My father and Joe Avazzano were friends and teammates in high school in Miami. Yeah, he wasn’t a good college coach but he’d go on to win awards for being an outstanding NFL assistant. Sadly, he passed away in 2012.
The 1987 New Mexico Lobos had an NFL WR on their roster. He played for 13 years in the NFL. The 1988 Kansas State team almost got the football program shut down.
Surpised the 1988 Wisconsin Badgers did not make the list or HM ..... they use to say that people would put 4 tickets in the wall outside the stadium for free and the person come back later and there to see if they were gone but instead there was 8 tickets in the wall
I'm surprised you didn't include the 1984 Colorado Buffaloes who finished 1-10. They did win a National Championship five years later (another story), but the 1984 team was bad.
Thanks for watching. But after looking them over they did stay close with a few teams. But I also did a video on the 1990 season and Colorado National title
FBS used to be able to play D2 schools up to a few years ago, and FCS teams play D2 and D3 schools. Also if they were on the same level the bowl committee wouldn't punish you for playing two FCS teams a year. Since they only count 1 win over an FCS team, so if you are an FBS team and play 2 FCS teams, win those two and 4 other games over FBS teams, the bowl committee will only see the team as having 5 wins. So yeah they aren't on the same level.

The green horns on the helmets and the youth of Colorado State are fitting.

Thanks for watching. Love the story. And I was very nice to power 5 teams in making these lists.
So informative!

Those all purple uniforms of Kansas State made them look like grapes.
D1-AA now FCS is and was most certainly Division 1 football. If they weren’t they couldn’t play FBS schools.
