What was your favorite part??
“Engaged” hahahaah
Lovely home, good job!
I like everything except the bathroom.
I prefer this home tours when they are not done by a professional interior designer, I like when they are regular people
Thanks for your tour! Where did you purchase the burlwood pieces throughout the house?
WARNING: Do NOT play a drinking game for every time she says "engage!"
LOL
The house is lovely, but it’s always amazing to me when a designer refers to both “child friendly” elements while ignoring all the white upholstered furniture. A leopard print rug to hide stains makes sense. Putting white chairs on it does not. Unless everything is slipcovered? And the homeowner really loves doing laundry? Or the fabric is all weather/wipeable? But she said “linen” and that seems a questionable choice for a room where potentially messy snacks are served.
The vegan leather bench cushion makes sense. (I’m not a fan of benches; chairs are easier to manage.) The throw pillows make no sense; they must just be for staging. Who lives with small children and puts pillows where they eat? I’m way too lazy to deal with that!
😉
The house is pretty! Very pretty! I wish we’d seen the kitchen.
I notice that they rarely share the kitchen in so many house tours. That's the main part I'm interested in.
There is too much of a disconnect between the rooms, but I did like the living room though: stylish, light, and not too precious.
❤❤❤
OMG i swear she said (Engage) 500 times.😂
Please do videos not every month but week thanks a lot)
So glad you want more content from us! We'll try our best to keep up!!
Love the leopard rug! Where can it be purchased please?
Hi Marsha! Here you go! app.onsidedoor.com/collections/44526
Where is the dragon wallpaper from?
Hi there! We will ask Zoe where this beautiful wallpaper is from, but in the meantime, you can shop similar styles here: shrsl.com/3hhtc . Enjoy!
I freaking LOVE the design. I now HATE the word "engaged". It was used too often and felt forced and unnatural.
I had the same reaction - it felt like a misapplied word with no practical meaning.
The design is amazing. The use of the word engaged is odd and pretentious. Same as when people say they “sourced” something like a rug but they really mean they bought it. 🙄
But YES, the design is amazing.
Where is the runner from?
Hi Stacy! We'll ask Zoe and let you know. In the meantime, here is a link to shop similar products showcased in the episode: bit.ly/zoefeldman
so generic, like many other contemporary designed homes, no personality. all current home decor homes look exactly like this.
🤮
