You may notice that the TE20 has a different bridge from the TE62. When the saddles are perfectly adjusted for intonation in the TE20 the distance from the 1st string saddle to the centre of the 1st string pole piece in the bridge pickup is 34mm. At the 6th string it is 48mm. The TE62 is only 23mm when measured similarly at the 1st string and 42mm at the 6th string This means that the bridge saddles are closer to the pickup and that if the same pickup was installed in both guitars the TE 62 will obviously have more treble response.
Neck thickness of TE62 is at first fret (measured on top of the strings) 25mm and 22mm on TE20. At 6th fret TE62 measures 26mm and 22.5mm on the TE20. At 12th fret TE62 measures 26.5mm and 23mm for the TE20.
With the TE62 the width of the fretboard at the nut is 42mm and 55mm at the 21st fret. The TE20 at the nut is 42mm and 56mm at the 21st fret.
The TE62 has a D shape profile which means that the sides of the neck are straighter before tapering towards the middle. the TE20 is described as modern C which means that the sides of the neck taper more quickly towards the middle. Imagine a letter C with the top and bottom curves cut off. I write this for someone planning a guitar with little knowledge of what to expect, perhaps a beginner.
For anyone considering fitting a 4 way Oak Grigsby, be advised that the cavity is too shallow in the TE20 to accommodate this without routing. Overall depth of the body is 41mm. The TE62 body is 43.5mm and is already routed and will accept an Oak Grigsby 4 way switch, especially if the lugs are bent flatter.
Both guitars have Audio Taper pots. Left hand models do NOT come with reverse taper pots and may come with the pots wired so they work in reverse! Anticlockwise to increase volume.
I hope this is more informative than words like fat, chunky, thin and slim.

These are also excellent guitars to mod. Like you said you can't expect perfection but these play exceptionally great. Awesome video and review!

I've got the te-52, it's really heavy but the neck is so comfortable to play

I've got the TE53-KR Keith Richards Tribute and that weighs a ridiculous 10lbs ! Came with sharp frets...as did my ST62-MN but thankfully that was only 7lbs. I've discovered I really like the 12" radius necks. With Harley Benton it's been my experience as is it with all who purchase from them it's hit or miss. You truly get wa you pay for...IF you're lucky.

I felt the te-62 had a bit more presence. I have the cheaper onr and it is pretty nice though, bit O think sonically the frequency range of the 62 is superior as well as the finish and the bridge as well

@rayfranchi1507 me too, i preferred the cheapee, specially on the bridge. TE-62 only a lil better with fuzz

I thought the te-62 had more definition and presence. But the cheaper one sounds good too.

The TE-20 Is the same price as the Harley Benton TE Kit, Is there any chance of you comparing this to the TE-20?
What do you get that is better than what is on the TE-20? Is the hardware better quality?
Are you better off with the TE-20 and mod that?

TE 20 sounded better to me, especially clean.

My only qualm about the Harley Bentons is the shipping. I live in Canada and last time I checked it would cost about $85 for one guitar. There would be customs duty too. But man, I could go with a bunch of their Teles and a nice semi-hollow body too.

Bought a te-20 fitted Wilkinson tuners and pick ups, still cheaper than the 62 and sounds way better

The TE-62 is based on the TE-20. The Delux series is a standard series with some upgrades.
But the big difference is in the quality of manufacture and, above all, in the quality control. Much more chance to have a bad TE-20, or at least with a rougher finish.
From what I can see, the Vintage series has the best HB guitars. Certainly this series is made in the same factories as Squier or in a factory doing a better job for the same price. HB doesn't build in Vietnam anymore because there were a lot of quality problems. Since 2014, HB has been manufacturing in China, Thailand and Indonesia.

Did the 62 have some buzzing between notes when playing clean? I like the much brighter sound of the guitar but it also seemed like the pickups were a bit noisy while not playing.

TE-20 more dull and muddy, but I think this is question of pick ups rather than anything else.

    nice comparison bro.
the 62 sounds much brighter and clearer and the 20 dull and lifeless.
always good to hear a nirvana riff as reference.

Very cheap pickups on te-20. Te-62 has roswells the same as on te-52. However, Te-62 sounds thin and unpleasantly bright in the bridge position due to poplar body. Ash in te-52 sounds much deeper and better (but is too heavy)
I had te-20, 52 and 62 models, so speaking from experience
