agreed, this is the best editor. Filmora, hitfilm, and others are just really annoying due to watermarks. Loved this Editor Ever since.

This is one of the very few VSDC ADVANCED VIDEO EDITING TUTORIAL VIDEOS. I hope you guys keep making advanced tutorials like this.......because VSDC has plenty of features and it keeps getting better. BUT USERS NEED TO KNOW HOW TO USE THOSE ADVANCED FEATURES, and thankfully we have this advanced tutorial. VSDC CAN AND SHOULD COMPETE HEAD TO HEAD WITH PREMIERE PRO and DAVINCI RESOLVE.

I use VSDC to edit the videos on my channel! I am a beginner right now, but I intend to keep learning. At first, I started using 3 or 4 other video editors and I got frustrated for various reasons but with this one I have no problems.
Damn so much of work for 1 transition...

When I move the second video file ontop of the first, nothing I do will create the effect. It is just instant onto the next clip. If I leave it below the first clip, the effect is achieved. I am very confused...

That is happening cuz in the editor the video file that is on top is going to be the one that shows up which then cancels the transition from the previous video because it overlapped it

I agree! Of course I could turn down the distracting music. But I await some useful comments. There were none, so I have to watch it again with the music turned down so I can concentrate. So even if no talking, don't add music!!

Honestly, well done. The question now is, how can I speed up this transition?
You can simply shorten any effect layer by using side handlers. This way, you will shorten the effect duration and, consequently, speed it up.
These are too many steps for a simple transition that's already imbedded in many other video editors. I'm still using this App for what I need right now, but I do see myself using another app in the future. Their Text effects are also very limited compared to other programs.

This is way too many steps for one simple transition. I can understand the free version needing to take this long, but the premium version should at least have a simpler way to accomplish the same effect.
