The garments are excellent and complex - superb tailoring & fabrics. i don't think the theatricality is necessary. We don't leave in utopian lands & stages. Customers will walk around in an everyday life - doing whatever they are doing. The complexity - & beauty - of the clothes speaks for itself
I love Thom Browne he and Rick Owens are two of the few designers that have signature esthetic that is all their own. Another one that comes to mind is Thierry Mugler. All the other design houses are all over the place. Dior, Gucci, Channel... no longer have a look.

The black coat with the white roses is beautiful! Loved that the doggies matched the footwear and luggage with that strange green plastic like material. The white coat with the outlined black birds was great, too! Love the "egg" dresses - the way the line flowed out from just above the breast all the way down to the narrow ankle. And the poufy skirt with birds and green metallic pieces.

There's definitely a Tim Burtonesque feel to this presentation. However, if you strip away the theatrics and focus on the clothing, there are probably as least a few pieces that could be wearable. I would imagine that most of the customers for this brand will buy one or two items and wear them with other things to neutralize the look. Though I can't imagine too many women wanting to look like stuffed pumpkins. This look is definitely not for the street. The fact that the models walk so slowly tells me that the clothing actually impedes their movement. I think one of the pitfalls of gay men designing clothing for women is that they never understand what it's like to wear anything they produce. I watched this video as part of New York fashion week, which followed right after watching the collection of Carolina Herrera. The two labels are like night and day from each other, and though a young man is now at the creative helm at CH, he's perfectly channeled the design aesthetic of his mentor.
Just watch the show again there were definitely some fantastic pieces and some ridiculous things especially the bubble dresses and why would they ridiculous because they didn’t have enough edge to them. It was all far too strict.
I am glad that Thom did not follow the trend to include plus size model for his collection. This plus size people will make his collection look incoherent. To hell with being trying to be inclusive and hypocrite, lose some weight if you want to fit into his collection
