- Here is a feature on the Tomei / Cusco WRX STi Time Attack car we did while it was in the US at the end of 2008 for DSPORT DVD#. This car is coming to Australia in May for the WORLD TIME ATTACK CHALLENGE to take on the best time attack cars in the world.

Just goes to show power is NOT everything. It 'only' has 444whp compared to some unlimited cars with 600+whp but with its HIGHLY tested and modified suspension/chasse/geometry setup it still is faster. Amazing how it manages to still stay WOT in the end chicane right before the last corner, most fast turbo awd's have to left off in that.

it's to cool down the radiator of the car at low speed in the pits.
there is not enough air to cool it at this speed so they add a fan that they uninstall as soon the car is ready to go.
on a normal car there are cooling fan but here for weight savings there is no one.
Pro trick: watch movies on instaflixxer. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
hmmm....how come we never see any top American tuner shops in time attack, I mean the ones that tune American cars like Fords & Vettes...is it cause their attention is only in the quarter mile?......sucks. Somebody represent America in an American car damn it!!

No home depot duct work.
No 'street' aero parts off eBay.
Everything built like it should be.

i go to the track to practise laps, but if i sat through a car n driver cornering at those speeds id piss my pants
Nah, theres an sti that goes 0-60 in 1.9 second's and the people who made that make a impreza called the ESX

true, power isnt everything but not having enough will lose the race. 444whp over an optimal powerband is enough for this car to compete in time attack; however, on a high-speed track its disadvantaged compared to high-power cars. even a superb build like this wouldnt be able to stand up to, say, chris rado's 1000hp tC or the 750whp Factor-X NSX on a track with long straightaways

@lejink i think nascar is more about endurance. utilizing drafting and repetitive perfect race lines for passing

my honda civic seems a lot faster than the wrx and that is with out vtec kicking in yet what a waste of money on the wrx
