Thank you for this video, Kirby. I've been smoking cigars for a year. I've a lot of "New World" cigars, and I'm just starting to explore cubans. Thank you so much for sharing some of your favorites.
Edit: 28:00 never mind If you want really good companionship, get into rare bourbon/whiskey. You don't drink to get drunk, like you dont smoke as a cigarette addiction. Its about subtle notes and fantastic releases. There are many parallels between the bourbon crowd and the cigar crowd.
Good call on switching to all Cubans. I’ve had to bite the bullet and have done almost the same thing. I still love Davidoff cigars. I’ve been stocking up on Cubans that cost about $10-$15 a stick. I would recommend to try H. Upmann Coronas Major. Excellent smoke for about $15 a stick. You will love them. EGM usually has them in stock.
Casa Pelletier is an amazing cigar lounge & bar/restaurant located in the 14th Arr. and must to visit when in Paris. It is is next to a wonderful cigar shop called Art Tabac.
Kirby, Thank you for sharing this great content, most enjoyable. Happy New Year to you and your family, May 2025 be a happy, healthy and successful year for you and all. Stay safe, Kevin A
as a 2 year smoker of premium cigars i have to admit i enjoy a cuban more cuz of lighter nicotine and taste. i do try a lot of new world and also super nice tasting onces their, but once i light even a budget cuban i just taste like home idk. a little more sweet
I'm so sick of people holding there nose up smoking a Cuban cigar. Maybe 25 years ago or more, Cubans was the only way to get a quality cigar. But now, Cubans are on the bottom shelf in terms of quality and exotic blends. And don't get me started on price. How can I get a 15 year aged tobacco blended with aged tobacco from all around the world shiped to my door step for $10 for one cigar and even cheaper if I buy a box. But for junk that has the Cuban gov stamp, it will cost 3x that and don't get she started on "the good stuff" at $100 plus a cigar! I have smoked bundle cigars that cost $30 for 25 cigars that are just as good as any Cuban. But people are so delusional that they will say, oh you have to age then 10 years. Me, I'll stick with the MANY new world cigars that I can smoke right away because they have already been aged. Smoking a My father La Oplencia and it's AMAZING! Ordering a box now.
People can smoke what they want. It's not that complicated. Neither is it a competition. It's their money, their choice. And for thos who only smoke cubans cause of whatever perceived status they think it gives them, let them be. Like honestly who cares.
@@micahpbt9638 Think its more about people kinda get tricked by cuban cigars. And i think its kinda important to highlight things like this, cause cuban cigars are very expensive and for a new cigar smoker who dosen't have much knowledge in this world. Only knows that ''cuban cigars'' are the best and spend way more money then they have to. And can get a really good cigar for half of the price.
@micahpbt9638 right, but they started in the video the discussion and the comparison with new world cigars so let others discuss about it too. Otherwise it s unfair and only one sided. They could have just smoked their cubans without pointing it out and compare it with new world cigars.. they did and they got a response. You need tolerate the opinion about the other side too. Thanks.
I didn’t mean to stir up any feelings. I have no problems with NW cigars at all it’s just that, for ME, Cuban cigars fits my palate better. I have nothing bad to say about NW cigars. I am on different tasting panels where I smoke them all the time. If you like a particular cigar then that’s great! I would never try to take that away from you. Enjoy your cigar sir!
This episode is of such poor quality that it was difficult to endure. A platform of this scale should prioritize delivering high production standards rather than relying on formats such as Zoom calls, which result in an experience that is virtually unwatchable.
Two great cigar connoisseurs and great friends!

I totally agree that same cigar or drink tastes different when I will be at home. Just the place, the company, the climate it makes it complete.
Nice sweater Mikael, sign of a well dressed man - wearing sweaters under a coat.

I am sorry that you feel that way. Sometimes it’s hard to have perfect quality when you’re on different continents.
Quality is the content of the video and the conversation loved the video
Get over it. You're not important
