Ana, these are exactly what I want! I’m 76 years old and always wanted to try woodworking. Everyone laughed at me and I gave it up. Till now. I’m going to do this and they can just keep laughing. I’ll send a picture!

Great and easy build. I built 6 today and wife wants 6 more. We are in Eagle River AK. My wife is planting 12 dahlias in 5 gallon buckets. I made one exactly to plan. Then my wife asked if I could use cedar for the trim on top. Looks really good and we are leaving natural. We are setting these around the inside of the chain link fence to hopefully keep the moose out of them. I used construction adhesive instead of glue as that is what I had. Your $20 price estimate was right on for me. I was showing my wife the tapered planter when she saw the picture of these and said “that is what I want”. I did use my Ryobi narrow crown staple for attaching the cedar. Again great plans. Thanks much.

I have been watching you for years way before you built your house. Back when you made the tiny homes on wheels. You always do great things. I did make two chase lounge’s for my pool deck and here we are 2 maybe 3 years latter and we are still enjoying them in this humid state. Thanks for the plans and material list. I just started watching this video and planned to start building. I have to mention I have really bad anxiety so I finally found I project that I will start building with wood and maybe this will be my happy place in life. I’m on social security so it’s hard to buy things all together but I’ll gradually get there. Your channel inspired me thank you so much. You have me as a follower. Godbless and any donations of would or tools is greatly appreciated godbless

Get job, Ana. How creative you are, young lady. Helped start a garden at a local Greek restaurant, that has been added to by so many others. Hope to make these great little planters for the front door of the eatery. You are making retirement fun again. Thank you!

Ana, great instructional video and even better making the plans available. My wife asked me to make a couple of planter boxes, came across yours and the job was done in a weekend. I also used your plan to make a shorter rectangular shaped planter box...happy wife! Started with just a miter saw so it gave me an excuse to purchase a brad nailer. Now my wife is looking through your other project videos...hoping it means more new tools 😄.

Wow thank you for creating this. Finally a super simple method. I only have a circular saw. And no Brad gun so I will need to use screws I guess. I want to use a plastic bin to hold the dirt inside, because I have to be able to move these easily on and off a deck. Thank you again!

I just finished making one of these a couple of weekends ago. I used wood from a pallet. I ripped some of the boards down to make the 1x2's and 1x3's. I used four full width boards for the sides since the pallet boards are narrower than fence pieces. My trim pieces on top were a tad off, but with practice will get better. Thanks for doing you!

Ana, those are so cute. I only wish I had a big front porch to put them on. I guess I could just build one & put it on the corner by the rail that holds the porch roof up. You know like a lattes but only metal & us kids use to climb on them & always bent the S shape on the rails...... lol.... always got a butt whipping from grandpa for bending up the railings that held the roof up... I miss those days.
Thanks for the wonderful instructions of how to build plant boxes. Be safe & God bless us all durning this dang COVID-19 virus,

Just a suggestion, make the entire planter out of the cedar! It might last longer without the pine rotting. being weathered cedar might look good also that is a personal preference. You did a great job on them, and very cost efficient!
