This is everyone's favourite one in the BE album.
V wrote this song when he was suffering from burnout and possibly depression. He said this a couple of times, I also think that’s why the members wrote such moving messages to him on the rolling paper during the fiesta. So its actually V's own story. Makes this song even more emotional.
Blue and Grey is A song expressing sad, anxiety , disorder and depression which are usually shown through ' Blue and Grey' color and that motivated him to write this song. V's style of writing and composing is very poetic.

I think it is simpler. Tae stated in an interview that he wrote this song when his mental health was not good, come on, that he was going through a depression, as usual in humans. With "Blue & Gray" he showed us a part that he doesn't usually show, maybe because he doesn't make the fandom feel bad, but it's something he feels, and I think we all go through difficult times at times. I see it as a declaration that he is equal to me, that he suffers and is real and it is not bad to suffer, as long as we get over it later. It is a song that completely humanizes them.

Jimin drew me first with his awesome vocals and devilish smile. But then I watched Jhope’s Chicken Noodle Soup and couldn’t get over his dance moves and melodious rap. V blew me away with his music, Blue and Grey is the best so far, and his sultry good looks. Jin (Happy Birthday) melted my heart with his angelic sounds and his boy next door charm while Suga on the other bowled me over with his mournful rap and Heathcliff qualities. RM ‘s forceful rap gets me every time and I feel like when he looks at you he sees into your soul (those dimples aren’t bad either). So I dare not say I have a bias ‘cause then the other 6 would be bias wreckers so my solution was simple- I adopted them as my grandchildren 🥰

Taehyung wrote this song during his hardest time. He said that even the simplest things felt like a chore and he just lost motivation to continue. We can see that during the MOTS7 promotion. He became so depressed but thankfully he put all his emotions into his art and Blue and Grey and his future mixtape came about. And now, he's doing so much better. He is at his happiest 🥺💜

i'm not gonna lie, i love bts's complex messages with their songs and albums, it's one of my favorite things about them, but I'm glad that (at least for me) blue and gray is just a song about being sad. no map of the soul, no overthinking, for me it's just like when things hurt so much for no apparent reason, and you just wanna cry and lay there. i realized just a few days ago how taehyung has so many posts on weverse about how he can't sleep, and i feel like he often might feel this way. it hurts me a lot, but it's also nice to feel understood.

As explained by lots of people below this song was written by him when he was at the lowest point of his life, and he wrote this as he didn't want to leave these feelings behind, and that's maybe because, as he said in those lyrics "Far in the future, if I smile I'll say that's how it used to be".

For me it felt like he was asking for help or trying to find comfort im something but couldn’t find it.
Most of the time when you’re sad you don’t really ask for comfort or help straight away, you leave hints in your words or actions, and when it doesn’t get noticed, it feels like “a colorless echo”
That’s how I interpret this sentence.
Also another line that really stood out to me was jhope’s “Rhino” coming towards him, I heard from other Armys that it was a reference to a book, I don’t remember the name, but the “Rhino” is basically depression, and you don’t notice it until it comes close to you, and it’s already big.
This song is really sad but at the same time really comforting ㅠㅠ

That's how the word narcissism came.(in the song "singularity" you can see V with the coat with his own hand. And there was reflection of him in the water) "Eco" is also a mythological character who fell in love with Narcissus. But he avoided her. Eco was known for her ability to speak. And her ability was lost. ( Singularity represents both Narcissus and Eco. V is Narcissus with beauty and self-love and also Eco with pain)

The jhope part where he says 'a grey
rhinoceros'. This line is very meaningful because it speak about how in our life when we are depressed and see our life falling apart, things are not working out the way we want but can't do anything at that time. That why he says 'looking it coming unfocused'.
Actually we all face difficult times and sometimes depression and in those times we don't want to do anything but still we feel so tired and weak.

Blue & Grey just hit me differently when i hear this first time,
This is my favorite track from this album. It is so vulnerable in letting people see when they are not doing well. It may seem strange as if is a sad song but it is incredibly comforting to me. V wrote this song to put on his mix tape and it was all in English. After the members heard it they wanted it for the album so he reworked it and changed the lyrics to include Korean and the rap parts were added. On their show In The Soop V played part of the origional while he was out on the river alone....the origional lyrics were even much more sad. Part of me hopes he will still put the English version on the mixtape but I also doubt it will happen.

It's a song from taehyung's mixtape , so he wrote the lyrics which are personal to him and has nothing to do with the Bangtan Universe storyline , it was all in english and they just translated it in korean , he spoke about it in the BE press conference and his interview with Weverse Magazine

I guess you can say that the song is about feeling sadness(blue) and being down(grey), Taehyung himself explained that he wrote the song when he was feeling burntout at the beginning of this year, also the rapline always write their verses thinking about their personal take on the topic of the song.
I really love how BTS doesn't hesitate to write about mental health issues and be sincere about their most intimate feelings, they truly use art to express themselves which is what makes them artists.

This is one of my favorites although all are just masterpieces. Taehyung wrote this when he was going through a rough period. Hope he's doing well and it's incredible how they share their feeling to armies through their songs. All of them did a brilliant job in the creation of this album.

It was originally intended to be on V’s mixtape and was entirely in English. However, all members liked it so much that they decided to change some of it and put it on the album. and so rapline wrote their parts and V changed lyrics from English to Korean.

It definitely can be interpreted in many ways... As a person going thru somethig right now, All I want to feel is to be understood.. Like People who are going thru anxiety and depression all they ever want is to be feel happy and understood...the times we've tried to make things better and all you get back is disappointment... A grey animal more like my conscience that's telling me something and makes me question everything so I stay unfocused and the scene is unfamiliar coz I never felt something like that before.. And also the lyrics Don't say it's okay coz it's not okay more like don't say it's fine, it's just nothing, you gonna be alright...All those words doesn't make any sense coz no-one really knows what we are going thru..
It's a beautiful and such a heartfelt song and I relate to it on a personal level.. I cry everytime I listen to it..
