I still do this with my wife who died at 38 in 1990. I was just out at her grave today planting tulips, and had brought her orange (her favorite color) roses. I will always miss her but I will see her again.
❤
May God bless your love!
Sure you can see her again..god bless you...🙏
what a gentleman.. and what a life your wife had given to you. awesome!! salute to you sir!
That is nice but there is no magic Retirement Home in the sky where one gets to just sit about doing nothing for eternity. God created this world, this earth, gave us this life - THIS IS IT! If you want life, it is only here
I love how this short felt like an old short, like something you would see on PBS. The cinematography, score, colors, and costuming just gave it an air of nostalgia, which worked really well with the message of the story.
Feels like something you would see in PBS in 1992
I love the message: Appreciate the blessings you have before you lose them.
A story well told and a lesson well learned in a very short time. Thank you for reminding me to appreciate what I still have today.
Wow that's a very old comment I wonder if you're still here lol
@@bedro4real826 😂😂😂 Yes, I am & about six years older.👍🏽
@@edwillfourie4280 damn, stay well man, life is going hard this year
@@bedro4real826 Thank you. You must take care as well. Yes, is a year like no other in so many ways...😖, but moments like this, puts a smile on one's face.🤝🏾
that bit of dialogue, "wait thirty years", was very efficient... the message is clear, don't take what you have for granted, and this is an amazing film!
I watched it twice and the tears came the second time.Absolutely beautiful.
This movie is one of its kind. With the perfect script, choreography, fine acting and amazing directing, it just makes it true as reality. It shows the power of love, not only for the old people who thinks that the young generations don't know how to love. The significance of love is for all ages..... not only the old fellow beings.
You don’t get to be an old fool by being a young fool !
Such a great reminder for us to slow down and take the time to let those we love know just how much. One day, it will be too late.
time change.. people left.. but memories and regret remains forever Buried somewhere in heart
Never we should be ashame to show our love to our love ones especially to our family while still we can.
Moral: "You love a person more when they are gone than, when they are with you"
Brilliant, great story putting our love and emotion into perspective. Never take your loved ones for granted.
See now this, is how I like my short films; short, moving, and emotional. This is an award-winning short film, no doubt about it.
Hassaan Tauseef the older man saw the younger man with his wife passed and realized he should not have to wait for his own wife to pass to get bigger flowers and to appreciate what he has now (if that makes sense idk)
I relate .....
my eyes swelled with tears .... my heart filled with so much emotion ....
memories came flooding in .... thank you....
The message is that if someone you think is hot comes into your place of work, ALWAYS try and hit on them, because you never know, their loved one might be dead.
That's hysterical
I always show this short to my cinema students - a simple an effective way to transmit feellings in a visual way.
Beautiful, just beautiful. Thank you very much.
Definitely shed some tears at the end!! Wonderful message. And many hugs to those missing special loved ones
Love and love only... Touching and matured...
This short film is really touching because it shows that everybody should take care of their beloved people when they are alive and not only when they are not present in this world. I really liked it.
He would be happy to wait for 30 years more, but there's nobody to wait for.
So simple and deep history.
if the old man dint say " wait for 30 years...". i would give more marks for his gift , as the flowers would bloom every season .
the young man's gift was too perfect for the sotuation .
realisation , anyways , was superb that living wife deserved better gift .
Came to snoop in your channel from the baby video left in tears
You should make more films jolie this was Spielberg's level no kidding
Gave me goosebumps. Make more!
This fantastic little short needs WAY more views.. I can honestly say I didn't see that coming.
Dear God, that was amazing. How does this video not have a lot more views? It was brilliant and inspirational. Thank you, Jolie.
Matt Foley I was thinking the same thing! You’d think this would have millions of views and likes by now. It was truly great
I can't believe how this short film changed my mood in such a short time. Thank you so much for sharing your art!
@tlalc12 Thanks for your kind comment!
True love never dies,..I would like to compare our love to anyone as just like a flower pot in that old man's hand as we take care of it so it blooms.. in the same way,you want it or not love is already in our hand but looking after it is the matter of difference.....❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for a beautiful love story Jolie,Loved it....
Thats how we all wished to be loved!
Awesome message perfectly packaged. Like a 4 minute "Lifetime Movie Channel" emotion movie. Perfect music to tug the heart strings. Love how the final scene ascends to the sky through the trees. The perfect plot twist, surprise ending, movie short
Such a great short film. It didn't even looked like one. Looks like some Hollywood movie kinda cinematography. And the background score was perfect . And what an acting, camera angles. Superb in all directions. Hats off . :)
+VIKAS SINGH Thank you, Vikas! I was blessed to work with a talented team.
Superb ! I will teach it to my students 👍👍
Amazing short...Thank You ..
It shows the young man being so nice, and polite to everyone. He didn't pass on his gloom. I need to watch this short every day.
I actually liked the little flowers though. They were alive in a pot. 🙂
Damn. This is just ONE of the reasons I'm known for being "hypersensitive" ... because my emotions ALWAYS seem to get the better of me (either that or someone is constantly cutting onions wherever I go, LOL)! But, WOW - such a powerful plot to this film. Thank you for sharing it with us UA-camrs. ✨❤️✨
Wow this made me cry. It is our human nature to take our loved ones for granted sometimes. This was a short simple truth for all people regards of one faith, beliefs and ideals. We need to share this with everyone we know.
tAKe A bOw ...one of the best short films i ever saw , thisFILM deserves million views
Absolutely stunning! One of the best short films I have seen in my life. Did not drag out at all and made me weep like a baby. Thank you so much for making this it made even myself think what more I could do for the ones I love who are here alive today :)
+Brandon Zelman Thank you for your kind words, Brandon. They mean a lot.
