    for everyone who can't quit peeling or picking their nail polish due to stress or anxiety, just use a peel-off basecoat! they're made to be easily peeled off without damaging your nails at all. only downside, your mani won't last as long as with a different basecoat but that's obvious

    • @KelliMarissa
      @KelliMarissa  7 років тому +20

      +Felicia Korvo I think that's an AWESOME suggestion, Felicia!!!

      Felicia Korvo
      Yeah! You can just simply peel like no big deal!

      Great but I don't have any and glue take forever to dry💢(not very patient when with glue) especially when I have an hour to do them
      Edit: and my mani don't last long because one I don't even bother to put a top coat half the time and two I peel of my nail polish so I'm occupied with something whenever I want to hit someone at school but can't because my reputation is basically 'I'm nice,calm,quiet and don't break rules. I can get along with anybody and don't say no to anybody. I am also smart so I can help you when you need it and I am also an overachiever when I want to' this is what people literally think of me at school but the people that actually know me know that I do break rules but is too sneaky to get caught and I'm also lazy and don't like to overachieve and I like saying no. Some take advantage of the fact that most of my answers on a test or worksheet are correct and start to cheat off of me. That is my reputation but on the inside I'm a ticking time bomb. If you annoy me on the outside I will be calm but in the inside I am wishing that the person would some die or shut up. If you do something to make angry on the outside I would be calm and probably have a tick mark and on the inside I would be thinking 'ignore and don't hit him or her there will be consequences' so peeling off nail polish helps and with a peel off base coat it would come off easier but that would also increase the chance of me hitting someone. I'm actually very patient but when it comes to the popular/loud/annoying/rude kids I'm a ticking time bomb
      After thought of typing this: why is my wording so horrible? Why did I ramble in this? And why and I going to post this?
      P.S. I was not boasting that I'm smart it is just what people at school actually think about me(I have asked many people about what type of person vibe I give off at school). And people looking at my worksheets and test papers actually happened.

Facts, big, fancy pics involving nail matrix, plate, all the keratin being shoved around. Please wear nerdy glasses and have a laser pointer for it!

    Congrats on your award!!! I'll have to try Rejuvicote. I've tried most nail strengtheners but not this one. I wish I could keep my nail polish on but the top layer is so crumbly sometimes it just breaks off talking the polish with it. It helps to keep them polished so I do them a lot and touch up in between. Thanks for the ideas!! :)

    I know this is an old video, but I almost cried at the end. You have touched/will touch more people than you will EVER know. I share what I learned from you with everyone who admires my nails. Of course I refer them to your videos, but older people (like my Mom and her friends...the 75+ club)are sometimes technologically challenged. You're reaching them through their daughters. I can't wait to teach MY granddaughters how to do their nails. You are influencing GENERATIONS of women! Inadequate? Nothing is farther from the truth.
    Always...ALWAYS hold your head high, Queen. We love you.❤

    Congratulations, you are amazing I have learned so much from you. I have the bad habit of peeling my nailpolish when my nails chip. I knew it damaged my nails. Thanks to you my nail polish does not chip the next day like it used to . I promise you I will not peel my nailpolish anymore as a mater of fact ever since I have been following your advice I have not done it because my nailpolish lasts longer with no chips. Yay! Keep up the excellent work.

  • @Lori_in_CT

    How do you feel about using a nail cleanser before your base coat? I had a small size Formula X for Sephora Nail Cleanser and I found it made the polish last longer so I use that under my base coat. I use Ridge Filling from Essie. Would Rejuvacote negate the Cleanser?

