What did you use to solder the chip in?? All i see is cleaning with flux and putting and removing with the tiny foil chips. Unless it was that huge machine. If im mistaken.

Reworking or Reflowing is (usually) using liquid flux under the chip and then heating the chip until all the old solder remelts and reforms connections with the liquid flux deoxidizing the solder pads to ensure good solder contact.
I just don't get why more people don't replace it!. Buy new chip.. Its seriously $30-50 bucks. lol. I suppose the wait time is TERRIBLE for overseas shipping. And then all the work would be so much better if it was a new CHIP. I will at least inform people its being RE SOLDERED. New chip is the only (PERMANENT FIX) and more expensive. $280+ US. including new chip, etc.

Ca l um, it broke because of a defective video chip. Using a different thermal paste is not going to cause a manufacturing defect in the chip. Also using crappy to good thermal paste will only change your temps by 5-10C at best.
