My best advice for new players- just have fun. You going to sink, and lose all the time. Don't worry about that. Just try to enjoy actually playing, and don't take those losses so seriously. You'll find the game so much more fun!
just died after i sold my secret orbs i was practicing my sword lunge b4 i was gonna dc than i see a boat spawn outa nowhere it looked like it was gonna ram so i started shooting and i made like 3 shots the rest went on deck and made the guy get off his canons unintentional but still helpfull cuz i suck and than i went to his ship little did i realize i was in a bad spot bc he was infront and i was still parked and he had alr tooken control of the battle but his pvp did kinda suck but it was a 2v1 one person had a skeleton skin and the other guy was human so i rlly couldnt do anything plus i got atleast 16 hrs on the game im just glad they didnt attack me when i had my loot but so far the sword lunge seems fun and ive noticed iv kinda gotten better at pvp atleast close range ive sniped b4 but across the ship cuz it seems ez it was but until that close sniper pvp came i fumbled😭

I played the beta originally then stepped away from the game for like 6 years. I came back when I heard about the co op mode being added. I basically had to learn the game from scratch again, but the safer seas mode has been an absolute blast for me and a few friends new to the game. It's our go-to chill game currently. I've heard mixed sentiments toward the safer seas mode and whatever it does or doesn't represent, but I can definitely say I'm getting a lot of good times out of it
Ease yourself in and get comfy with the ship in PVE, then try doing hourglass, even if you lose over and over, it helps. You can beat nearly anyone in open seas when you are experienced in PVP.
@Rudysius This game got me through covid/2020!!! My son is getting into the game with his friends and I get invited to play with them because I am the “Least Lame Dad.” I can’t wait for more SoT in 2025!
Mickyyyyyyyyyyy - I'm most excited for the new upcoming changes for the hunters call. My tip for new players would me to practice their PVP against small skeleton ships as it'll teach you the angles and best ways to aim for peoppe 😃 ahoy pirates ! Great video!😊
I was a beta tester, played and maxed in all factions, was close to 100% complete in the game by 2022. I stopped playing because I thought it had gotten to easy and was more about giving the unskilled players more benefits, gold was too easy and alliances were ruining the game. I watch game play now and miss robbing and fighting but know if I picked up the game again I'd would be trash
Don't leave your ship anchored. Always check the horizon. Get decent supplies. Rotate for cannon angles. You are better than half the ships out there now.
imo one of the things that Rare should do is to bring back Adventures, or at the very least the old ones altogether in a single menu, playable at any moment, plus all their rewards
Personally I think it's better off adding content to the game rather than Time limited quests I love adventures as much as the next guy but it's not really fair on new players
I hear we're getting new hunter's call update in '25. I swear when i first played the sailor eye of reach had a slim bottle but i seems to me like a trick of the memory. Also i hope we get an easier way to guild sail as a fleet of 2 or more ships (ofc the server ship limit should be upped to 12 if this happened) i feel that would make joining/sailing in a guild much more fun and tactical -NickLost05 aka "Milkman"
i am most excited for the hunters call update i hope they add some voyages where you can track down and fight the kraken or megalodon. maybe you could get lucky and happen to hunt a shrouded ghost. - yerimlol
Very nicely done, wish I would have watched videos when I first started, instead of blindly diving in the deepend..hahaha.. I agree that PL is billed often as an end game goal, but should be more of a first benchmark you should strive for, then getting prestige 1 in all factions or switch to PVP and go for the Ghost and bones. The number of items to own and Accomedations to get is insane and will probably take me a life time to complete them. Thanks for what you do. tonedeaf3096
I did the opposite just went in blindly without watching any guides Tbh it was more fun this way because I got to explore sot on my own It's been 2 yrs since I last played I think But I think I'll dive back in again after new year's I'm excited
Fandeesson37 - I haven't played the game in about 2 years and I am itching to get back into it. I am excited to experience the new weapons and weapon mechanics the devs released recently!! I am also very excited to get back into hourglass pvp!:)
I dont think reaching Pirate Legend should be an "end game" type goal. It should be only the beginning. You should get it quickly to enjoy all its perks and then go do EVERYTHING ELSE.
Pirate legend is so easy to get now The average new player can reach it in about a week or 2 Locking the game behind progression is what keeps it from being stale
same, everyone wanted new content, allot of what we got was very good, but allot of it was unnecessarily complicated (captaincy), and I still don't feel any real reason to grind the game, and that would be fine if I could come across people n the actual game, and have fun interactions or whatever, but at the moment it just seems if anyone wants to fight, they go to hourglass, which defeats the entire feeling of sporadic encounters in the game.
New players should try to conquer their fear of PVP encounters and try and fight rather than run more often. PVE alone will eventually get boring and imo PVP is the best thing this game has to offer. Get good and you’ll have a lot of fun 🎉. A week of taking fights and you will probably be better than 90% of the player base
crazy how fast that year went
scary too

you flipped merchants and reapers. whenever you run merchants people will actively target you and when you run reapers most people leave you alone

BearDen192---I cant wait for Rare to add rewards for Guardians of Fortune up to level 500 just like they did with Servants of the Flame
I am the most excited about any new pvp content witch i hope is still coming to the game.

SuperStandard08 - I can't wait to be more than standard at pvp :(
Ashbeard error (which makes the game unplayable) in PS5 is UNFIXABLE, if you have a PS5 DO NOT waste your money on it.

So you prefer slowly walking loot to a representative?
Strange