Excellent Film. This actually defines how impressive & meaningful a film can be made even with the simplest of things in life. Keep up the good work.
In regard to this film/Old Man : 'Never Judge a book by it's cover'
Planning to make another movie?
I thought it was for his kid but then.. I'm speechless. Don't forget to appreciate every little things.
THAT is what a short film should be.
Short n great artwork. Wonderful presentation in just 5 minutes. Casting done very well. Wonderful DOP too. GodOfShortFilms likes your art work.
Romance wins over practicality even in death. A lovely story. To let the finer feelings rule, or to flow through into life, is definitely an attractive thing to do.
That was the best 4 minute film ever!🙏🙏🙏
Beautiful. Simple story but brought tears in my eyes
Wow !! Great and very touching, no wonder you won awards. Perfection in all aspect (writer, actors, camera angles, director, ect....)
This was nice, simple, and knowledgeable
So sweet! It awakened me!❤❤🙏🏼
Great emotional story with an even greater message!! Loved it.
it's nt only a short film...beauty beyond reality..beauty beyond love....
Tears in under6 minutes. Impressed.
Beautifully done. Succinct & powerful.
This is a TOP-CATEGORY short film. No questions (for me) about it.
My heart no longer feels those memories that were once so alive.
@Don Martin 😢😢😢😢
Truly inspired. Thanks for giving such a beautiful movie. :)
+Rohit Attimarad Thank you for your kind words, Rohit!
wow!!! this film changed my life forever! the 30 second needed intro and one cut to dialogue in the beginning with the line about the dress touched my heart. let's not forget the minute and a half of credits for two minutes f footage. I've been watching this film everyday for one year and I'll watch it 30 more. great choice for the lead to wear flip flops!! Will I am now gonna be' passing' on to the next short film but it won't be the same without this flower shop filled film. that touched my heart. this film touched my heart. my heart
ahah that's because you're an empty box! you notice what you can see outside, you don't need a 3 hours movie to have a deep meaning. Watch it again for another year!
Jolie Hales😉. Stumbled upon you today. Well done. Love it.

We chose to have a baby... we did... she made me happier than anyone... then one day she woke up and diddn't love me anymore... now she's always there I see her all the time and that will be for as long as our son unites us... and yes... What an amazing story...!!! Such a great film...!!! I love it..!! 🙏🏻❤️
Jolie this was amazing. I'm an upcoming film maker myself and this has really inspired me. The simple stories are always the best I think. Really good work. :)
It's been 5 years. Did you make it?
Did you become a film maker?
*I wish you good luck*
simply wonderful
It is a beautiful film. I always love stories that has a hidden message, the cinematography looks near professional (kinda Hollywood ) and really great!
This is incredible
Half way through the short, I thought I recognized the street in the background. Then instantly recognized the cemetery. It's a 5min walk from my house. Makes this short 10x better
So green back then
Just great!!! Best regards from Russia!
OK, had to go and watch it again! I think I enjoyed it more than I did the first time. It is so well done! Bravo! I noticed you posted it on May 2, 2013, it's good to go back a look at some of our earlier work. I have people contact me about a book I wrote years ago. I have to go back a take another look and I am always amazed, I can't believe that I wrote that as a young man. Now, that I'm old, I have a little harder time getting the words to the paper. Again, thank you for this film. I needed it...
I loved this movie. Excellent story line, though left me feeling a little sad!
BRAVO Wonderful , very moving, difficult not to cry! You've succeeded to say so much in less than 5 minutes!! Just WOW!
+merveilleuxetmagique Thank you for your kind words! I wanted to tell this story for a long time, and I'm grateful.
+merveilleuxetmagique Thank you for your kind words! I wanted to tell this story for a long time, and I'm grateful.
I interpret this as we appreciate people more when they're dead. The blonde guy was nice but what had me thinking was, if the person he was giving these flowers to were alive, would he have been as sweet and extravagant?
+Arcel Glenn Mayrena hey Arcel, I guess the message the are trying to give is... know the worth of things what you have today.. he loved her, and he stil does.. we take things granted... we should stop that... ( my thoughts )
I know, I got that interpretation too but as a piece of art, there are multiple perspectives you can take to view the piece. We can interpret it with the obvious i.e. we tend to not appreciate people until they're gone OR we can interpret it as some people make more efforts in showing their love after death which is quite useless and these people will not be as loving if that person were still here. Both viewpoints are valid.
Got what you are trying to say... I agree with that...
Shweta More v
thank you for waking me up. by the way, I got the rest of the story as soon as the old man said just wait 30 years buddy.
Everything will be lost one day and we have only little time to spend here in earth so please help other care for others and feel the wonderful satisfaction
I love the old style of film with the soft glow. Reminds me of Pretty woman, night at the Roxbury, and a couple of others
Beautiful film. Congratulations :)
Stunning.
So Beautiful!
Powerful film!
beautiful! Bravo to the creator of this film.
Amazing! I'm not surprised this won an award tbh
I guessed quite early how this was going to play out... Lovely and sad, all the same.
So glad I found this. I'm a big fan of Mr. E. =)
This film made my tears...
This hit me right in the guts. Well done.
