Cause the DOOM soundfont is all instruments from the Roland SC-55, which was a 90's midi interface and what Bobby Prince would have composed the music for Doom with. So a lot of the goofier instruments that came with it ended up being unused lol
@@dogman15 The Microsoft General MIDI soundfont was originally taken from Roland's SoundCanvas series. It's one of the reasons why there isn't a softsynth baked into Windows anymore, along with the fact that there isn't enough software that commonly uses MIDI these days, as audio file handling has improved over the years. If you absolutely need a softsynth, there's always FluidSynth (Uses standard soundfont files) or WildMIDI (uses old school Gravis UltraSound patch files).

hold up. i've been seeing "doom soundfont" thumbnails for a few days now and this is the first i've clicked on, and it's literally just MSGS? pretty funny, ngl.
Pff, this is great. Do you have this as a MIDI so people could use it in WADs? I would gladly use this in a stupid secret level idea I've had bobbing around in my head for a while. But I totally understand if you don't want people using your music.
Really wish I had a good way to share my projects as midi files, but unfortunately the program I use can’t export midi files for some reason :-[, perhaps one day I will switch to a more competent program lol
@@funky_goon Hmm, maybe ask around Doomworld, they might be able to help. You're a really good composer for the sound font, I feel like you would be able to do a lot of cool work for this game. I always like seeing custom music in levels, so I like seeing people get into this part of the hobby.
I’ll be honest I hold both these in high regards so when I saw this I was kinda underestimating it but all the sound effects and music and mixing it’s just- MUAH! wonderfull stuff.
Roland SC-55 to be exact, I just use the term “Doom Soundfont” because the Roland SC-55 is what was used to make the original doom soundtrack, and because Doom is my main inspiration behind these covers :-]
The automatic circumciser was always my favorite weapon but sometimes dual wielding the matching salt and pepper shakers was fun
I liked the bug deflector most.
They got a great big purple sign out front that says every 27th space marine gets a super shotgun FREE!

how tf does this game have such an intense soundtrack with goofy ass instruments like this

I know these sounds as Microsoft General MIDI.

I mean, he DOES need a chainsaw.
If anyone ever makes a DOOM mod set in a Home Depot, this should be the background music.
If it's specifically a home depot, it should be the home depot theme song, if it's any other hardware store it should be this though.
@MudakTheMultiplier good point
mylocalhardwarestore.wad
remember to use the .pk3 file instead
More slaying, more dooming.
That's the power of the Home Depot
less staying, more slaying
The difference in resolution between the background and the doomguy sprite makes it look like he's censored, XD
Graphic design is NOT my strong suit lol
Moreso the demon to the right of him.
And what about the Imp & Pinky?
2:17 My CD player when it’s trying to read the disc I drunkenly shoved into it after covering it in sauce and cheese thinking I’m making a pizza:
My favorite level in Doom - The Hardware Store of Hell
Hardware hell
NATURE TRAIL TO HELL! (in 3D)
the automatic circumciser was op as hell, it sawed those demons in half
We’re experiencing a weird al renaissance, gentlemen
I couldn't be happier🥹
I've been waiting since last June!
Call it an "RenALssance."

Doomguy forgot to get nails for his crucifixions. Are you a bad enough dude to go to the hardware store to help him out?

I was half expecting the vocals to be doom guy making hurt sounds, though this sounds better than that idea
*unf* Would you look at all that stuff...
Okay, I've apparently been trained to associate this soundfont with getting ready to kick some ass, no matter what it's used to play
I need this to be used in a map.
A joke map set in a hardware store

The Hardware Zone or Ultimate Hardware Store.
The algorithm was a good waiter and served me some excellent fucking content.
Great job, Mr. Funky Goon.

I feel like if someone were to a mod of Baldi’s Basics with Weird Al in it, this should be used as schoolhouse trouble.

this is that video for me LOL
This... this is what the internet was created for.
Kinda sounds like music that would be in a Runescape minigame.
Talk about a warehouse shooter

The free Ball-Peen hammer was such an underutilized weapon in Doom. I wish they'd done more with it.
I love this game. The Plumbing Department level kicked my ass though.
I'm high-fiving my inner child right now, thank you for this
Ah yes, Pinky hat... My favorite doom album.

Good Cover tho

I have no idea why this is the video that gave me this epiphany, but I just realized the music in Baldi uses the Doom sound font
This is like, niche upon niche. And I am so glad I found this
This almost sounds like a regular doom track
I think if someone snuck this in a regular level it would take me a while to figure out lol

chainsaws, flame belches, mancubus flame cannons and cyberdemon cannons or something like that
