HEY GUYS! Today I'm doing something especially funky - I decided to try to do some nail art using eyeshadow instead of nail polish! I created a cool metallic mani and a gradient, all using the Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette :) Let me know if you want me to try other nail art looks using makeup!

My method is easier
1. top coat
2. Let dry completely
3. Rub eyeshadow on
4. Seal in with a top coat
And it looks like those expensive chrome powders

Same Q as joana, I can't imagine that the shadow would stick to completely dried polish?
Could you do it without the first top coat so that you let the nailpolish dry completely, do the eyeshadow and add a top coat?

What a good way to use the colors that I think are beautiful in the pan but am not confident enough to wear to work. Also going to try this with my pressed glitters!! Love this!
Love this video! I'm not a nail art person because I'm legally blind and have difficulty focusing so it's just easier not for me to worry about it lol. I found this actually something I can actually do and something I've been interested in for a long time. I would love to see different color combos especially anything that features drugsi/affordable brands of makeup and nail polish. This was helpful and super fun and useful and helpful for me. You can use the brush that comes with the eyeshadow to pack around the edges of your nail. That's what I do. Hope it helps.

OMG that's a awesome idea I would never had thought of using eyeshadow. what a easy way to do your nails and they look so awesome too. I'm going to try this next time I do my nails. I love to do my nails but sometimes it came be so time consuming waiting for all the costs of polish to dry. I love this idea.

What a great idea! Can't wait to try this! This would be a good way to use up the colors that come in palettes that I would never use on my eyes (I hate to waste). I wonder if you could use a makeup brush or those applicators that come with eyeshadow to get the edges better though... I do love how your tutorials are for short nail girls! I like to keep mine short and sometimes have trouble finding nail art to fit them. Thanks for all the great ideas! 💟💅💟💅💟

Yes apply after topcoat. Best cheap tip is use a brush, sponge etc and have fun! Plus a good $ cheap way to temporarily cover polish chips and dings! Love it! Best basecoat is Essie "Here Stay ", super tough and strengthened my weal chipped nails. 7 days now and a few chips in my Essie French manicure but not ONE nail has split or chipped! Astounding! Nailtek 2 nail repair was good but then my nails started chipping! Essie topcoats & basecoats are really thin, beware of the thicker Essie polishes! Gel polishes can stick with my toes, Best cheap gel basecoat is Arte Clavo! UK 🇬🇧

I am going to try this with Milani Baked Blush in Bellini because it was WAY TOO GLITTERY for my face. 😁 But the color is gorgeous, like pinky-coral and gold.

If you wanna do a palette with lots of colors, try the BH Cosmetics Take Me to Brazil palette. :) It's pretty cheap, has a lot of colors, and has much better quality pigmentation than the UD Full Spectrum palette.
Also, this is awesome! I look forward to trying this. How do you think it would work with loose pigments?

That is such a beautiful palette, hope you feel better soon so you can do a tutorial with it. BTW if you use an eyeshadow sponge applicator instead of your fingers, you can get to the edge easier and less mess (from my experience). Keep these wonderful vids coming :)

Actually tried this out last night, LOVED it!
Then today I remembered i had some fine cosmetic glitter lying around and decided to use that.

I've done this with an eyeshadow sponge applicator, it's easier to get along the edges. also really fun to do over black stamped images! and next time you feel a sunburn coming on, start taking ibuprofen. it will help control the inflammation ☀️

i have been using eye shadows and pigments with great results. i have even ground up some sidewalk chalk. i could not get any of them to work well over regular polish. using a regular white or lighter polish works well if you apply a gel top coat or even base coat over it. you need the sticky layer. i have been getting a large amount of eyeshadows/pigments on e bay. i just got 40 shadows for around $3.00. there is a container of 252 shadows for $5.00. i crush them and put them in small containers big enough to dip my small fluff brush into. the best results come from pouncing the colors on, not rubbing. i have crushed up old shadows and blushes that i haven't used lately. they all work great when dabbed onto the sticky layer of a gel. i have also found that using a regular top coat can ruin it. it took the polish right of some. the sidewalk chalk gives a very soft pastel look and is beautiful for stamping designs onto it. my advice is to look at discount stores for anything that can be crushed. using a no wipe gel top coat will give you great results. warning. this can be very addictive. lol hope this helps. :))

that actually makes sense about the lefty thing because I know how to do it and I'm right handed, and the way I do it does seem like it's easy for a righty, you could do it the opposite way for a lefty but I bet kindergarten teachers weren't too concerned about it! so interesting lol
