He when he landed a little of the centre: It was not perfect.
Me when i land and pilot is alive and only one engine is on fire: Huh that was a really good landing.
Honestly 😂
I can air to air refuel with the Hornet. I can land the Hornet on a carrier. But before watching this, I had never once landed the MiG29 without dying. Thanks Cap, this really helped.
Facts😂😂😂😂
When you startup on the autopilot panel the pitch dampener will flash for 3 minutes when its on steady the pitch dampener is online
Right shift plus enter brings up the trimmer menu, so you know where your trimmer is set.
Golden rule of flying a descent (or a climb) in any aircraft. Pitch/AOA controls SPEED. Thrust controls RATE OF DESCENT. So if landing short increase throttle, Long Decrease throttle. Fast Increase Pitch/AoA, Slow decrease pitch AOA. Best example is a carrier approach in a SU33 (or FA-18) , Pilot is constantly moving the THROTTLE, whilst holding a constant AOA, rarely touching the pitch once approach AOA is established. Yes I know you all know that.. but always worth repeating 👌 .
if all people knew that, nobody would watch videos like these
Great for carrier ops,but on land you will do that in a prop plane. With jets it's pitch for altitude, power to stay on speed. In commercial jets we keep the Vref on autothrottle and use the yoke for altitude
@@tuningobd5371 always good to learn something I didn't know !
@@andreartymiuk A good pilot always learns :D. I'll tell you something else that's interesting: there are two ways to climb... in one you set a speed and engine power and let the autopilot sort out the vert speed, or set a speed and VV , the autothrottle will keep you on track with certain limits.
@Gort True you are right best way varies. I fly Gliders rather than powered aircraft so the approach (since no throttle to complicate things) is controlled by Pitch/Airspeed, Flaps (if present) , Spoilers and Weight (water ballast if present can be discarded for approach), and correct initial positioning for the approach.
I appreciate how straightforward and clean this tutorial was without sacrificing your typical interactive dialogue. It sounded great and was easier to focus on than previous tutorials I've seen. Keep it up, friend. o7
Well done, sir! Thank you for making this easier for us perpetual beginners of such sims 🙂
thx
Use the extended rwy centerline to help you align with the rwy. Just draw in your mind a line extending out and try to intercept that line. Typically at 3 mile final, you should be 900 agl, so 1.5 miles=450 agl.
I just started w DCS and am focusing on the Mig29 so this is certainly helpful and very pertinent to what I’m doing Right now . Keep up the excellent content

