      kappyspad1 Thanks! It's taken me a few years to accumulate. I seem to have more time to shop than I have time to smoke. Haha

      Thanks, Patrick! I haven't smoked it yet... but I was thinking that I would smoke that one for my next "full" review. Your suggestion solidifies that urge. The Gurkha will be next!

    You have a great selection! If you don't mind me asking, what is your favorite cigar and favorite cigar brand?

    Nice Humi review, down to earth and non-snobbish, very nice. Although I respectfully disagree on one thing....you ARE a collector. Took me a while to admit too. If I was geographically closer, Id love to burn a cigar with you. Nice job!

      Rob Z Thanks, Rob! Maybe I am a collector... though, the reason I say I'm not is because I buy cigars with the intent of smoking them as opposed to "having" them. A lot of Opus guys or Drew Estate folks enjoy having a large collection of rare and expensive sticks. For me, I just want to see how they smoke. My problem is that I buy cigars faster than I smoke them. And, I can;t pass up a good deal, so that also builds my inventory. Thanks for the comment, and definitely hit me up if you're ever in southern AZ. Take care, buddy!

    Great collection, I'm smoking a few more non Cubans at moment, but I've found some of them very much stronger and certainly not as easy to smoke as most Cubans I owe

      John McIrvine Cuban or non-Cuban, I subscribe to the philosophy of smoke what you like and like what you smoke. And I hope you are enjoying what ever sticks you have on hand regardless of the country of origin! Thanks for the comment!

    great collection...i am a new cigar smoker and just smoked a partagas 1845 red label today and was not a fan..the taste was very bitter to me..for a beginner what would you suggest?

    • @PoolsideCigarReviews
      @PoolsideCigarReviews  10 років тому

      Derek Robbins Thanks Derek! My favorite cigar for beginners is the Ashton Classic. It's not super cheap, but it's tasty. Also look for the Alec Bradley Connecticut, Oliva Connecticut, Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real, and Esteban Carreras 211. There are lots of great mild cigars out there. If you are going to a shop, ask an employee. They are usually very helpful. Best of luck on your cigar journey!

    I read somewhere that if you take the cigars out of the cellophane and stack different brands together that you'll run the risk of flavors/wrappers mixing between the cigars and can ruin their flavors. You clearly are not worried about that. I'm new to storing cigars and wanted to know if you have ever experienced that or do you think it's perfectly fine to stack all brands together? Thanks. -Robert

      ***** Great question, Robert! I've read the same things, but most people will tell you that it doesn't really matter, unless you are talking about infused cigars. Infused cigars (and some fire cured sticks) should be kept away from the natural stuff. But a maduro touching a connecticut will generally not bleed flavors. I wouldn't worry about it unless you are a serious collector and planning on aging cigars for decades. But, as with all things cigars, there is a lot of art and nuance to everything. So, if you feel safer with cigars in cello, keep them in cello. It won't hurt a thing. I really appreciate your question. Please, let me know if I can help you with anything else!

    Do you have any Cubans?

    • @PoolsideCigarReviews
      @PoolsideCigarReviews  10 років тому

      Rino Cefaloni Not at the moment. The only time I have Cubans is if someone gives them to me. For my personal taste, budget and interest, non-Cubans are more than adequate. Cheers, friend!
