  • After years of using Ford Tractors (660 and 3000) I traded them in and purchased a new TYM T25. It's a 25 hp. with 4 wheel drive, a front end loader, and a Hydrostatic transmission. It should do well in the Ozarks in our hills.

Thanks. I used it for a few hours this Friday. I never would have been able to do what I did with my old tractors.

Check your manual. I have a TYM T264 and it calls for changing the "screen" in the transmission behind the left rear tire with the 50 hour service and that will empty the transmission. The only difference between the tractor you have and my T264 is the lights, seat, PTO. Since TYM has taken the Branson 25 hp tractor back they are heavier. Tony's Tractor adventures has a great video on the 50 hr TYM service. One suggestion. Fill the tires and use ballast. I use my tractor very lightly and the Hydraulics are strong and I had a tippy situation on my concrete driveway lifting a 700 lb tiller when I bought the tractor. I had a rear wheel raise about an inch off the ground and its has a 1400 lb capacity. Filling the tires and 600 lb ballast REALLY cured that. I will probably put wheel spacers on it as well. I have moved some 20" + by 10'+ hardwoods no problems. You will love this little tractor. I almost got the Deere 1025. Thank the lord I kept looking. $4k less and almost twice the capacity.

You are very right! I love this tractor. I looked at Bad Boy, New Holland, and John Deere also. I believe we both made the right decision. I watched Tony's video. It was very helpful. I'm going to take mine in to the dealer for the 50 hour / 1 year service. They offered to check every bolt on the tractor for torque. I will only have to pay for the filters and fluids. That's a great deal in my mind at least for the first service. Also, I'm planning to have Rim Guard put in my rear tires. Thanks for the suggestion and for the comments.

I just got my T25 a couple of days ago. It was the universal quick attach that swayed me away from the Yanmar I was planning to buy.
So far, I really like this little red buggy. Going to try it on snow clearing while everybody else is watching a football game. Since I don't have anything but the loader so far, it will have to do. But no pavement to tear it up either. Just dirt...

Good for you sir. Those classics were wonderful but there’s nothing wrong with upgrading to something more capable and comfortable. It’s all material stuff we can’t take with us in the end. Nostalgia can make life much harder if you let it.

Yes, it got to the point that I needed better capabilities. It also was hard to keep the old 660 running. Thanks.

Hi, nice machine. Only thing i noticed he didn't tell you about the 2 grease fittings at center of front axle. One from front and one from back.

Good video. Luv my T25. FEL, grapple, flail mower, forks, and stump grinder. Watched some videos and just did my 50 hr myself and all good. Sight glass for hydro is on back, just to the right of pto. Fill plug is under that AWESOME seat! :)
I do kick that red lever under the seat a lot. Some say to cut off a couple inches to remedy. Also, if the pto lever won't engage, at lowest rpm, give the yellow knob just a bump to spin, then it will slip right in.
    Have fun!

Cutting the rear remote lever and the yellow knob are great couple of tips. Thanks for sharing. I've welded three hooks to the top of my front bucket to hook chains to for pulling up bushes, etc. Thanks again.

We love our t25. A few things I noticed in his walk around one him saying it has to be at 3/4-full throttle. Our tractors have auto throttle for driving around. I leave mine at idle unless I’m using the loader it an implement. I mean they have auto throttle for a reason right. Also if you read the tym manual they say to replace the hydro fluid and front axle fluid at the 50 hour maintenance as well. My dealer sent a paper that lines up with what your guys is saying her and that you don’t have to change the axle fluid and you just have to change the hydro filter and complete engine oil change. I’m contacting my dealer to have it verified in an email that I don’t have to replace the hydro fluid or front axle fluid at the 50 hour mark just for my records!!! Good luck with the new tractor. We love ours! And please post a video of you using the brush hog and how well it does.

I sure will. Trying the cutter in the yard made me realize it works wonderfully with the T25. It was so easy to back up!! I’ll make and post a video. Having once owned a NAPA store, I’m not one to typically let dealers do servicing for my equipment. However, at least for the 50 hour maintenance, I’ll let the dealer handle the work. For one I shouldn’t have any warranty issues and secondly, they will check every bolt on the tractor to make sure they are torqued properly. For me that is worth taking it back to the dealer. Good luck with your tractor. Thanks so much for sharing!

Replacing the 3000, wondering why you didn’t get a bigger TYM?

This T25 has been great. It’s much easier to operate than my old Fords. Thanks for commenting.

How do you like your T25 so far I have a old 801 ford but need a front end loader just wanting your feedback

    • @ReturningtoBasics
      @ReturningtoBasics  8 місяців тому +2

My ONLY regret is that I didn’t trade in my old Ford tractor for a new one earlier. I love this TYM T25. It is so much easier and safe to drive. Those old Ford tractors are great but nothing compared to a good new one. A front end loader on a two wheel drive tractor is worthless in hills. It was unsafe on my property in the Ozarks. You have too much weight on the front end with no pulling power. If your property is flat, like in the delta, it would possibly be ok. Otherwise I suggest you find a dealer that will give you a good trade in and get a new 4 wheel drive tractor with a front loader engineered for the machine. You’ll thank yourself later. Good luck and thanks for commenting.

When can I borrow your tractor and bush hog? The only thing that I see wrong with that tractor, is that Teresa most likely will never let you drive her tractor.