    • @KelliMarissa
      @KelliMarissa  7 років тому +1

      +Laura Signor I have a feeling a nail cleanser is similar to nail dehydrator (basically just removing the oils and balancing the pH of your nail) so I don't think Rejuvacote should affect it at all :)

    Just wanted to thank you for your advice. My nails have always been quick to tear and my cuticles have been terrible. I took your advice and started using cuticle oil and moisturiser every night and switched to a glass nail file and my nails are so healthy looking now . Wish I had taken a phot before so I could do a before and after photo. My nail polish also stays on much longer because of this (although I really like my healthy nail look so rarely wear it now lol). Thanks! :-)

    You are great. I love the way you talk about nail polishes. I love watching you. I have a question, I am a type 2 diabetic on insulin. My nails are about the length of yours. The question is why do they peel in layers? I am very careful and moisturize several times a day. I wear gloves anytime I do dishes or clean. I take care of them. They grow but they peel which makes them weak. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you for your help. I have learned a lot from you.about nail care and polishes. Keep up the great job. Congrats on your You Tube award!!!! So Glad you finally did this video. I ordered the crystal file you mentioned in one of your other 101 video's. I had ordered a different one from somewhere online before & I hated it. Well it must have not been a good file, because when I got the file you mentioned & started to use it....OH BOY!!! What a difference. I LOVE IT! Thanks. May even order a few more! Question? If you use the Duri Rejuvacote as a base coat, does it help from any nail polishes staining as well. Also, How many coats do you use? Thanks for the Video!

    • @KelliMarissa
      @KelliMarissa  7 років тому +1

      +Melissa Moretti- Stoops right?! I'm obsessed with that file! I've been using the same one since last January and honestly it still works fine, it's crazy. And thank you so much :) I use Rejuvacote as a base coat in the winter and I haven't had staining (and I loooove dark vampy colors in the winter) so I think you'd be good with just one coat, that's how many I use!

      +VKS Dub oh thank you so much! Well I have to be honest, when my nails get week, it does take a few weeks at least to get them back to strength. I went home for the holidays for two weeks and didn't use any of my usual treatments and my nails got pretty dry and brittle. It took almost a month to get them back to normal using my strengthener, and filing and moisturizing regularly!

      +Russia Oberholzer thank you so much :) in the winter, I use it once a week, and it has not caused my nails to get brittle. Once my nails are very strong, I do switch to a regular base coat though :)

    I try so hard not to peel my nail polish off, But I suffer from three anxiety disorders and always end up picking at my polish when highly anxious. I have infused a bottle of base coat with garlic. I use coconut or jojoba oils on my nails 2-3 times a day and just doing that makes a huge improvement. I always have my nails painted. They're actually currently stained from all the red polish I wore around Christmas.
    Also, I went gluten free back in April (gettng close to a year now wow) and noticed a HUGE change in my nails and hair. Both are growing faster. Nails are growing stronger. Hair is growing thicker (Not that I needed thicker hair)

    • @KelliMarissa
      @KelliMarissa  7 років тому +3

      +CrownedLily thank you for sharing your tips with us! I'm sorry to hear about your anxiety :( you might want to look into a peel off base coat or peel off nail polish - you'll be able to peel it without ruining your natural nail, plus more opportunities to paint your nails as a stress relieving activity :) I haven't heard that about gluten, but it's super interesting - will definitely do some research (although I definitely don't need thicker hair either LOL)

      @KelliMarissa  7 років тому

      +2tzus I do use Rejuvacote 2 actually, I've never used the first formula but from what I heard, they are extremely similar. I believe the only difference is that formula 1 dries quicker.

    • @2tzus
      @2tzus 7 років тому

      I think formula 2 has less chemicals in it also. Do you buy it online? I see Walmart has formula 1 but I haven't seen formula 2 there.

    • @KelliMarissa
      @KelliMarissa  7 років тому

      +2tzus yes, you're right - formula 2 is formaldehyde free as well! I think that's why it dries slower. I used to buy formula 2 at a nail polish supply store but now I order it from Amazon when it's available!

    Correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read many times that nail strengtheners are actually bad to use for nails (possibly if you use them frequently) because they cause your nails to harden and then break easily.

    • @KelliMarissa
      @KelliMarissa  6 років тому +1

      Hey Celeste, I’ve heard this before, but I use strengtheners religiously and my nails are strong but flexible and I have a break maybe once every two years or so.