Thnx. Alrdy started browsing
If you are new to DCS or the Mig-29 just remember this bird absolutely guzzles fuel. You will be bingo before you know it on almost every flight
Knightfang1 yep! I ran out of fuel yesterday in like 20 min. I was wondering why my engines powered off and was losing speed on my attempted climb
So the centerline drop tank is a must.
Excellent and thank you! It would be nice if this was documented correctly in the manual.
When you hold the wheel brake, then spool up to max and release before skidding you do a pretty stilish wheelie
After flying the FW-190 for months, the MIG-29 felt like a feather on steroids.
Plus it´s the most beautiful aircraft ever build.
Afterburner takeoff recommended in 29? Maybe if wheel brakes are on.
The default bindings for the wheel brakes on my rudder pedals were all back to front and messed up, see my comment above :)
@Gort It's probably because few throttles have any kind of afterburner detent or physical feedback. It would be nice if throttles made a physical "click" when sliding past the last 10% of the throttle range.
"WE will not be using airbrake in this aircraft"
but YOu didn't say why.
I was looking for the airbrake to deploy in the game
BUT it never came out.
Airbrake won’t work with gear down even if you don’t have external tank
Hi Cap, thanks for the video. You landed safely, and way better than in the previous video (which to be honest I felt was horrendous for a tutorial.) So kudos for that!
A comment though. You approached with your touchdown AoA, so in the end you didn't flare as announced on downwind and touched down Navy style. You cut power without pitching up which started to increase your rate of descent. That was ok because you were low enough so the increase of sink rate was mild before touch touchdown, but it's worth noting.
I personnally aim for a sink rate of 1 meter/s on touchdown to reduce risks of bouncing, and just like you I deploy the dragchute late, once the nosewheel is on the ground or about to be. Deploying the chute immediately on touchdown is going to make the nosewheel slam the runway. If runway length permits, aerodynamic braking is much more elegant but more importantly probably reduces the risk of bursting the front tires if you're heavy.
Thanks for the remake.
I always tend so slawm it down, i dont know why. Doing everything exactly as you are
If anyone's flying this for the first time, and using rudder pedal, just check your wheelbrake axis are set to "slider", and double check if you need to reverse the axis or not (mine were set so that they were on by default, so pushing the pedals released them, the opposite of what they should have been). I couldn't figure out why I kept blowing tyres when taxying . I needed to change both options for my rudder pedals in all Mig-29s, SU-27, SU-33 and J-11. Also, you have to release the parking brake when first stepping into the jet, AFAIK, there's no "wheelbrake on" warning light in the jet.
*That goes for all Flanker/Fulcrum variants (I've not checked the Frogfoot).
thx
@@grimreapers Croeso.
I’ve had that problem with a few different jets, I believe all the Russian FC3 planes and the MB-339 mod have all had reversed brakes for me as default
Nice landing! I would wisen you to noten a 320 km/h closing before the threshold, then keep a flare in ground effect until 8 degree pitch and let it hit the runway softly. Keep it nose up to loftbrake, otherwise you could burst the tyres when loaded. it is harder, but more fullfilling.
What map is he playing at?
Please make a video on how to dogfight in the F16 a lot of people says lots of different things about it and i dont really know whos right
search "grim reapers f-16c dogfight"
So they did something with that weird pitch instability with any load on?
People weren't waiting for the pitch dampener to align.
My Mig 29 plane turns right from no where
what is the stall speed for MiG-29?
Do you have the problem of pitch pogoing in Mig-29? Do you have curves set up for 29??
Yes I do have the problem, currently have 25 but may change it.
@@grimreapers need to experiment with that. The pitch of 29 is very twitchy when it's 20 or less. Can't land it. When in dogfight best thing to do is to trim reset, It really helps getting to high AOAs
and they say the f15c is a bitch to land
Between mig 29 and su 27 which one should i buy
27
No newer models of Mig29 in this game?
not sure whats wrong, mine drops like a brick when i get below 300 air speed,
Same
Weren’t you leaving for a week, where’d this come from?
I produced 3 vids per day in advance so there were 21 vids already uploaded for this week.
Mig 21 cant take off with mil power with some bombs
My tires always blow unless I get off the ground immediately after rotation.
Because your wheelbrakes are still on. Check my post up top.
I've mapped my wheel brakes to the lever on my stick so they are definitely not reversed. I coast down the tarmac, so I don't think I have a parking break on, but I'll check that. Thanks.
@@blarneyserver1504 Wheel brakes and parking brakes are two different things in the Flanker/Fulcrum. As far as I can tell, the brakes are either on or off with each pull of the lever, BUT.... if you're using rudder pedals, then the toe brakes are separate. Check that each of their "Slider" boxes are ticked, and Check that their control laws aren't reversed as they were in my jet (so the brakes were on when I wasn't pushing the brakes, and off when I pressed them, weird, I know...). So in a nutshell, get in the jet, when ready to taxi, pull the lever brake once, and then use wheel brakes for taxying. It took me a while to figure it out. It was because I was doing the FC3 "shoot down cruise missiles" mission and I couldn't figure out why I kept stalling and crashing into the sea during Take off. Also, be sure to map a NWS button to your stick, and turn it off before Take off (to prevent wildly veering to the side).
The tires will blow at speeds above 320 km/h. Usually on full load, I pull the nose up once I hit the 300 km/h mark.
Thanks Icids Ang. This was helpful. Aeronaut...not so much.
I don’t think I’ve ever landed a mig 29 without crashing in 4 years of dcs
But the PFM came like a year ago... You had landing problems with SFM?

What is PMF & SMF ?
@@matk4731 PFM= Professional Flight Model, it's the highest form of flight model currently in DCS , it calculates from aerodynamics to hydrolics and everything and flys amlost like the real thing. SMF=Simplyfied Flight Model now is the flight model that was used back in the LOMAC days and the aircraft feels like its flying on tracks , big difference between those 2.

Ok I just know them as study level (sim) & simplified (arcade).
If this is a game...where do i get this game..anyone..kindly tell me.
It's called Digital Combat Simulator. If you really wanna get your socks blown off, check this out ua-cam.com/video/P95miBHVuNQ/v-deo.html
www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/
Game is a simulation called Digital combat simulator open beta. Have fun
Steam
its either on steam or on their own website(idk what the website is called but you can try eagle dynamics)
Too wide a circuit there.Stay1500 agl.Lateral distance should be close enough to get you to the r/way in case of engine failure.....
