Being a Nissan fan and previous Nissan owner, the Armada has always been independent rear suspension. A quick look of the under carriage behind the rear tires will reveal so. Thanks for the demo.
Just traded our 2019 Armada for a 2023. We don’t need the 3rd row everyday so it’s perfectly sized for when we do. My wife also loves that it’s interior is updated, but not as high tech as the Volvo XC90 we had. Fuel economy sucks, but you gotta pay to play V8. And it still gets 400 miles + per tank on road trips.
4 runner 4.0 v 6 engine one of the best Toyota engines and 5 sp transmission are bulletproof. Yes not that much power. Armada is nice too and pretty reliable but it’s not come close to 4 runner reliability. Take care of it will run forever.
Had my Armada since 2019. Totally trouble free, fits our family of six perfect. Fast if you push it and tows like a truck. Only downside is fuel economy, but for what I bought it, it will buy me gas for the next 10 years or more :-)
"it will buy me gas for the next 10 years or more :-)" Exactly; lust like the land cruiser or GX460. Too bad they didn't put Nissan's KDSS version on the Armada.
This is a well built Japanese suv with great fit and finish, workmanship and a proven design. Of note, I believe that adaptive cruise control is standard on all trims, whereas chevys, gmcs and fords, one has to buy the higher trim levels to get all the bells and whistles. For a reasonable price, as much as 20,000 less than the competition (20,000 will buy a lot of gas) you get a vey solidly built suv….and it has a console shifter!
A used one with an updated info center (2021 and up) legit one owner-non rental with low miles at under 40K is possible to find. Bad mpg would be my only negative in that case.
Buddy, you need to get a real jacket. Nice car, nissans are better than people give them credit. They use materials that will still look good after 10 years of sunshine.
How much more tech do you really want? Drove an Armada for the last three days. I like the price, the v8 towing capacity, especially sitting up high. Not the most comfortable full size SUV; I’m 6’4”. Still a great choice for a big SUV. Gas consumption is the ONLY negative here.
Is there a point where a solid buy is actually better than a "better" buy? I'd like to think so, not sure if the Armada is it, but I appreciate solid and established vehicles that will perform well for years to come (and if ever an issue arises is backed by a long model history and robust parts and serviceability).
These short wheelbase body-on-frame SUVs are a non-starter for families that really need a 3rd row. The hatch is nearly unusable and third row only fits children.
I don't think third row size is an issue, but trunk space sure is if you plan on road-tripping. Kids probably wouldn't outgrow the 3rd row until age 12 or so? So this vehicle would work for over half the time the kids are in the house.
@@henrybrar I can think of several reasons...car seats strapped into the 2nd row, family members visiting, older children. Happens all the time in my household. I have four children, three of whom are now adults. When we have the grandparents, we're using every single seat. And you can forget about tossing luggage in the back when the 3rd row is in use. These short wheelbase body-on-frame vehicles are really for people that rarely use a 3rd row.
@@jghall00 With that big a family a Van is your only option then. We have a Yukon XL in family but that won't work either for family of 6 as 3rd row is not comfortable for longer trips.
It's just ok. Fuel economy is not the best. Roomy for what I use it for. The carplay seems to be wiggy disengaging every so often on long drives. Not the best on luggage storage when you have a full house on passengers. I have to push the back row seats down to get all our luggage to fit.
I rode in the very back and drove one of these Platinum Editions...... the ride was terrible. I get it, it's body on frame, but some other brands handle the ride quality so much better.
Redesign armada keep the v8 bur buff it nd give a 470 hp nd use the tt v6 as base engine also make it roomy for maximum cargo space of 120 cubic ft then do an xl like a expedition or suburban and offer 150 cubic feet
no they don’t. nobody buys big SUVs for gas savings lol. if they can manage to keep the V8 and still offer a TTV6 that would be ideal. but just note that turbo 6s don’t get that much better MPGs than their larger displacement counterparts
Japanese SUVs are doomed. They still using decades old techs, they don't offer as many features as their rivals, and yet they still charge premium prices. Kia and Hyundai will fully replace Japanese in the coming years, becoming the main rivals against European.
@@Mike01gsr you are right. Japanese SUVs for sure have their unique selling points, like some comments above, they are indestructible, reliable, or some may prefer U.S. made. But for general family users, would you rather pay the same money for a reliable conservative Japanese car with way less features, or for something contemporary, and packed with high tech features like European or U.S made?
Bwahahaha…people still want reliable, well built vehicles, and can see past all the gimmicks. Kia/Hyundai are all show and no substance for people who can’t see past “oooo new shiny thing”.

That V8 rumble it's a fair trade though.
I love the Armada. Almost got one but instead went for a 4Runner. Armada wouldn't fit in my garage. Wanted an old school SUV still made in Japan.
the Armada is old school (the underpinnings of this date back to 2011) and it’s still built in Japan. seems like you just wanted a smaller SUV

Toyota Sequia redesign has been messed up
Badly. Just like I tried to tell everyone this would happen 😂
Yet no one listened

This is still infinitely better than the catastrophic redesigned Toyota sequoia
Agreed
The fact that Ford had a better twin 6 cyl engine is pretty bad for toyota. Sad for my beloved toyota
@@kaizen5180 yeah those EB V6 engines are dialed in after years of usage.
I actually like the Seqouia especially the luxury oriented trims. I personally would choose the Wagoner’s with the Inline-6.
My 2014 Ford Explorer with the V6 and 153,000 + miles is still strong!
You must have been pretty unlucky and got the only Armada in the world with a solid rear axle. Bummer.
This is my favorite vehicle to afford it bro.
Jost snagged one because it doesn't have slender deactivation Start Stop or turbos.
The Nissan Armada started using the overseas Nissan Patrol model in 2016 right???
Yes but a mostly decontented version stripped of all the good off road bits
These short wheelbase body-on-frame SUVs are a non-starter for families that really need a 3rd row. The hatch is nearly unusable and third row only fits children.
So why do adults need to sit in back when the kids in family can sit in 3rd row?

There is plenty of content within this review. Very well done...
Pretty sure the Nissan Armada has been independent rear suspension for a long time. That seems like a pretty large miss for a review.
I had an Armada and believe had four wheel independent suspension. (Wish bone)
The bigger suvs not reliable as a Nissan Armada. Armada is truly impressive
I owned 3 great plan to bump up to is brother q80 soon
Cheers to Nissan Australia for giving us the old infotainment still on the Patrol.
I love this suv

Better but you can get one now for 50k and the rest start 20k higher

No I’m actually not asking if we saw it on the channel, I’m wondering what in tarnation are you still doing here?

This review doesn't reflect how great a vehicle this Armada is.
If they can have some respect for themselves and stop shipping them to rental cars lots, maybe the depreciation wouldn't be nose diving

The only JDM full sized v8 SUV
As always like the channel. And love the eye candy Bryan.
Big Range Rover vibes (front end).
The review seems rushed. Could have shown the cargo space with folded seats.
WOW HE REALLY MAKES YOU DONT WANNA BUY IT & GET THE SHITTYER BROTHER QX80 OR A JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE...
Luxurious nice SUV
Ill keep my buttons
it is real wood.
ALL armadas have Independent rear suspension.
No Alex On autos no thanks
Armada looks great! But they really need to update the transmission, and put in a V6 with turbo or hybrid for better gas mileage.

Doomed? They are indestructible.
European? you must live overseas because GM and Ford and jeep dominate SUVs in the United States. Ever heard of a Tahoe?
I agree with some of your points, but if you need to tow, and don't want to spend big money on one of the domestics, this is the next game in town.
